Automated Design of Viterbi Decoder using Specification Parameters (사양변수를 이용한 비터비 복호기의 자동설계)

  • In this paper, we proposed a design method of parameterized viterbi decoder, which automatically synthsizes the diverse viterbi deciders used in the digital mobile communication systems. It is designed to synthesize a viterbi decoder specified by user-provided parameters. Those parameters are constraint length, code rate generator polynomials of teh convolutional encoder, data rate and bits/frame of the data transmission, and soft decision bits of viterbi decoder. For the design of the parameterized viterbi decoder, we designed a user interface module C-language, and a viterbi decoder module in a hierarchical atructure using VHDL language and its generic statement. For the verification of the parameterized viterbi decoder, we compared our synthesized viterbi decoder with the conventional viterbi decoder which is designed for the IS-95 CDMA system. The proposed design method of the viterbi decoder will be a new method to obtain a required viterbi decoder in a very short time only by supplying the design parameters.

Multiple Orthogonal Subcarrier Modulation based High-Speed UHF RFID System for Multiple-/Dense-Interrogator Environments (다중/집중리더 환경에 적합한 다중 직교 부반송파 변조 기반 고속 UHF RFID 시스템)

  • This paper presents a novel multiple orthogonal subcarrier modulation based UHF band RFID communication system. In tag-to-reader communication, the demonstration system can deliver 1.6 Mbps through four subcarriers. To improve data rate while suppressing increase in circuit complexity, tag employs square-waves as the subcarriers and uses individual load modulators for each subcarrier. By using multiple orthogonal subcarrier based modulation, proposed communication system can be operated under existing UHF band RFID regulation. In reader, an OFDM demodulator is used. Since the tag backscatters the reader's CW carrier, carrier frequency offset compensation is not necessary in reader demodulator. Experimental results show that the demonstration system achieves a bit error rate of 10-5 at an Eb/N0 of 10.8 dB.

Design of a FRP Deck Using Topology and Shape Optimization (위상과 형상최적화 기법을 사용한 FRP 교량 바닥판의 설계)

  • By using topology and shape optimization, a theoretically optimum FRP deck was proposed. Firstly, a topologically optimal shape, truss-like structure without hinges, was found. A truss-shape frame is the most ideal structure when subjected to a concentrated force at the center of simply supported beam. An armature was found at the point joining horizontal chord and diagonal chord, which was used as a new design variable. Secondly, optimum value of each variable was decided through shape optimization using genetic algorithm. To compare it with existing commercial FRP decks, shape optimization was performed by fixing the height of FRP decks. To verify the performance of the FRP deck proposed in this study, a finite element analysis was performed. As a result, it satisfies serviceability and safety guide lines of FRP decks.

  • 최근 컨테이너 선박의 초대형화로 극후물 고장력 강재인 항복응력 460MPa급 고장력강인 EH47이 개발되었다. 두께 80mm의 극후물 용접에서 용접생산성 향상을 위하여 EGW/FCAW로 양면 용접이 검토되고, 입열량은 최대 300kJ/cm의 대입열 용접이 요구된다. 이를 위해서는 강재 및 용접재료 모두 300kJ/cm 용접부 성능이 선급 규격을 만족하여야 함은 물론 마지막 조립단계에서 적용되기 때문에 용접재료의 용접작업성도 매우 크게 요구되고 있다. 먼저 대입열 용접금속에서 요구되는 저온 충격인성($vE_{-20^{\circ}C}{\geq}57J$)을 만족하기 위하여는 용접금속의 미세조직 제어가 필요하며, 특히 조대한 입계페라이트 생성을 억제하고 미세한 입내 페라이트를 균일 분포하는 것이 중요하지만, 이를 위해 용접금속의 소입성이 지나치게 높이면 경화조직인 베이나이트 분율이 증가하여 오히려 용접금속 저온 충격인성을 저하시키므로, 적절한 용접금속의 성분 제어가 중요하다. 한편 용접부는 선급에서 요구하는 최소 강도인 570MPa를 만족하기 위하여 용접금속의 소성구속 현상을 활용하여 용접부 인장강도를 확보 할 수 있음을 확인했다. 이를 위해서는 용접금속의 적정한 경화도 확보가 필요하였다. 전술한 바와 같이 대입열 용접금속 저온 충격인성 확보와 용접부 강도 측면을 고려하여 용접금속 최적의 탄소당량 범위를 제시코자 하였다. 한편 용접재료의 용접작업성은 EGW용접의 용적이행 현상은 자유비행이행으로 이루어지고 있으며 특성상 용접중 용적과 용융지 사이에 많은 순간단락 현상을 동반하고 있으며, 슬래그 유동이 불안정하면 아크 꺼짐 현상도 관찰되고 있다. 따라서, 현장용접시 원할한 용접작업성을 확보할 수 있는 평가 기준으로써 아크 전류 및 전압의 변동 정도를 설정하고, 용접재료의 용접작업성 확보 기준을 제시코자 하였다.

A Study on the Lattice Girder by Increasing Contacting Area between Spider and Rod (스파이더와 강봉간 접촉면적을 증가시킨 격자지보재에 대한 연구)

  • Shotcrete, rockbolt, and steel rib are installed to support ground after tunnel was excavated. These are important supports for NATM applied tunnels. Recently, lattice girder is increasingly used because it is easily installed. In this study, we developed a new lattice girder by increasing contacting area between spider and rod. To verify the effect of the new lattice girder, the 3-point and 4-point flexural strength tests were carried out for LG-$50{\times}20{\times}30$, LG-$70{\times}20{\times}30$, LG-$95{\times}22{\times}32$. As a result, in case of contacting area, strength of new SGS lattice girder is 17.95% higher than that of original lattice girder. In case of weakness point, strength of new SGS lattice girder is 19.37% higher than that of original lattice girder.

  • In this study, the shock resistance of a gas turbine package subjected to a shock load caused by non-contact underwater explosion was investigated using numerical analysis. To perform shock analysis, the time-history shock load was calculated according to BV-043 (German Navy Regulation). The direct transient response analysis in the time domain for the simplified Whole Engine Model (WEM) was performed using the calculated shock load. In addition, the structural integrity of a detailed model was evaluated by considering the shock load transferred to each component. As a result, it was confirmed that the safety factor was at least 1.0 as compared with the reference stress. Finally, the structural and functional integrity of the Engine Management System (EMS) of the gas turbine package was verified through an actual shock test.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the acoustic problems of the conventional heat recovery ventilator and to suggest the methods of noise reduction from a heat recovery ventilator according to the installed location. The noise level, in this study, was measured and discussed as the parameters of size, wind volume and sound absorbing duct length for a heat recovery ventilator based on domestic and international related standards. It is found, as a result, that almost all of noise levels from the small and medium heat recovery ventilators without the sound absorbing duct in the anechoic chamber were higher than the noise standard value of 50 dB(A) regardless of the wind volume, and the noise levels went down when a sound absorbing duct was installed. In addition, the sound pressure level relative to frequency bands according to the length of sound absorbing duct was generally decreased, as the length of sound absorbing duct in the small and medium heat recovery ventilators was big, and the sound pressure level was generally increased, as the wind volume was great.

  • In this paper, a novel particle swarm optimization method based on IE3D is used to design a mobile communication Microstrip Patch Antenna. The aim of the thesis is to Design and fabricate an inset fed rectangular Microstrip Antenna and study the effect of antenna dimensions Length (L), Width (W) and substrate parameters relative Dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}r$), substrate thickness on Radiation parameters of Band width. When the antenna was designed, a dual-band, dual-polarized antenna was used to secure the bandwidth and improve performance, and a coaxial probe feeding method so that the phased array of antenna is easy.

  • The earth volume which is the basis of all the construction has gone through great development so far with the use of construction machine; however, systematic studies on the related area is in need since the appropriate compound engineering method of earth volume equipments which is a key factor for shortening the project duration and cost reduction is not systematically established and it is dependent on experience. Reasonable mechanical earth volume should take into consideration of performance and characteristics of the equipment, the kind of project, scale and conditions in advance. Also, the optimum compound engineering should be planned by selecting several available scales of equipment. In this study, the earth volume estimate model is established for optimum compound engineering of earth volume equipment for mechanized earth volume equipment loading and moving stage among many stages of earth volume task using system dynamics technique. The optimum compound engineering model of the earth volume equipment produced as a result of this is expected to make reasonable decisions in the shortest time in selecting earth volume facility.

  • This paper presents the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) estimation based on A-Preamble of IEEE 802.16m IMT-Advanced WiMax system with simulation results. The downlink signal of IEEE 802.16m has two kinds of A-Preambles: the PA-Preamble and the SA-Preamble. This paper proposes the effective method of estimating SNR and SINR with A-Preambles, and also shows that this method can recognize the ICI(Inter-Carrier-Interference) occurrence due to doppler frequency. With the recognition of ICI, the mobile station can save the power by operating 1-tap equalizer in usual cases, and activating ICI mitigation module only when it perceives the ICI occurrence.
