High Performance SoC On-chip-bus Architecture with Multiple Channels and Simultaneous Routing (다중 채널과 동시 라우팅 기능을 갖는 고성능 SoC 온 칩 버스 구조)

  • Up to date, a lot of bus protocol and bus architecture are released though most of them are based on the shared bus architecture and inherit the limitation of performance. SNP (SoC Network Protocol), and hence, SNA (SoC Network Architecture) which are high performance on-chip-bus protocol and architecture, respectively, have been proposed to solve the problems of the conventional shared bus. We refine the SNA specification and improve the performance and functionality. The performance of the SNA is improved by supporting simultaneous routing for bus request of multiple masters. The internal routing logic is also improved so that the gate count is decreased. The proposed SNA employs XSNP (extended SNP) that supports almost perfect compatibility with AMBA AHB protocol without performance degradation. The hardware complexity of the improved SNA is not increased much by optimizing the current routing logic. The improved SNA works for IPs with the original SNP at its best performance. In addition, it can also replace the AMBA AHB or interconnect matrix of a system, and it guarantees simultaneous multiple channels. That is, the existing AMBA system can show much improved performance by replacing the AHB or the interconnect matrix with the SNA. Thanks to the small number of interconnection wires, the SNA can be used for the off-chip bus system, too. We verify the performance and function of the proposed SNA and XSNP simulation and emulation.

  • 본 연구는 대중교통 활용도를 높이고자 효율적인 버스 환승지 추천 서비스를 설계한다. 제주데이터 허브에서 입수한 승하차데이터를 처리하여 승객수와 버스의 정류장 도착시간 등을 예측함은 물론 인터넷 연결을 통해 버스정보시스템과 연동하여 현재의 교통상황을 실시간으로 입수하여 효율적인 환승지를 추천한다. 승객은 변동되는 교통상황에 따라 이동중에도 더 좋은 환승 노선으로 변경할 수 있으며 데이터센터 관점에서는 축적되고 있는 버스 데이터의 활용도도 높일 수 있다.

Factors Influencing Crash Severity by the Types of Bus Transportation Services Using Ordered Probit Models (순서형 프로빗 모형을 이용한 버스 운송사업 유형 별 사고심각도 영향요인 분석)

  • Buses, one of the representative public transportation modes, are divided into a vareity of service types according to the purpose of operation, operating distance, and management agencies. Although bus-involved crashes may cause large amount of damage due to the higher number of passengers boarded on a bus, prior research has little focused on crash severity according to bus service types. This study aims to investigate factors influencing crash severity in bus-involved crashes and to present policy implications to reduce crash severity by bus service type. To do this, bus-involved crash data from the Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS) during five-year period are used. Ordered probit models for three types of bus service, i.e., city bus, suburban and express buses, and charter buses, are estimated to analyze the factors of accident severity. The results show that there are significant differences of factors affecting crash severity among the types of bus services while speed and road surface influence all the types of buses. In case of local buses, time of day, roadway alignment, and installation of a traffic signal are found to be statistically significant factors. Seat belt and road class have significant effects on injury severity of the intercity and express buses. Chartered buses have time of day, driving experience, seatbelt, traffic signal, and day of week as the significant factors. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the reduction of the crash severity by each bus service type.

A Study on the Factors Affecting to Service Satisfaction of Intra-city Bus Users (시내버스 이용자의 서비스만족 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • After enforcing 2007 semi-public management system of intra-city bus, Busan city has tried to promote the bus utilization through bus service improvements. As an effort for this, we attempted to clarify the main factors affecting to bus service satisfaction targeting intra-city bus users. In this study, 20 subcategories of intra-city bus service were assorted into 6 factors: Basic Service, Safe Driving, Route Information, Comfort, Cleanliness and Facilities, then the preference for each detailed bus service were analyzed. And the effects for bus service satisfaction were shown under the various conditions according to the general characteristics of intra-city bus users (gender, age), behavioral traffic characteristics (frequency of use, boarding time) and transportation environments (temperature, rainfall). These results would be important basic data for decision-making in bus policy for climate change and establishment of operating plan for bus utilization.

A Study on Development of Bus Bunching Duration Model (버스몰림운행 지속시간 추정모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The present study aims at estimating the model of bus bunching duration along with its influential determinants in an attempt to understand the status of bus bunching being created by buses from various routes converging into one bus stop. To do so, the duration analysis, a well-known survival analysis, was adopted in order to capture the distribution of duration time as for 8 base lines, accordingly developing the model best fit for weibull distribution. Key attention to draw out the duration time model for bus bunching phenomena was laid, by analyzing 18 impact factors, on such criterion variables as number of berth, number of bus line in each berth and maximum capacity of on-and-off passengers in each line. Comparison in two typical types of bus lane was made between bus-only center lane(Dobong Mia-ro) and normal street-side lane(Tongil Euiju-ro). In this regard, the study, based on the model as above, suggested appropriate alternatives to improve the bus operation by effectively controlling bus bunching.

Performance Analysis of Bandwidth-Awared Bus Arbitration Method (점유율을 고려한 버스 중재방식의 성능 분석)

  • The general bus system architecture consists of masters, slaves, arbiter, decoder and so on in shared bus. As several masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in bus arbitration. In compliance with the selection of arbitration method, The efficiency of bus usage can be determined. Fixed Priority, Round-Robin, TDMA, Lottery arbitration are studied in conventional arbitration method. Conventional arbitration method is considered bus priority primarily, actual bus utilization didn't considered. In this paper, we propose arbitration method using bus utilization operating block of each master, we verify the performance compared with the other arbitration methods through throughput performance. From the result of performance verification, we confirm that proposed arbitration method, matched bus utilization set by the user 40%, 20%, 20%, 20%.

  • The conventional bus system architecture consists of masters, slaves, arbiter, decoder and so on in shared bus. As several masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in arbitrating the bus. The efficiency of bus usage can be determined by the selection of arbitration method. Fixed Priority, Round-Robin, TDMA and Lottery arbitration policies are studied in the conventional arbitration method where the bus priority is primarily considered. In this paper, we propose the arbitration method that calculates the bus utilization of each master. Furthermore, we verify the performance compared with the other arbitration methods through TLM(Transaction Level Model). From the results of performance verification, the arbitration methods of Fixed Priority and Round-Robin can not set the bus utilization and those of TDMA and Lottery happen the error of 50% and 70% respectively compared with bus utilization set by user in more than 100,000 cycles. On the other hand, the bandwidth-award bus arbitration method remains the error of less than 1% since approximately 1000 cycles, compared with bus utilization set by user.

Publicness of the Exterior Bus Advertising (버스외부광고의 공공성에 관한 연구)

  • Due to its intrinsic characteristic, exterior bus advertising is exposed to an unspecified number of the general public. Thus it influences on the urban publicness of the city, simply beyond leaving it as a personal marketing activity toward the industry's profit. Seoul city's campaign to improve exterior bus advertising has been to effective in removing advertisements of alcohols, tobaccos, and lascivious contents, however, there still are several advertisements that should be examined from the view point of publicness. For the case of UK, where exterior bus advertising is also actively utilizing owing to its high exposure and effectiveness, they are administrating it by setting up guidelines and regarding the importance of publicness. I also identified the meaning of publicness of exterior bus advertising from the aspects of 'publicness of territories', 'publicness of subjects', 'publicness of reasoning', and 'publicness of procedures'. Through this, I suggested that both commercial right of exterior bus advertising in the private sector and citizen's right of publicness can be harmoniously developed by properly controlling and administrating the exterior bus advertising. Furthermore, artistic approach to the exterior bus advertising from the viewpoint of city environment is expected to elevate the aesthetic possession and the level of design sense of citizens.

  • 현재의 메타버스 서비스는 메타버스 학술대회, 메타버스 입학식 등과 같이 단순히 실제 세계의 대체품 역할만을 수행하고 있으며 앞으로의 메타버스는 실제 세계와 가상 세계가 융합된 실·가상 융합형 메타버스 서비스로 발전할 것이다. 실제 세계와 가상 세계가 융합하기 위해서는 실제 세계에 존재하는 다양한 물리적 개체의 정보가 가상 세계로 반영되어야 하며 메타버스 서비스의 규모가 증가함에 따라 높은 확장성을 지원하는 통신 기술이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 높은 확장성의 통신 미들웨어인 DDS와 시간 확정적 전송을 보장하는 TSN 표준을 융합하여 메타버스 서비스가 요구하는 방대한 데이터를 시간 확정적으로 전송할 수 있는 DDS-TSN 계층 구조를 설계한다.

  • 본 연구는 메타버스 플랫폼에서 사용자 간의 커뮤니티 사회성을 형성해 가는 과정에서 성격의 5요인이 미치는 영향에 대하여 살펴보고 상호 간에 유의미한 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 성격 5요인의 특성으로는 신경성, 외향성, 우호성, 성실성, 개방성의 다섯 가지 요소가 있으며 이는 메타버스 가상공간에서 사용자 간의 통합 및 경쟁, 게임과 같은 시스템을 통하여 사회 형성에 많은 영향을 미칠 것이다. 성격 5요인과 반대적 성격 5요인은 메타버스 사용에서 개인의 성격을 강화하거나 약화시킬 수 있고 사용시간, 참여율, 만족도 면에서도 다른 결과를 보여줄 것이다. 소통을 중요시하는 메타버스에서 사용자의 성격에 따른 섬세한 콘텐츠 제시는 분명 더 나은 콘텐츠로 시장에 경쟁력이 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 메타버스의 사용이 개인의 성격에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것이며, 메타버스 내에서 사용자 성격 5요인 성향을 정립하고 이를 통해 차세대 플랫폼 구축 및 개발에 도움이 되고자 한다.
