  • In this study, we proposed an efficient model that can detect and classify the drones and related devices based on radio frequency signals. In order to increase the applicability in the battlefield, proposed model was designed to be lightweight, to ensure rapid detection and high detection accuracy. Data preprocessing was performed by applying a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) that is faster than Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT). We adopted the LightGBM model as the learning model, which can be easily used by non-professionals and guarantees excellent performance in terms of classification speed and accuracy. CardRF dataset was used to verify the performance of the proposed model. As a result of the experiment, the accuracy of 3 classes classification for detecting and classifying drones, WiFi, and Bluetooth device was 99.63% when the number of sample points was set to 100k and 99.40% when set to 500k during the data preprocessing with DFT. And, in the 10 classes classification for 6 drones, 2 Bluetooth devices, and 2 WiFi devices, the accuracy was 95.65% for 100k and 96.83% for 500k, confirming significantly improved detection performance compared to previous studies.

  • Kim Eung-ha, who died in the Battle of Sarhū, was a symbolic figure of loyalty to Ming Dynasty in late Chosŏn Korea. Chungneyllok which was a memorial for Kim had published four times from from 1621-1796. This study reviews existing copies of Chungyellok, categorizes them in four groups, and speculates its publishing date and analyzes the differences of each edition. As a result, Chungnyellok seems published several times based on its first edition till late 17th Century, regardless of the fact that the book contains writings and poems of "traitors" of King Injo's Restoration (仁祖反正). Compared to the former editions, the last edition published in 1796 is much more sophisticated and completed one and removed the works of the politically problematic figures from its main text. By reviewing those copies, we can find out that the first edition had to published in the diplomatic situation after the Battle of Sarhū to enhance its relationship with Ming Dynasty because two other Chosŏn generals chose to surrender to Manchurians. But the 18th Century edition shows the tendency of changing identity of Chosŏn as "little China (小中華)" after the fall of Ming Dynasty. Kim Eung-ha was also repainted as a loyal subject of Ming, rather than a guardian of Chosŏn.

  • This study investigated the origin and mineralogical-geochemical characteristics of a small ferromanganese (Fe-Mn) nodule sample obtained from the abyssal seafloor of the Magellan Seamount cluster. To this end, X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence analyses were conducted. The dark brown Fe-Mn oxides constituting the nodule had a homogeneous texture without distinguishable layers, forming around three distinct nuclei. The oxides had a low average Mn/Fe ratio of 0.73 (0.24-1.10) and were characterized by high Co content (0.41-0.85 wt.%, average = 0.58 wt.%) as well as low Ni (0.06-1.24 wt.%, average = 0.55 wt.%) and Cu (0.27-1.02 wt.%, average = 0.59 wt.%) concentrations. The maximum age of the nodule was estimated at 0.52 Ma, suggesting that it began forming during the transition from the glacial to the interglacial periods in the middle Pleistocene. The Fe-Mn oxide layer comprised vernadite, smectite, quartz, and feldspar, while the nuclei were composed of soft sediments. The presence of vernadite, a typical hydrogenetic Fe-Mn oxide mineral, along with the low Mn/Fe ratio, high Co content, and low Ni and Cu concentrations, indicates that Fe-Mn nodules on the abyssal seafloor of the Magellan Seamount cluster in the western Pacific Ocean formed through hydrogenetic processes.

  • To predict the ground subsidence caused by mines, various evaluation methods were applied to cases of ground subsidence in Korea, and the results were compared and analyzed. Continuous subsidence, which is relatively easily and accurately predicted, was excluded in this analysis. The stress arch - volumetric expansion method, limit equilibrium method, numerical analysis, probabilistic method, and evaluation method of the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KO MIR) were applied to 36 subsidence cases, including subsidence location, width, and depth, and goaf width, depth, and incline data. The stress arch - volumetric expansion method was the most accurate with an accuracy of ~92%. In the case of the KOMIR method, the regression model is 86.1% accurate, but somewhat lower in accuracy using a triangular pyramidal volume. The stress arch - volumetric expansion and KOMIR methods have the disadvantage of evaluating whether subsidence occurs or not. In the case of the numerical analysis, the accuracy is 72.3% when estimating the subsidence depth, but is slightly lower (55.8%) when estimating the subsidence width. The probabilistic and limit equilibrium methods have similar accuracies of 50.8~63.7%. Given it is possible to determine whether subsidence occurs, and the subsidence location, width, and depth with each method, it is recommended to apply various methods when evaluating sinkhole-type subsidence.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the systematic management of external landscaping spaces by analyzing the characteristics of changes in planting trees for about 50 years from 1976 to Ojukheon in Gangneung. Information on past planting species was confirmed based on the landscape plan of the Ojukheon Cleanup Site in 1976 and the current status plan of the Ojukheon Tree in 2000, and analyzed in overlap with the results of field surveys. From 1976 to 2023, a total of 18 additional species of trees such as Celtis sinensis, Toona sinensis and Lagerstroemia indica were planted or the tree species name was unified, and three species were not identified. It was confirmed that there was a change in the planting species by Aojegag, Main house, Ojukheon, and Munseongsa in terms of traditional landscape space. And the problems were derived regarding species name (correct name and synonym), lack of information on planting and removal, and foreign species planting by period. In the future, it is judged that systematic history management based on the tree management register, including basic planting information on external landscaping spaces in national cultural properties, is urgent.

  • The cultural salons in Beiping were very unique phenomenon in the 1930's Chines culturalhistory. These salons were created in the Beiping's urban environment with generosity toscholarship and art. The typical examples of these were the 'Lin Huiyin's salon' by Lin Huiyinand 'Poetry reading salon' by Zhu Gunagqian. 'Lin Huiyin's salon' became the representative salonin Beiping before the Sino-Japanese War broke out in 1937. In 'Lin Huiyin's salon' they heldmeeting in an impromptu, free and somewhat distracted atmosphere without any specific theme. Onthe other hand, Zhu Guangqian's 'Poetry reading salon', which included scholars, critics, poets andtheoreticians centered on Peking University and Tsinghua University, tendered to be academicbecause its main purpose was to test the "successful readability of new poetry". These two culturalsalons have received a positive evaluation in terms of promoting the 'Beiping school' andactivating the literary world, but the members who attended these salons were satirized as bluffersand hypocrites in the novels "The living room of our wife"(1933) and "The cat"(1946) which werewritten by Bingxin and Qian Zhougshu, respectively. In this article, I examined the positiveinfluences on cultural topography at the time and showed how they were reflected to the intelligentintellectuals who did not participate in the salons. Based on these contemplations, I also had achance to look at the 1930's salons correctly through ambivalent viewpoint.

  • In the 21st century, there was a boom of research in the field of Taiwanese historical narrative on Netherland's colonial rule of Taiwan in the 17th century. Such trend expanded to the literature field, and creations were made using the forgotten historical material. Representative works are 《婆 娑之島》 and 《福爾摩沙三族記》, written by Ping Lu and Chen Yao-chang. By analyzing these texts, this study studies what kind of a message the author presents through the literary form, and what his view is on the present and the future. In 《婆娑之島》, Ping Lu presents the fate of Taiwan being in the midst of imperialism for 400 years, and points out the betrayal of imperialism on Taiwan. Ping Lu argues that in order for Taiwan to evade from such situation, the future of Taiwan should be discussed in the global context, outside of the limited perspective of "China/Taiwan". Chen Yao-chang established the Tiwanese identity based on the multiple history narrative, by referencing to the spacial identity instead of the innate kinship. Such establishment of identity gave a breakthrough to the identity politics in Taiwan. Amidst the rapidly changing world politics and economy, it is essential for Taiwan to reestablish the cultural identity for itself for its development. What is more important is that the multiple history narrative maintains openness of history and communicates with the grand narrative to prevent history from being baised.

  • Due to rapid spread of fireblight, the Rural Development Administration is supplying bactericides to farmers. However, research on inhibitory effects of main active ingredients in these bactericides on fireblight is lacking. Chlorophyll fluorescence analysis is a non-destructive method for analyzing the photosynthetic efficiency of plants, enabling time-series data analysis of pathogen progression and allowing for large-scale studies. Therefore, this study analyzed inhibitory effects of main active ingredients in bactericides on fireblight using chlorophyll fluorescence response analysis. Flowering pear trees (three-year-old 'Shingo' variety) were sprayed with control agents and fire blight pathogens on flowers. Chlorophyll fluorescence responses were then measured at seven-day intervals. Twenty-eight days after bactericide treatment, the fluorescence of the O-J transition stage in the untreated group was twice as high as in the average bactericide-treated group presumably due to inhibition of electron transport in the PSII donor side caused by pathogen infection, leading to leaf necrosis. Additionally, the electron transport efficiency (ET2o, RE1o) decreased, reducing the driving force of photosynthesis (DF total ABS) to 20% of the average bactericide-treated group, indicating chlorophyll damage and reduced photosynthetic capacity. In conclusion, chlorophyll fluorescence technology can be used to quantitatively evaluate the efficacy of fire blight control agents during the flowering period of pear trees.

  • This text attempts two types of critical analysis. First is to explore Luxun's critical research attitude toward classical Chinese texts, studying how Luxun critically examines 'liyue (ceremony- music)'. With the way the 'madman' in 《A Madman's Diary》 handles China's old text as a hint, the attitude with which Luxun critically examines the editing and passing down of classical Chinese philology was studied. Luxun pays attention to the situation in which when classical literature is passed down and transmitted throughout history, the context of events are concealed and text is blockaded while text is edited and restructured. Also, Luxun critically examines how the ancient culture of 'liyue' operates on the constitution of Chinese culture, society, and politics, in addition to the process of passing down of texts, as well as how it has effect even in the present day. Classics are closely intertwined not only with issues of the past but with the conventions, moral emotions, and government of today. Second, based on Luxun's examination of 'liyue', the <sheng-wu-ai-le-lun> of the 《Jikangji》 which Luxun sympathized with all his life is criticized. This text, stating that 'There is no sadness or happiness in sound', deeply ponders upon the issue of 'liyue' essential to the logic of Chinese cultural composition, and deviates from the Confucian thoughts centered around social integrity and inspiration. Further, it stresses the autonomy of affective subject, and the process of deliberation by an entity toward harmony and commonness. By the work of examining Jikang through Luxun and Luxun through Jikang, the uncompleted work of classical criticism by Luxun is restructured, and the possibility of classical Chinese texts to relate to today's life is examined.

  • PM2.5, a type of fine particulate matter, poses serious health risks. Existing pollution management policies and research have generally focused on high-concentration areas. However, this approach has limitations as it does not adequately account for regional characteristics and varying levels of vulnerability, leading to an incomplete reflection of actual risks in specific areas. This study analyzed 229 administrative districts to develop a vulnerability index by comprehensively evaluating PM2.5 exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. Using data from 2019, the index was calculated through normalization and entropy weighting methods, and spatial patterns of PM2.5 vulnerability were examined through LISA and K-means clustering analysis. The findings reveal that the distribution of PM2.5-vulnerable areas shows distinct patterns within urban settings, which were classified into four distinct types, each characterized by different urban features. This suggests a need for region-specific dust reduction policies. This study contributes to a better understanding of the spatial patterns of PM2.5 vulnerability and aims to support the development of more effective policy approaches.
