복합베어링을 갖는 고속 고감쇠 주축개발에 관한 연구

  • 상품의 다양화 추세에 따라 생산형태가 다품종 소량화가 되고 복잡한 가공공정을 갖는 공작물이 꾸준이 증가하고 있어 이를 뒷바침 하는 복합 가공공정과 복합 다기능 공작기계의 기술개발이 어느때 보다 중요한 과제로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 주축베어링 시스템의 장단점을 보완하여 주축의 정.동특성 및 고속성을 개선할 수 있는 볼베어링과 유정압베어링의 복합베어링 시스템을 주축베어링 으로 제안하고 그 성능을 이론적으로 실험적으로 검증하기 위해 복합베어링 주축과 기존 주축의 동특성 변화를 분석하였다.

Cluster Priority Selection Algorithm for Minimizing Surplus Parts in Ball Bearing Selective Assembly System (볼 베어링 선택조립 시스템에서 잉여부품 최소화를 위한 군집 우선 선택 알고리즘)

  • In order to minimize surplus parts in ball bearing selective assembly systems, it is necessary to optimize the selection probability by grasping the dimensional distribution of each part. But the use of a complex system causes delays in the production process. In this paper, we propose cluster priority selection algorithm that can quickly and simply determine the selection priority in ball bearing selective assembly system. In addition, we assume the simulated situation with the data collected in the actual ball bearing selective assembly process, and evaluate the incidence of surplus part and runtime by simulating the cluster priority selection algorithm and the exiting algorithm. As a result of the simulation, the cluster priority selection algorithm generated 83.8% less surplus parts, and 39.7% less runtime than the existing algorithm.

  • Since real-time monitoring system like a fault early detection has been very important, infrared thermography technique as a new diagnosis method was proposed. This study is focused on the damage detection and temperature characteristic analysis of ball bearing using the non-destructive infrared thermography method. In this paper, for the reliability assessment, infrared experimental data were compared with the frequency data of the existing. As results, the temperature characteristics of ball bearing were analyzed under various loading conditions. Finally it was confirmed that the infrared technique was useful for real-time detection of the bearing damages.

  • 정격속도 100,000RPM용 원심분리기(centrifuge) 로터베어링계에 대해 회전체동역학 해석이 수행된다. 시스템은 원심분리기 로터, 유연축, 모터 로터와 축, 그리고 모터축 지지용 두 개의 구름베어링으로 구성된다. 설계목표는 정격속도가 위험속도(critical speed)에 대해 충분한 분리여유를 갖고, 위험속도에서 로터의 양호한 불균형응답특성을 이루어 내는 것이다. 후자의 요구조건은, 시스템이 다수의 위험속도를 통과하며 정격속도 주위에서 충분한 분리 여유를 갖지 않을 수도 있기 때문에 특히 중요하다. 시스템에 초유연축(extra-flexible shaft)을 도입함으로써, 비록 1차 위험속도에서 만족스럽지 못한 큰 불균형응답을 가질지라도 고차 위험속도에서 만족스런 작은 불균형응답을 보인다. 1차 위험속도에서 로터의 큰 변위를 억제하기 위해서 범퍼링(bumper ring) 또는 안내베어링(guide bearing)을 유연축의 적절한 위치에 설치할 필요가 있다. 비록 유연축계라 할지라도 정격속도와 가까운 4차 이상의 고차 위험속도를 정확히 규명하기 위해서는 모터의 동역학을 전체시스템에 결합하여야 함을 볼 수 있다. 해석은 유한요소법(finite element method)에 의해 수행된다.

  • Monitoring and diagnosis of the operating machine mean evaluating the condition of a machine such as the detection of the defects and the prediction of the time to failure in the machine elements, while it is running. In this study, a technique of automatic diagnosis using probability concept is studied and the analyses of the pattern comparison are introduced. An expert system, which is able to analyze the automatic identification of the multiple defects in the ball bearings, is also developed. Finally, to confirm the effectiveness of the programmed algorithms, some tests were made with specimens of the ball bearings involving the multiple defects. The proposed system reasonably predicts the defects.

Development of Diagnostic Expert System for Rotating Machinery Failure Diagnosis (볼베어링으로 지지된 회전축의 이상상태 진단을 위한 진단전문가 시스템의 개발)

  • In this study a neural network based expert system designed to diagnose operating status of a rotating spindle system supported by ball bearings was introduced. In order to facilitate practical failure situations, five exemplary abnormal status was fabricated. Out of several possible data source locations, seven most effective spots were chosen and proven to be the most successful in predicting single and multiple abnormalities. Increased signal strength was measured around where abnormality was embedded. Signal mea-surement locations producing high prediction rate were also classified. Even though multiple abnormalities were hard to be decoupled into their individual causes, proposed diagnostic system was somewhat effective in predicting such cases under certain combination of sensor locations. Among several abnormal operating conditions, highest prediction rate can be expected when signal is spoiled by the failure or damage in outer race. Proposed diagnostic system was again proven to be the most effective system in analyzing and ranking the importance of data sources.

  • We propose a finite element modeling method considering the ball bearing contact mechanism, and the developed method was verified through experimental and analytical results of inner and outer race-type rotor systems. A comparison of the proposed method with conventional method reveals that there is little difference in the results of the inner race-type rotor system, but there are considerable differences in the results of the outer race-type rotor system such that predictions of greater accuracy can be made. Therefore, the proposed method can be used for accurately predicting the dynamic characteristics of an outer race-type rotary machine.

  • This paper proposes the state-space model of the thermal behavior of the spindle system to establish dynamic mathematical model of thermal characteristics in machine tool spindle system. the model is derived form physical law of heat transfer and thermoelasticity and represents the thermal behavior induced by uneven thermal expansions whitin a bearing. The model, which is sucessfully validated for two typical configurations of high speed spindle assembles, provides a tool for understanding the basis mechanics of induced thermal expansion as a function of initial preload, spindle speed and housing cooling conditions.

  • This study aims to evaluate the stress and life of cylindrical roller bearings used in aircraft gearboxes, and to select a roller profile that minimises the contact stress between bearing rollers and raceways. The mounting clearance of four points contact ball bearing was determined, so that cylindrical roller bearings support all radial loads, and the bearing mounting position was determined to maximise the bearing lives. In addition, the static safety factor and dynamic life of bearing were predicted according to ISO 76 & ISO/TS 16281 using the load spectrum determined based on the operating load cases of aircraft gearboxes. Furthermore, the optimal roller profile was selected by analysing the contact stress according to the roller profile shape, and the safety of each roller was evaluated. The results stated that the required safety factor and lifetime were satisfied, and Johns Gohar roller profile was optimal.

  • In this paper we proposed and implemented a diagnosis system to control nuclear fuel handling machine. The proposed system consists of data acquisition system, diagnosis algorithm and faults simulator. Since the test on real operation of the fuel handling machine is impossible, we evaluated the proposed system by diagnosis experiments using the faults simulator, with which test signals on abnormal states of the bearing ball and the inner race of the bearing are generated. The experiments showed that resulting diagnosis analysis are consistent with the theoretical expectations.
