Using van Manen's phenomenological qualitative method, this study obtained information through interviews with middle-aged people with disabilities after a stroke. The following main themes were extracted from the lived experiences of middle-aged people with disabilities who were interviewed: 'a life broken in half', 'discontinuity and isolation of life', 'being born again', 'fear of stroke relapse', and 'overcoming all difficulties through harmony in a family'. Therefore, the core theme on the lived experiences of middle-aged people with disabilities after a stroke is a shadow of relapse over lives that have to protect families. The implication of this study's results on policy making and actual practices are discussed focusing on the well-being of people with disabilities and their families.

The subjects were 6,193. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, x2 test and logistic regression analysis using SPSS 25 complex samples Win program. The main findings were that smoking age and smoking behavior were considered as early as the age of smoking, and in case of smoking in the past, the prevalence of chronic disease increased 1.30 times and 2.75 times, respectively. When the subjects' health behaviors and demographic characteristics were simultaneously corrected, the higher the age was, the more they were 0.25 times higher and 0.34 times higher than the graduate level of education. As a result, it is necessary to improve lifestyles such as obesity and lack of exercise, to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in Korean adults, and to pay attention to younger age groups. There is a need to develop interdisciplinary convergent approaches with great interest.

  • This study adopts 'intersectionality' as a key concept of Sheila Levrant de Bretteville's design works. As a method of research, this research suggests the definition of intersectionality, from the idea of black feminism. Analysis of the features are such as 1) Typography of speech, 2) Collection of narrative, and 3) site specific installation. The inclusion of the various situations of the individuals reflected in the design throughout de Bretteville's works has made it possible to guarantee the intersectionality. De Bretteville overthrows the context of the power in which the design is placed, embracing forgotten or less illuminated positions. As a result, this research could derive three implications such as 1) visualization of invisibility, 2) subjectification of object, and 3) demarginalization of marginality. The perspective of the intersectionality are in line with the values of contemporary Korean society and might be an insight for researchers who want to establish a design philosophy.
