  • The transportation industry is one of the important industries due to the geographical requirements surrounded by the sea on three sides of Korea and the problem of resource poverty, which relies on imports for most of its resource consumption. Among them, the proportion of the shipping industry is large enough to account for most of the transportation industry, and maintenance in the shipping industry is also important in improving the operational efficiency and reducing costs of ships. However, currently, inspections are conducted every certain period of time for maintenance of ships, resulting in time and cost, and the cause is not properly identified. Therefore, in this study, the proposed methodology, LSTM-AutoEncoder, is used to detect abnormalities that may cause ship failure by considering the time of actual ship operation data. In addition, clustering is performed through clustering, and the potential causes of ship main engine failure are identified by grouping outlier by factor. This enables faster monitoring of various information on the ship and identifies the degree of abnormality. In addition, the current ship's fault monitoring system will be equipped with a concrete alarm point setting and a fault diagnosis system, and it will be able to help find the maintenance time.

  • The rise of single living has been one of the most important demographic shifts of recent decades. The solo household is a little less than 40% in Europe areas and that of Tokyo is over 45%. Being impacted this figure, the formation of single economy is the key word in World Economic Forum(WEF) 2008. Seoul' single household is increasing rapidly. Between 2000 and 2005, the growth of single person is around 34%, the population of single person reached 700,000 people. Now 20% of total household in Seoul is Single household. Living alone or solo living is not exceptional or special in Seoul Metropolitan City. The rise in single living will create pressures towards poverty and inequality and so on. Seoul should develop and prepare the urban policy for single household. We figured out the four key trends which composed of single household in Seoul. Four types of single person are like below : Gold Mr and Miss, Reserved labor forces, depressed single and silver generation. Gold group is amonst people aged 30 and 40 who is working in the area of white collar and professional. They are usually elective single person household who have chosen solo living. Reserved labor forces group is usually among 20s people who have not get the regular hob. For this group, job acquiring is the most important issue. Depressed single person household group is among people aged late 30s and 40s. Its group is the result from the broken family. The silver group is among aged over 65 that is the main issue of the aged society. In this research, we stressed that people living alone can be split into two types - elective single person households who have chosen single living, and forced single person household who have been constrained to this lifestyle by circumstances. Except gold group, the rest of the group is the forced single household who are faced to poverty. The monthly income of single person household is almost under 2 million won. Single person household is usually working in the blue collar job and service area. So, except gold group that is the smallest part of single person household, almost single person is not the target of private market, but the object of public policy.

  • In recent years, parents of students and government have been taking a growing interest in education for the gifted students and there are many research reports about the gifted education. Most of the reports, however, focuses on the conceptional feature of the gifted education program such as organization, operation, management, evaluation, etc,. In other words, there are very few researches on instructional materials for gifted students even though the materials is a critical factor for successful education programs. So, this paper introduces a lecture notes used in a personal education for gifted students to contribute in developing education contents in computer science area. The instructional materials titled as "The Necessity and Application of Matrix in Computer Science" is based on linear equation to usher the students into creative problem recognition and groping for solutions. Also, the instructional materials is useful for students to understand the tight mathematics-computer science relationship and the basic concept of liner algebra.

  • Health is an essential element of human living and participation in society. Due to its significance, government tries to maintain the healthy life of tis people by providing health care and enhancement systems that focus on health welfare. Despite such efforts, there is still a loophole in the public system. The health problem in socially disadvantaged people, especially single mothers, becomes the cause of poverty, and the poverty again results in the poor health conditions. That is why the private sector became interested in this health issue. In this case study about the participants in the healthcare support programs for single mothers in the private sector, their experience and change related on participation in the programs were investigated in depth. As results, the following significance and quantitative performance in supporting the health right for single mothers were explored. Since single mothers could not have cared for their health because their duty for not only parenting but also family's living, th participants thought that they attained good fortunes and their own social networks. Moreover, their life attitude changed to active and their family relationship was also improved as they got out of ambiguous anxiety of health and attained self confidence.

  • This study attempted to test the scale effect of MAUP, particularly focusing on the spatial autocorrelation of sex crime, correlations among neighborhood structural variables, and causal mechanism leading to sex crime. Analysis results of nation-wide Eup-Myon-Dong and Si-Gun-Gu data discovered that the spatial autocorrelation, correlations among independent variables, and determinant coefficient of multiple regression of Si-Gun-Gu level were generally bigger and stronger than those of Eup-Myon-Dong, which appeared to be due to the averaging effect. Regarding the causal effect to sex crime, two interesting results were found: First, the ratio of non-apartment residency lowered sex crime at both levels contrary to the hypothesis. Second, the ratio of food and lodging increased sex crime only at Eup-Myon-Dong level. These suggested that future research need to perform more detailed analyses dividing data into subsets such as urban vs. rural and/or economically advantaged vs. disadvantaged areas.

  • This study focuses on the following question; self-supporting training program increases participants' income compare to non-participants who have similar characteristics. This question is based on counterfactual assumption. In other words, this study concentrates on what the outcomes would have been if the participants were to be absent. This study adopts a quasi-experimental design. To overcome previous study's methodological weaknesses, especially selection bias, I applied matching procedure based on a propensity-score matching. Matching process was performed by using 'MatchIt' software. The major findings are as follows From Least Squares Regression analysis, I found the poor's income are significantly different according to age, pre-intervention earning, material status, and participation of training. Since the poor have homogeneous education level, education variable was not statistically significant. From the Simulation Quantities of Interest analysis, I also found that treatment group's expected incomes are lower than control's expected incomes. In other words, participation of training has a negative effect on the participants' earnings.

  • Recently, our society has been changing its population structure due to low birth rate along with the extension of life span due to the development of medical environment and improvement of living environment. It was not long before the population became older, and the problem of the elderly was amplified by generational conflict. The current generation of senior citizens could not afford to prepare for their own retirement income due to their children's education, marriage and housing problems, and is a generation alienated from the benefits of public income security. In addition, not only are they in poverty with rapid industrialization, informatization and economic instability, but they are also threatened with livelihood. The increase in elderly crimes arising from the elderly, who are less adaptable to our society dominated by materialism, is being highlighted as a new social issue. In this study, we are going to analyze the causes of violent and violent senior citizens' crimes in quality along with quantitative growth, and present criminal situations and preventive measures using 10 years of data, judging that this is a time when a national response is needed through a social discussion on crimes committed by senior citizens in our society, where the pace of aging is unprecedentedly fast in the world In order to achieve this research objective, various opinions and statistical data of our society where the standards of senior citizens are changing were reviewed, and analysis of crimes was conducted on literature utilizing data of the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office, the National Police Agency, and the National Statistical Office, recent press releases, and existing research materials. In this study, we will diagnose crimes committed by senior citizens in various aspects, including the characteristics of the elderly and the view of the elderly in the present society, and explore the direction of development for the prevention of future crimes as well.

  • This paper develops the argument that the 'Healthy Cities Approach' extends beyond the boundaries of officially designated Healthy Cities and suggests that signs of it are evident much more widely in efforts to promote health in the United Kingdom and in national policy. It draws on examples from Leeds, a major city in the north of England. In particular, it suggests that efforts to improve population health need to focus on the wider determinants and that this requires a collaborative response involving a range of different sectors and the participation of the community. Inequality is recognised as a major issue and the need to identify areas of deprivation and direct resources towards these is emphasised. Childhood poverty is referred to and the importance of breaking cycles of deprivation. The role of the school is seen as important in contributing to health generally and the compatibility between Healthy Cities and Health Promoting Schools is noted. Not only can Health Promoting Schools improve the health of young people themselves they can also develop the skills, awareness and motivation to improve the health of the community. Using child pedestrian injury as an example, the paper argues that problems and their cause should not be conceived narrowly. The Healthy Cities movement has taught us that the response, if it is to be effective, should focus on the wider determinants and be adapted to local circumstances. Instead of simply attempting to change behaviour through traditional health education we need to ensure that the environment is healthy in itself and supports healthy behaviour. To achieve this we need to develop awareness, skills and motivation among policy makers, professionals and the community. The 'New Health' education is proposed as a term to distinguish the type of health education which addresses these issues from more traditional forms.
