  • This study purports to identify the factors that contribute to the classification of age groups or generations of Koreans. Independent variables such as respondents' attitudes toward welfare, attitudes toward equity, education level, perception of inequality in Korean society, tax awareness, and health status are included in the model that were put into the analysis with the main interest. Since this study does not construct any hypothesis prior to analysis, the nature of this study can be said exploratory. The data utilized for the analysis are from the 17th year of the Korean Welfare Panel collected in 2022, and a linear discrimination analysis technique will be used. First and foremost, a theoretical review of the generational classification will be conducted through domestic and international literature in the past. To date, there is no quantitative studies in Korea that have a significant influence on the generational classification. Therefore, in this study, a theoretical review of political tendencies and values, which are estimated to have a significant influence on the generational classification, that is, the difference between generations, will be significant.   • This study seeks to expand the jewelry market and overall development of the industry by understanding the fashion jewelry market and researching marketing strategies based on changes in market consumption. Looking at recent changes in the jewelry market, the number of new consumers (fashion jewelry buyers) has increased since 2014, leading to a recovery in purchases and strong sales. However, the decline in costs is prolonged, the focus on purchasing low-priced products is increasing, and there is a growing trend of purchasing products other than rings. Items are becoming more diverse, including bracelets and necklaces, and the popularity of imported products and brands is intensifying. Ultimately, the penetration of fashion jewelry and the growth of imported brands are expected to continue for a long time. The fashion jewelry market is a market that appears to have ample potential to grow into a larger market, filling the structural limitations of the jewelry market and providing consumer satisfaction in line with recent consumption trends. If so, We need to think about how to grow and develop this market, and We need to view it as a jewelry market in a broad sense, and it is a market that can serve as a bridgehead for the precious metal jewelry market to expand into the accessory market in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to create a jewelry market by utilizing the advantages of fashion jewelry, such as diversity of materials and expressions, price competitiveness, wide distribution channels and consumer accessibility, reflection of trends, and consumer awareness.

  • Curriculum revision is a very important process for improving students' learning achievement and abilities, responding to social needs, strengthening equality and inclusiveness, strengthening teachers' professionalism, strengthening national competitiveness, and responding to the era of globalization, and for continuous development and innovation. Through this, we can provide better educational opportunities and environments for future generations. The 2022 revised curriculum is a curriculum that reflects the knowledge and skills students need in modern society and enables them to respond to changes in industry and society. The purpose of this study is to present the direction of career education by analyzing the career education shown in the 2022 revised curriculum. If we analyze only the contents related to career education in the 2022 revised curriculum that directly mention career and occupation, the following contents are found. First, in the curriculum for future response, contents related to career education appear in the strengthening of basic digital knowledge. Second, in the field of autonomous innovation support tasks at school sites, the organization of the free semester system and improvement plans are presented among the details of the improvement of flexibility in the operation of the elementary and secondary school curriculum. Third, in the area of strengthening learner-customized education, the core of career education is strengthening career-linked education between elementary, middle and high schools. Career education is mentioned in the area of the detail itself. As such, it is no exaggeration to say that the core content of the 2022 revised curriculum is career education. The direction and contents of career education are faithfully reflected in the 2022 revised curriculum.

The impact of beauty workers' human service quality on customer empathy and intention to revisit beauty shops (뷰티종사자의 인적서비스품질이 고객공감과 뷰티숍 재방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the beauty industry has become very competitive, so providing high-quality personal service has been raised as an important factor in maintaining a competitive edge and attracting customers. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of personal service quality of beauty workers on customer empathy and intention to revisit beauty shops. To this end, a total of 238 questionnaires were collected and frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed using the statistical package SPSS 27.0. The results of the study were as follows: First, among the components of personal service quality of beauty workers, sincerity and professionalism had a significant effect on emotional empathy, but reliability did not have a significant effect. Second, reliability, sincerity, and professionalism all had a significant effect on cognitive empathy. Third, emotional empathy and cognitive empathy had a significant effect on intention to revisit. Accordingly, in order to increase intention to revisit beauty shops, it seems necessary to provide education on words and actions that can give trust to beauty workers, genuine service, and professional skills. In the future, it is thought that research on customer empathy and revisit intentions should be conducted through the human service quality of beauty professionals and other variables differentiated from this study.

Location Determinants for Newly Established and Relocated Manufacturing Firms (신설 및 이동 제조업체의 입지 결정요인 분석)

  • This study analyzes the location determinants of newly established and relocated manufacturing firms in South Korea using the National Business Survey data from 2016 to 2019. Both new establishments and relocations are concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong, Yeongnam, and Daegyeong regions, with relocated firms showing a higher degree of spatial concentration. Employing a negative binomial regression model, we find that manufacturing concentration, population density, industrial diversity, and lower wage levels positively influence both new establishments and relocations. The proportion of highly educated workers, accessibility to producer services, and average land prices only positively affect the frequency of new establishments, suggesting that firms in the early stages of their life cycle, which are more dependent on human capital and producer services, demonstrate a higher willingness to pay for land use. Conversely, increased travel time to Seoul and improved transportation accessibility enhance the probability of attracting relocated firms. This implies that cost reduction incentives associated with distance from Seoul may outweigh the benefits of proximity to the capital in relocation decisions. Our findings suggest that strengthening agglomeration economies and improving transportation infrastructure efficiency could increase the likelihood of attracting relocated manufacturing firms to non-capital regions.

Korean Employees' Learning Orientation and Entrepreneurial Intention: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Entrepreneurship and the Moderating Effect of Entrepreneurial Experience (직장인의 학습지향성과 창업의도 간의 관계: 기업가정신의 매개효과 및 창업경험의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Employees with a high learning orientation are more likely to identify a multitude of entrepreneurial opportunities created by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and readily develop innovative solutions. Therefore, understanding the structural link between employees' learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention is of great academic interest. Despite its importance, this relationship remains under-researched. This study investigated the mediating effect of entrepreneurship in the relationship between Korean employees' learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention, and verified the moderating effect of entrepreneurial experience in those relationships. The empirical analysis results of our study are as follows. First, employees' learning orientation had a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. Second, there was a full mediating effect of entrepreneurship in the relationship between employees' learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention. This means that employees with a high learning orientation tend to have high entrepreneurship, and this high entrepreneurship can be a decisive factor in increasing their entrepreneurial intention. Third, the moderating effect of entrepreneurial experience was empirically confirmed in the relationship between learning orientation and entrepreneurship. This indicates that employees with higher learning orientation and more entrepreneurial experience generally exhibit higher levels of entrepreneurship. However, it was confirmed that the interaction term between learning orientation and entrepreneurial experience had a significant negative effect on entrepreneurship. Fourth, it was found that there exists a fully mediated moderation effect of entrepreneurial experience through entrepreneurship in the relationship between learning orientation and entrepreneurial intention.

Development and Evaluation of Trimodal Silver Paste for High-Frequency EMI Shielding Films with a Focus on Flexibility, Durability, and Shielding Characteristics (고주파 EMI 차폐 필름을 위한 트라이모달 실버 페이스트의 개발과 유연성, 내구성 및 차폐 특성에 대한 평가)

  • In the electromagnetic wave shielding material market, superior shielding performance in the high-frequency range, along with flexibility and durability, has emerged as critical requirements. The need for high-performance EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) films to address electromagnetic wave interference issues is growing, particularly in various industrial sectors such as smart electronic devices, automotive electronic systems, and communication equipment. In this study, a trimodal silver paste was developed and fabricated into an EMI film, with its performance evaluated. The developed silver paste, utilizing a modified epoxy binder, exhibited properties suitable for screen printing processes. The film demonstrated excellent shielding performance, with an average attenuation of -99 dB in the high-frequency range of the 5G spectrum (26.5 GHz to 40 GHz), and a shielding effectiveness of -90.3 dB at 33.6 GHz. Flexibility and durability tests showed that the film maintained its flexibility even at a curvature radius of 1 mm. In the bending cycle test, the resistance increased by approximately 25.5% from 0.51 Ω to 0.64 Ω after 10,000 cycles in the outer bending scenario, while in the inner bending scenario, the resistance decreased by about 3.6%, indicating reduced resistance to compressive stress.

  • Steel mill gases, including coke oven gas (COG), blast furnace gas (BFG), and Linz-Donawitz gas (LDG), are mainly used as fuels within steel plants, resulting in substantial CO2 emissions. This combustion process accounts for 10% of South Korea's total CO2 emissions. These off-gases, rich in CO, CH4, and hydrogen, have the potential to be converted into valuable chemicals through catalytic processes, thereby reducing CO2 emissions and increasing their economic value. This study investigates the conversion of steel mill gases into methanol, an important platform chemical and cleaner transportation fuel. By using COG and LDG as sources of CO and H2, respectively, a novel process was developed. In this process, H2-rich COG from a simple single-step membrane separation and raw LDG are converted into methanol with high selectivity using a Cu-Zn-Al catalyst. The study identified the optimal gas compositions for methanol production through experimental results, demonstrating efficient methanol synthesis from various compositions of LDG, COG, pure hydrogen, and H2-rich COG. This innovative approach not only aims to reduce specific CO2 emissions from steel plants but also enhances the economic value of the byproduct gases. Thus, the study provides a sustainable and economically advantageous solution for the steel industry.

Analysis of Learning Effectiveness of an Arts-energy Convergence Extracurricular Program using the Kirkpatrick Model (Kirkpatrick 모형을 적용한 예술-에너지 융합 비교과 프로그램의 학습 효과성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of arts-engineering interdisciplinary education for improving creativity-convergence thinking. Using response data from 263 participants who attended an arts-energy extracurricular program at K University, we applied Kirkpatrick's Four-Level Model for analysis, and used Excel 2018, SPSS 25.0, and Process macro 4.0 software programs. The main findings are as following: (a) Overall means for STEP1: program satisfaction (M=4.43), STEP2: understanding of the program (M=4.52), STEP3: increased interest in energy (M=4.26), and STEP4: expansion of creativity-convergence thinking (M=4.41) were high, indicating effective learning outcomes. (b) While STEP1 did not differ significantly, males showed significantly higher in STEP2 and STEP3 compared to females. Additionally, males and STEM learners was significantly higher in STEP4 than non-STEM learners. (c) STEP1 had a positive effect on STEP2, and STEP3 had a positive effect on STEP4, but STEP2 did not have an effect on STEP3, failing to support the assumption of serial causality in Kirkpatrick's model. STEP1, STEP2, and STEP3 had positive effects on STEP4 directly. STEP2 or STEP3 mediated the relationships between STEP1 and STEP4 respectively. However, STEP2 and STEP3 did not serially mediate the relationships between STEP1 and STEP4. Based on these findings, discussions were held, and implications for academia and practice in the fields of engineering and science education were provided.

Deriving adoption strategies of deep learning open source framework through case studies (딥러닝 오픈소스 프레임워크의 사례연구를 통한 도입 전략 도출)

  • Many companies on information and communication technology make public their own developed AI technology, for example, Google's TensorFlow, Facebook's PyTorch, Microsoft's CNTK. By releasing deep learning open source software to the public, the relationship with the developer community and the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem can be strengthened, and users can perform experiment, implementation and improvement of it. Accordingly, the field of machine learning is growing rapidly, and developers are using and reproducing various learning algorithms in each field. Although various analysis of open source software has been made, there is a lack of studies to help develop or use deep learning open source software in the industry. This study thus attempts to derive a strategy for adopting the framework through case studies of a deep learning open source framework. Based on the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework and literature review related to the adoption of open source software, we employed the case study framework that includes technological factors as perceived relative advantage, perceived compatibility, perceived complexity, and perceived trialability, organizational factors as management support and knowledge & expertise, and environmental factors as availability of technology skills and services, and platform long term viability. We conducted a case study analysis of three companies' adoption cases (two cases of success and one case of failure) and revealed that seven out of eight TOE factors and several factors regarding company, team and resource are significant for the adoption of deep learning open source framework. By organizing the case study analysis results, we provided five important success factors for adopting deep learning framework: the knowledge and expertise of developers in the team, hardware (GPU) environment, data enterprise cooperation system, deep learning framework platform, deep learning framework work tool service. In order for an organization to successfully adopt a deep learning open source framework, at the stage of using the framework, first, the hardware (GPU) environment for AI R&D group must support the knowledge and expertise of the developers in the team. Second, it is necessary to support the use of deep learning frameworks by research developers through collecting and managing data inside and outside the company with a data enterprise cooperation system. Third, deep learning research expertise must be supplemented through cooperation with researchers from academic institutions such as universities and research institutes. Satisfying three procedures in the stage of using the deep learning framework, companies will increase the number of deep learning research developers, the ability to use the deep learning framework, and the support of GPU resource. In the proliferation stage of the deep learning framework, fourth, a company makes the deep learning framework platform that improves the research efficiency and effectiveness of the developers, for example, the optimization of the hardware (GPU) environment automatically. Fifth, the deep learning framework tool service team complements the developers' expertise through sharing the information of the external deep learning open source framework community to the in-house community and activating developer retraining and seminars. To implement the identified five success factors, a step-by-step enterprise procedure for adoption of the deep learning framework was proposed: defining the project problem, confirming whether the deep learning methodology is the right method, confirming whether the deep learning framework is the right tool, using the deep learning framework by the enterprise, spreading the framework of the enterprise. The first three steps (i.e. defining the project problem, confirming whether the deep learning methodology is the right method, and confirming whether the deep learning framework is the right tool) are pre-considerations to adopt a deep learning open source framework. After the three pre-considerations steps are clear, next two steps (i.e. using the deep learning framework by the enterprise and spreading the framework of the enterprise) can be processed. In the fourth step, the knowledge and expertise of developers in the team are important in addition to hardware (GPU) environment and data enterprise cooperation system. In final step, five important factors are realized for a successful adoption of the deep learning open source framework. This study provides strategic implications for companies adopting or using deep learning framework according to the needs of each industry and business.
