Men are ambivalent since they have good and evil at the same time. To concretize this evil further, men created symbolic icons of evil with formative elements by giving shape to it. Thus, this researcher would investigate and analyze the concept of evil and the formativeness appearing when the essence of humans' evil is expressed as symbolic icons. For this purpose, items for the classification of formativeness were constructed, and questionnaires were prepared to draw the results of an analysis as follows. As for the type of composition, symbolic icons of evil were expressed by pictures or signs, rather than letters. The objects of expression were characters and animals in myths. As for the layout, most were expressed in a radial shape. As for the method of description, most were in the forms of simplicity and complexity, and as for the outer form, most were circles. It was noted that the symbolic icons in which items with these types of composition had high scores, were drawn, used and developed in formative relations with each other.

This paper describes a visual programming tool which provides novice programmer as well expert with the abilites to capture real physical world of problem domain and to manipulate it user-friendly using icons and symbols. Therefore, novice can understand object-oriented features of C++ incrementally and construct classes easily. For this, we introduce some visual metaphors which are displayed as tables. The tables can not only represent objects and classes, but also be considered themselves as icons. We have named these tables as table-icons. Three levels of table-icons(i.e., Super Table-Icons, Intermediate Table-Icons and Detailed Table-Icons) are proposed to follow up appropriate evolution of object-oriented concepts. Table-icons are not simple pictographs but are activated and expanded to table forms. And then, developer can inset necessary entities into table body and delete useless entities from it. These table-icons are applied to a diagramming technique, C++gram[18], which is suggested for designing and implementing C++ programs.
The study documents the analysis on characters and symbols shown in the pavement markings in the perspective of mathematics educators. The purpose of this study is to propose a pavement marking method that can enhance readability from the driver's eye position. To this end, this study analyzed the figure of the pavement markings that can be actually recognized by the projective geometry perspective. As a result, it proposed alternatives to the current pavement markings by introducing the concept of the compression ratio. Results of the study are as follows. First, the rule was established to obtain the compression ratio. If the observation of two viewing angles are x and y, then the compression ratio S is ${\sin}y/{\cos}\(\frac{x-y}{2}\)$. Second, we presented two alternatives to the pavement marking method for the displayed information. One is a method for improving the pavement markings in terms of the compression ratio, the other is a method by varying vertical length of the pavement markings while holding its width constant. Based on the outcomes from this study, a mathematical analysis can be further studied for the perception of speed according to the types of pavement marking line.

This study defined the name of records producing institution as the unique preferred form of access point which has same identification and same entity by using Standard Administration Code, and also described the name of records producing institution which has various name form as formal-name form of access point, which has same identification and same entity. This study make us be able to identify and access to all of the records that institution, has same identification and same entity, has produced. And the mechanic, I designed by ontology would make reinforce 'the principle of provenance' and 'respect for orignal order' and make user satisfy in useability of archives and expanded retrieval results.
On an automated business document processing system maintaining financial data, errors on query based retrieval of numbers are critical to overall performance and usability of the system. Automatic spelling correction methods have been emerged and have played important role in development of information retrieval system. However scope of the methods was limited to the symbols, for example alphabetic letter strings, which can be reserved in the form of trainable templates or custom dictionary. On the other hand, numbers, a sequence of digits, are not the objects that can be reserved into a dictionary but a pure markov sequence. In this paper we proposed a new OCR model for spelling correction for numbers using the multiple streams and the context based correction on top of probabilistic information retrieval framework. We implemented the proposed error correction model as a sub-module and integrated into an existing automated invoice document processing system. We also presented the comparative test results that indicated significant enhancement of overall precision of the system by our model.

Network topology design is a multiobjective problem with various design components. The components such as cost, message delay and reliability are important to gain the best performance. Recently, Genetic Algorithms(GAs) have been widely used as an optimization method for real-world problems such as combinatorial optimization, network topology design, and so on. This paper proposed a method of Multi-objective GA for Design of the network topology which is to minimize connection cost and message delay time. A common difficulty in multiobjective optimization is the existence of an objective conflict. We used the prufer number and cluster string for encoding, parato elimination method and niche-formation method for the fitness sharing method, and reformation elitism for the prevention of pre-convergence. From the simulation, the proposed method shows that the better candidates of network architecture can be found.
Starting the popularity of Korean dramas exported to China in 1996, the Korean wave started around the world market. Afterwards, as the Korean culture itself as well as dramas rapidly emerged as contents of the Korean market, the foreign direct sale consumers who want to buy Korean goods directly online are increasing at an alarming rate. This study each selected 4 domestic shopping malls and 4 foreign famous shopping malls which were conducting a global marketing currently and compared/researched them in the design aspect in order to apprehend if domestic online shopping malls were properly meeting the consumer environment of the foreign market. As a result, it was revealed that domestic online shopping malls conducting the global marketing could not fully understand the internet environment by countries and were going through a limit of the information delivery by SMS, and could not use the visual signs actively which were useful to the meaning delivery. Accordingly, this thesis suggested a plan to actively utilize the variable element considering various screens to the design, plan to efficiently design the text for solving the language problem by countries, and plan to design using the developing IT technology as a solution to those problems.

Most terrain information have been generally acquired by map. Because the map presents the real terrain, not by real figure but by contours, geometric figures, symbols, texts, and colors, it is not easy to interpret the real terrain by map. For this reason, aerial photos or terrestrial photos also have been used sometimes in the terrain analysis. But photos have geometrical displacement caused by the position of camera at the exposition time and the relief of the object. So, for accurate posional analysis, orthophoto maps produced by optical rectifier have been used. But, it is hard to produce orthophoto map by optical rectifier and the process is so slow. This study aims to present an accurate and rapid method to produce orthophoto map by generating digital elevation model from stereo aerial photos on common computer using the digital photogrammetric technique and producing orthophoto map digitally using the digital elevation model.

Computerized map reading system is one of the most important application areas in the image processing.A map databaes can be used for a wide range of scial activities such as narural resource assessment, regional plan-ming,and reaffic nabigation system. The road segments, however, are extracted as briken in the area where they are overlapped and interupted by chracters and symbols.Few approaches have been taken to complete road segnents interupted by map symbols. In this paper,a movel approach for the extracation and completion of road segements interupted by map symbols is proposed using neural networks. The system is applied to 1/25,000 scaled maps published by the Grographical Survey Unstitute of Ministry of Construction of Korea. It will be shown that the system can extract and reconstruct road segmetns for the various areas of maps sucessfully.
This study identified the meaning of mathematical justification and its characteristics for middle school math gifted students. 17 middle school math gifted students participated in questionnaires and written exams. Results show that the gifted students recognized justification in various meanings such as proof, systematization, discovery, intellectual challenge of mathematical justification, and the preference for deductive justification. As a result of justification exams, there was a difference in algebra and geometry. While there were many deductive justifications in both algebra and geometry questionnaires, the difference exists in empirical justifications: there were many empirical justifications in algebra, but there were few in geometry questions. When deductive justification was completed, the students showed satisfaction with their own justification. However, they showed dissatisfaction when they could not deductively justify the generality of the proposition using mathematical symbols. From the results of the study, it was found that justification education that can improve algebraic translation ability is necessary so that gifted students can realize the limitations and usefulness of empirical reasoning and make deductive justification.
