The Effects of Job Satisfaction, Social Support and Hope on Life Quality of Mongolian Workers: Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Hope and the Moderating Effect of the Legal Status (재한 몽골 합법·불법 이주노동자들의 직업만족도, 사회적 지지, 희망이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향: 희망의 매개효과와 체류자격의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The predominant concern of the study centers on: (1) the direct effects of the job satisfaction, social support and hope on the individual's quality of life; (2) the direct effect of hope alone on the individual's quality life; (3) the mediating effect of the hope between the job satisfaction/social support and life quality; (4) the moderating effect of the worker's legal status(legal labors Vs. illegal labors) on each causal relationship. Research is based on a survey conducted with 453 Mongolian immigrant workers(333 legal workers, 120 illegal workers) from 10 cities including Seoul. In order for respondents to address research questions, structural equation models are explored. A variety of tests are conducted(metric invariance test, critical ratio for difference test, multi-group analysis, bias-corrected boot-strapping, latent mean analysis including Cohen's effect test). The noticeable findings are as follow: First, both job satisfaction and social support have a positive influence respectively on the individual's hope and the individual's quality of life. Second, we found a partial mediating effect of hope between both job satisfaction/social support and the individual's life quality. Third, we failed to find a moderating effect of the workers' legal status on each causal relationship. Finally, there is no significant difference of the latent means of each latent variable -job satisfaction, social support, hope, and life quality - between the legal group and the illegal group, except the latent mean of workers' quality of life. A range of practical and political implications are discussed based on the study's findings.

An Analysis of The Effect of a Port on The Living Conditions of Its Neighborhood Area (항만이 인근지역 생활여건에 미친 영향 분석)

  • This study aims to reveal how a port affects the living conditions of its neighborhood area with a case study of Pusan New Port and to suggest several implications to port policy. PLS-SEM reflective measurement model satisfies the criteria on reliability and validity, and also structural model meets the criteria in terms of R2, path coefficients' significance and predictive relevance(Q2). The results of PLS-SEM support the hypotheses of this study: The expansion of Pusan New Port contributes to the improvement of living conditions of Gangseo-gu(nearby area) through its significant and sequential effects on the employment and population increase of Gangseo-gu. The originality of this study can be found in enunciating that a port plays a role as a driving force of the betterment of living conditions of its nearby Gu-level area. In terms of policy, central and local governments and port related companies should cooperate with each other to reinforce the acceptability of port policy through the improvement of the living conditions of port neighborhood area. To evaluate comprehensively the influence of a port on its neighborhood area, a further study needs to identify how a port affects the quality of life of the area or what kinds of socio-economic effects a port has on the area.

Developing the Self-Reporting Scale of Community Integration for the Person with Psychiatiric Disabilities (정신장애인의 자기보고식 지역사회통합 척도 개발)

  • This study aims to develop a valid self-report scale for the community integration of persons with psychiatric disabilities. To this end, conducted were in-depth interviews with individuals with psychiatric disabilities, consultation with experts, and a survey. First, literature review and the in-depth interview with individuals with psychiatric disabilities were collected questionnaires regarding the community integration of persons with psychiatric disabilities. Second, preliminary research 1 focused on the selection and modification of the items collected in the first research. Final 44 items were selected by the verification of the importance and content-validity of items under the advices of professionals. Lastly, preliminaty research 2 applied cross-validation method to the data from 524 cases in order to verify the factor structure and concept-validity of the items. The result of exploratory factor analysis shows that 5 factor structures are the most appropriate, and the confirmatory factor analysis suggests that the Self-reporting Scale of Community Integration for the person with psychiatric disabilities consists of 27 questionnaires which compose 5sub-concepts such as'psychological integration','physical integration', 'social support', 'social integration', 'independence/self-actualization'. Moreover, this scale was significantly related to the 'Life Satisfaction scale for the person with psychiatric disabilities'. This proved concurrent validity of the scale.

Comprehensive Senior Technology Acceptance Model for Digital Health Devices (디지털 헬스기기의 통합적 고령자 기술수용도 모델)

  • We conducted the analysis using the data of the '2019 Korean Middle and Elderly Technology Acceptance Survey' to verify the comprehensive senior technology acceptance model. In this study, we examined the significant effect the relationship between behavioral intention to use the diital health devices and perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, gerontechnology self-efficacy, gerontechnology anxiety, facilitating conditions, attitude to life and satisfaction through the structural equation. The results of the research model are as follows. First, the usefulness and ease of use had significant effects on intention to use. Second, the self-efficacy had significant effects on the intention to use. But they had negative effect. Third, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy and anxiety had significant effects on ease of use. Lastly, self-efficacy, facilitating conditions, attitude to life and satisfaction had significant effects on perceived usefulness. These findings highlight that verified the comprehensive senior technology acceptance model in Korea.

Effects of Local Governments Social Security Network on Safety life satisfaction - Mediating effect of regional disorder - (CPTED와 지자체 안전교육이 지역 무질서 및 안전생활 만족도에 미치는 영향: 지역 무질서의 매개효과)

  • This study is designed to examine the relationship between the social safety net and the 'satisfaction level of safety life' conducted by local governments and to examine the effects of anarchy on the indicators. To do this, 300 people were sampled using the random sample method in the metropolitan area using the population of residents in the metropolitan area in 2017, and a total of 276 copies were extracted except 24 copies in the final analysis. Regression analysis and path analysis were conducted through structural equation modeling. Bootstrapping was performed to investigate the significance of the mediator effect. In summary, 'CPTED' has a positive effect on 'disorder' and 'safety life satisfaction', but 'municipal safety education' has a positive effect on 'safety life satisfaction' Respectively. 'Local disorder' has a negative effect on 'safety life satisfaction'. As a result of path analysis, the same effect was found. In order to examine mediating effect, bootstrapping showed that regional disorder was mediated only in 'CPTED' and 'safety life'. This result suggests that there is a need for change in the safety education of the community and it supports the precedent study that it is an effective means of safety net for the safety life of the CPTED community in the community. It is one of the nation's most important policies to prepare measures for the safety of the people. The local governments should also ensure the safety of local residents. In this study, the relationship between the local safety net and the disorder and safety life satisfaction was investigated.

Factors Influencing the Pre and Post Acceptance Behavior of QR code User (QR코드 사용자의 수용 전, 후 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The Purpose of this research was to identify the factors have influenced Word-of-mouth with a personal Innovativeness in using QR code and to get an advertising & marketing side implication. For this, researcher examined a SEM (structural equating model) methodology of the route from the study on the influencing factors the QR code user's pre and post acceptance behavior and applied the examined variables, existing Expanded TAM, TRAM, PAM which is a contribution points. As a result of this study, first, it was confirmed that the personal innovativeness affected user's perceived usefulness, joyfulness, use intention, and satisfaction. Second, it was confirmed that innovativeness affected perceived usefulness, use intention and this route connected to WOM, in other side, it was discussed that innovativeness affected joyfulness, satisfaction and this route connected to WOM. The above result means that 'joyfulness', 'satisfaction' are important elements, in terms of marketing aspect, for the companies to take an advantage of QR Code as a means of advertising. It should be understood that users don't spend their time on the service having no joy as quality of life improves. After all, it means that uninteresting QR Code isn't suitable for mediums of advertising.

  • Today, when innovation and creativity become increasingly important, management of human resources is a key factor for corporate performance and competitive advantage. Corporate are implementing and introducing various types of support methods for members to achieve goals and improve organizational performance. Organizational culture and organizational trust affect the cognitive and emotional state of members. Furthermore, it can bring about changes in organizational performance such as job stress and job satisfaction. From an institutional point of view, work-life balance is also a major factor affecting organizational performance. The imbalance between work and life leads to a decline in organizational performance, such as decreased morale and dissatisfaction with work. In relation to work-life balance, the low birth rate problem intensified and the importance began to emerge. Therefore, the government has implemented various policy support for workers' work-life balance, and the "52-hour workweek" is a representative example. This study analyzed the effect of organizational culture applying the competitive value model on workers' job stress. In addition, the mediating effects of overtime work per week and organizational trust were analyzed. Job stress corresponds to a prerequisite stage that affects job commitment, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. However, research measuring job stress by organizational performance is insufficient. In addition, there are few studies analyzing the relationship between overtime and organizational performance. Considering this, it is necessary to understand the influence relationship. The results of the study are as follows. First, a hierarchical culture increases the job stress of workers. On the other hand, innovation-oriented, relationship-oriented, and competition-oriented corporate culture reduce job stress. Second, a hierarchical culture has reduced trust in the organization, and other organizational cultures have increased trust in the organization. Third, relationship-oriented and competition-oriented organizational culture reduced overtime. Innovation-oriented, hierarchical-oriented culture increased overtime Fourth, organizational trust and overtime have the effect of mediating organizational culture and job stress. Based on these analysis results, this study presented academic and political implications.

Development and Validation of the Korean Wellness Scale (한국형 웰니스 척도(KWS) 개발 및 타당화)

  • This study developed a measure to measure wellness-seeking behavior in important areas of life for general adults in Korea and verified its validity. For the development of the wellness scale, 31 factors derived through literature review, expert interviews, in-depth interviews, open questionnaires 1 and 2, and 182 questions were selected as the final 10 factors and 99 questions. Through exploratory factor analysis of the results of the preliminary survey of 351 adults in Korea, 58 questions of 10 factors were derived, and some of the questions reflecting important concepts in each factor were revised, and this survey was conducted with 63 questions of 10 factors. In this survey conducted on 667 people, to verify the validity of the composition concept of this test, the entire sampling was divided into two groups, one group was subjected to exploratory factor analysis, and the other group was subjected to confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, 63 questions of 10 factors (work, community, family, others, economic power, self-esteem, leisure, physical health, spirituality, and self-growth) were finally derived, and confirmatory factor analysis using the structural equation model verified that the model fit criteria were met. Convergence validity was verified using the K-MHC-SF and Wellness Index for Workers to verify whether the derived wellness scale and its sub-factors actually measure wellness. As a result of analyzing the relationship between the variables and factors of the Subjective Happiness Scale and Life Scale to verify the validity related to the criteria, it was found to be a significant correlation. As a result of confirming the significance of each path through multiple regression analysis, the 'self-esteem' on the wellness scale was identified as the most important factor influencing subjective happiness and life satisfaction. Finally, discussions on this research process and results, academic significance and practical significance, limitations, and future research directions were presented.
