Flexible Multibody Dynamic Analysis of the Wiper System for Automotives (자동차 와이퍼 시스템의 유연 다물체 동역학 해석)

  • This paper presents the dynamic analysis method for estimating the performance of flat-type blades in wiper systems. The blade has nonlinear characteristics since the rubber is a hyper-elastic material. Thus, modal coordinate and absolute nodal coordinate formulations were used to describe the dynamic characteristic of the blade. The blade was structurally analyzed to find the bending characteristics of the cross section of the blade. According to the analysis results, the blade section is divided into three deformation bodies: rigid, small, and large. For the small deformation body, the modal coordinate formulation is used, while the absolute nodal coordinate formulation is used for the large deformation body. To verify the dynamic analysis result, an experiment was performed. The simulation and experiment results were compared to verify the flexible multi-body dynamic model.

  • A bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is a hollow cylinder, which is bonded to a solid steel shaft at its inner surface and a steel sleeve at its outer surface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft and the relative deformation of a bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. A force-displacement relation for bushings is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations. For the nonlinear viscoelastic axial response, Pipkin-Rogers model, the direct relation of force and displacement, has been derived from Lianis model and the sinusoidal input was used fer Pipkin-Rogers model, and the affection of displacement with frequency change was studied with Pipkin-Rogers model.

Analysis of Dynamic Equilibrium Configuration of Speed Governor (조속기의 동적 평형위치 해석)

  • This paper proposes a method to obtain the dynamic equilibrium configuration of a constrained mechanical system by using multibody dynamic analysis. Dynamic equilibrium equations with independent coordinates are derived from the time-dependent constraint equations and dynamic equations of a multibody system. The Newton-Raphson method is used to find numerical solutions for nonlinear algebraic equations that are composed of the dynamic equilibrium and constraint equations. The proposed method is applied to obtain the dynamic equilibrium configuration of a speed governor, and the results are verified on the basis of the results from conventional dynamic analysis. Furthermore, vertical displacements at equilibrium configuration, which varied with the rotational velocity of the speed governor, are calculated, and design parameter analysis of the equilibrium configuration is presented.

Since a force-displacement relation for bushings is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations, the relation is expressed in terms of a force relaxation function and a method of determination by experiments on bushings has been developed. For the nonlinear viscoelastic axial response, Pipkin-Rogers model, the direct relation of force and displacement, has been derived from experiment. It is shown that the predictions by the proposed force-displacement relation are in very good agreement with the experimental results.

인공위성 전개장치용 테잎힌지 특성 해석

  • 본 논문에서는 인공위성 전개장치용 테잎힌지 특성해석을 수행하고 그 결과에 대하여 분석하였다. 테잎힌지를 이용한 전개장치는 신뢰성이 높고, 형상이 매우 단순하며, 제작단가 또한 저렴하여 우주용 안테나 및 태양전지판에 널리 이용이 되고 있다. 테잎힌지를 이용한 전개장치의 전개특성은 테잎힌지 특성에 의하여 좌우가 되므로 안전성 있는 전개장치 설계를 수행하기 위해서는 가능한 정확한 해석이나 계산이 요구되어진다. 초기에는 쉘 이론등을 바탕으로 테잎힌지의 전개특성을 계산하는 식들이 연구되었으나 테잎힌지의 강한 비선형성 때문에 정확성이 많이 떨어지는 큰 단점이 존재하였다. 이후 많은 연구를 통하여 유한요소모델을 이용한 비선형해석을 통하여 비로소 정확한 전개특성을 해석할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 다물체 동역학해석프로그램인 리커다인의 유연체 해석모듈을 이용하여 테잎힌지에 대한 특성해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 신뢰성 있는 테잎힌지의 전개거동 확인 및 전개특성을 계산할 수 있었다.

Impact Dynamic Analysis for the Wheel-Type Landing Gear System of Helicopter (헬리콥터 휠타입 착륙장치 충돌특성 연구)

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics for the wheel-type landing gear system of helicopter have been analyzed. Nonlinear multi-body dynamic models of the landing gear system are constructed and the equations of motion, kinematics and internal forces of shock strut are considered. In addition, flexibility effect of the wheel axle with equivalent beam element is taken into account. General purpose commercial finite code, SAMCEF which includes MECANO module is applied. The results of dynamic simulation for various landing and weight conditions are presented and compared with each other. Based on the results, characteristics of impact dynamic behaviors of the landing gear system are practically investigated.

  • In this paper, dynamic modeling with viscoelastic properties of a human body resting on a seat is presented to quantitatively analyze ride quality of passengers exposed to vertical vibrations. In describing the motions of a seated body, a 5 degree-of-freedom multibody model from the literature is investigated. The viscoelastic characteristics of seats used in railway vehicles are mathematically formulated with nonlinear stiffness characteristics and convolution integrals representing time delay terms. Transfer functions for the floor input are investigated and it is found that these are different in accordance with the input magnitude due to nonlinear characteristics of the seat. Measured floor input at the railway vehicle is used to analyze realistic human vibration characteristics. Frequency weighted RMS acceleration values are calculated and the effects of the seat design parameters on the frequency weighted RMS acceleration values are presented.

  • In this study, analysis of structural design criteria for the canopy actuating device has been conducted considering the aerodynamic breakaway capabilities of jettisonable canopy system. Unsteady aerodynamic loads for the opened canopy configuration at passively controlled jettision mode were computed using CFD method. The general purpose multi-body finite element code, SAMCEF Mecano, is used in the implemented analyses for the passive jettision condition. The recommended altitude and speed of aircraft was suggested as design criteria of aerodynamic breakaway capability of jettisonable canopy system as a bakup egress method when normal canopy jettison sequence malfunctioned. Aerodynamic breakaway condition of jettisonable canopy was also simulated and the fracture load conditions of canopy actuator were investigated.

Modeling and Verification of Multibody Dynamics Model of Military Vehicle Using Measured Data (실차 측정 정보를 이용한 군용 차량의 다물체 동역학 모델링 및 검증)

  • It is essential to perform driving performance tests of military vehicles on rough terrain. A full car test is limited by cost and time constraints, because of which a dynamic analysis via computer simulation is preferred. In this study, a vehicle model is developed using MSC.ADAMS, a commercial multibody analysis program, and compared via experiments. FTire is modeled using the results of a tire performance test to obtain the vertical stiffness. A nonlinear damper is modeled by a characteristic experiment. Leaf springs are modeled with beam force elements and consisted to a vehicle model. The vertical force and acceleration response of the wheel are identified when vehicle is passing over a simple bump as well as a sinusoidal road. The developed vehicle model is verified with the results of a full car test.

The relation between the force and moment applied to the shaft and the relative deformation and rotational angle of a bushing exhibits features of viscoelasticity. Since a moment-rotational angle relation for a bushing is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations, the simple relation between the moment and rotational angle has been derived from experiment. It is shown that the predictions by the proposed moment-rotational angle relation are in very good agreement with the experimental results.
