Reality and Reflection: French Architectural Journals in the 1970s as sociocultural network (현실과 반영 : 1970년대 사회-문화적 네트워크로서의 프랑스 건축전문지)

  • This research aims to demonstrate the sociocultural significance of architectural journals produced in the 1970s during which a fundamental reconsideration of architectural discipline has been made. To this end, we established a method of analysis adapted to the characteristics of architectural journals of that period. In this formulation, the relative autonomy of architectural journal with regard to various actors and institutions involved in its production emerged as a major criterion for the analysis of a journal. From this methodological reflection, we analyzed two French architectural journals, AMC published between 1973 and 1981 and l'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui between 1974 and 1977, which were produced both in close relation with parisian architectural schools (UPA) in the context of reestablishment of architectural education and beginning of architectural research in France after the events of May 1968. If these journals reflected and strengthened the architectural reality and especially the social network of their protagonists, it is equally important to note that they have transformed it into cultural network, and this by the mechanism proper to their preparation and their textual organization.

Cultural Implications of Science and Technology (과학기술의 문화적 함의)

  • Though science and technology can understood as a part of cultural system, the relationship of science/technology with culture is often viewed as contradictory or mutually exclusive by many scholars. Therefore, in the first section of the present paper, the nature of science and technology as a cultural form is examined. Here, science is viewed as a form of symbolic culture, while technology is regarded as a form of instrumental culture. In the second section, the contradictory relationship and/or tensions between science-technological system (instrumental culture) and cultural system (symbolic culture) within a society is discussed. In the final section of this paper, 'science culture' is conceptualized as a dynamic social process in which contradictory science sub-cultures of political system(state), economic system(cooperations), civil society (including academic community of scientists and other social organizations and movements), and cultural system are supposed to be coordinated. In conclusion, establishment of 'humanized science culture' and 'democratic science-culture movement' is proposed as an alternative way of resolving contradictory relationship between cultural system and science-technological system in the modern world.

Determinants of Preschoolers' Self-determination: Focus on their Playfulness, Self-esteem, and Self-regulation (유아의 자기 결정력에 영향을 미치는 요인 :유아의 놀이성, 자아존중감, 자기조절력을 중심으로)

  • The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of preschoolers' levels of playfulness, self-esteem and self-regulation on their self-determination. Furthermore, the mediational effects of the children's self-esteem in the relationship between their playfulness and self-determination. To meet the purposes of this study, 126 preschoolers aged 6-7 years old who attended early childhood education and care settings were sampled. Data on the preschoolers' self-esteem, self-regulation, and self-determination were assessed by their teachers, and their playfulness was observed by one of the researchers in this study. The main results of this study were as follows. The most influential variable on the young children's self-determination was found to be their levels of self-esteem. Also, the preschoolers' self-esteem mediated the effects of the playfulness on their self-determination. Implications for research and practice were discussed along with the results of this study.

A Study on the Job Satisfaction of Nurses Experiencing Clinical and Clinical Trials (임상과 임상시험을 경험한 간호사의 직무만족에 관한 연구)

  • This study was undertaken is to improve the working conditions by improving the job satisfaction of clinical research nurses and clinical nurses involved in and conducting clinical trials. The survey was conducted from November 6 to December 6, 2017 for 100 nurses working in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The accumulated data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability verification, and t-test using the SPSS program. Our results reveal that job satisfaction was higher for clinical nurses (2.94 ± 0.609 points) as compared to clinical research nurses (2.89 ± 0.620 points). Also, the satisfaction level of salary received was higher amongst the clinical nurses than the clinical research nurses. Furthermore, although career decision was relatively lower for the clinical nurse than the clinical research nurse, the importance of job performance and job stability ranked high. Considering importance of the role of clinical research nurses in clinical trials, it is necessary to enhance their job satisfaction by improving the clinical trial environment such as appropriate treatment and professional role, and the working environment including remuneration, professional status, and administrative work to establish their jobs.

An Empirical Study on the Alternative Work Organization and Workers' Outcome - Focus on Lean Production - (대안적 작업조직 유형과 노동자 성과에 관한 실증적 고찰 - 제조업의 린 방식을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect to financial outcome and workers' outcome, using the manufacturing industry database of Human Capital corporate Panel from Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training. Especially, this study used the typology of Lean production and Autonomous team production, that are the typical form of alternative work organization, to analyze. In the case of domestic manufacturing industry, individual participation practices, that have the main characteristics such as QC or suggestion system, is expanded. Therefore, with the reference of Lean production, Autonomous Team Production and the Taylor system are compared and analyzed, considering the characteristics of Socio-technical System. As a result, it is showed that the Lean production and Autonomous Team Production as a alternative work organization are more positive about the organizational performance and workers' outcome than the taylor system. However, when Lean production and Autonomous Team Production are compared, it is showed unsignificant distinction to the effect of organizational performance. Meanwhile, Lean production showed more negative effect on the every dependent variables such as working hours, income, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment as workers' performance than the Autonomous Team Production. Although the common ideas and belief is that the Lean Production is superior for the quality and organizational performance improvement, it is implied the possibility that there is some damaged workers' performance on the hidden side of that mechanism.

The Effects of Kindergarten Teachers' Job Satisfaction and their Life Satisfaction on Teacher-Children Interactions (유치원 교사의 직무만족도와 삶의 만족도가 교사-유아 상호작용에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of job satisfaction and life satisfaction on teacher-children interactions in kindergarten teachers. The tests of Job satisfaction scale, Life Satisfaction scale, Teacher-Children Interactions scale were administered to 320 public and private kindergarten teachers located in Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do. The statistical method employed for data analysis was Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of study were as follows. First, the higher factors of job satisfaction (the teaching consciousness, development, innovation, autonomy, fellowship, and reward), the higher the teacher-children interaction. The higher the workload, the lower the verbal interaction between teacher-children. Second, the higher the life satisfaction of kindergarten teachers, the higher the emotional, verbal, and behavioral interaction between teachers and children. Third, the relative influences of the predictors on the overall interaction between teacher and children are life satisfaction (β=.24), development (β=.22), and fellowship (β=.16) and the explained variance are 25%.

A Study on the Impact of Hotel Internal Marketing Practices on Culinary Staff Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment (호텔기업 내부마케팅활동이 조리종사원들의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study seeks to determine causal relationships between hotel internal marketing practices and job satisfaction, and ultimately on organizational commitment, to contribute information enabling hotel management to better understand employees working in hotel culinary departments. SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were employed for the statistical analysis (e.g. frequency statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and structure equation model). Results revealed that the formulated model showed proper model fit (${\chi}^2=227.154$(df=179), p-value=0.009, CMIN/DF=1.269, RMR=0.013, GFI=0.931, AGFI=0.911, NFI=0.906, CFI=0.978, RMSEA=0.031), and confirmed construct reliability and convergent validity. Three factors (benefit package, educational training, work autonomy) were extracted based on the results of the factor analyses. Specifically, benefit package and work autonomy exhibited an effect on job satisfaction with benefit package asthe most significant factor (t-value 3.311, p<0.001), partially supporting the first hypothesis of this study. In addition, job satisfaction has found to have a positive influence in organizational commitment, confirming the second hypothesis of this study.

  • 흔히 중소건설사는 대형건설사에 비해 안전관리 역량이 뒤처진다고 알려져 있다. 자금과 인력이 상대적으로 부족하다 보니 안전관리에 소홀하다는 것이 그 이유다. 그런데 최근 이런 인식이 한낱 편견에 불과함을 보여주는 현장이 있어 큰 주목을 받고 있다. 그 주인공은 바로 강원지역의 중견건설상인 (주)대건이 시공을 하고 있는 '평창군 오대천 생태하천 복원사업 현장'이다. 이곳은 현장소장을 필두로 모든 현장 구성원이 적극 재해예방활동에 참여하는 등 자율안전관리의 모범을 보여주고 있다. 게다가 최근 안전보건공단으로부터 '위험성평가 우수 사업장 인정'을 받았을 정도로 안전관리의 수준도 상당히 높다. 하고자 하는 열정과 굳건한 신념만 있다면 중소건설사도 대기업 못지않은 우수한 안전관리를 펼칠 수 있다는 것을 직접 보여주고 있는 이곳 현장을 찾아가 봤다.

A Study on the Roles and Efficient Operations of Urban Regeneration Support Center as Intermediary Organization - Focused on the Chungcheongbuk-do - (중간지원조직으로서 도시재생지원센터의 역할과 운영 방안 - 충청북도 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • Recently, there has been considerable talk about urban regeneration support centers that are currently promoting urban regeneration projects. The reason is that the role and authority are unclear, and the experience of each local government center is not accumulated, resulting in many trial and error and side effects. This study analyzed the current state of operations of urban regeneration support centers in Chungcheongbuk-do to find desirable ways to operate them in the future. The main findings are as follows. First, the role and division between metropolitan and basic centers and field centers of urban regeneration support centers in Chungcheongbuk-do are unclear. Second, the limitations of the center's operation methods, operational autonomy, and independence are not secured. Third, as a participant in urban regeneration, it has relatively low authority and status compared to administration. Fourth, the lack of professional manpower related to urban regeneration and the instability of staff employment were derived as overall problems.

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers are intrinsically vulnerable to radio frequency jamming signals due to the fundamental property of radio navigation systems. A GNSS jamming monitoring system that is capable of jamming detection, classification and localization is essential for infrastructure for autonomous driving systems. For these 3 functionalities, a GNSS jamming monitoring network consisting of a multiple of low-cost GNSS receivers distributed in a certain area is needed, and the precise time synchronizaion between multiple independent GNSS receivers in the network is an essential element. This paper presents a precise time synchronization method based on the direct use of Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technique in signal domain. A block interpolation method is additionally incorporated into the method in order to maintain the precision of time synchronization even with the relatively low sampling rate of the received signals for computational efficiency. The feasibility of the proposed approach is verified in the numerical simualtions.
