This study is to find new methods in describing material type as content type and carrier type for the improvement of OPAC retrieval and the embodiment of work and expression of FRBR. It is hard to describe type vocabulary in cataloging because division of content and carrier taxonomy in KCR4 and KORMARC is not distinct. This study is to review the characteristics of material type list in RDA and ISBD(2010), and to examine the various type vocabulary and description methods of videorecording, soundrecording, and cartographic by retrieving KERIS DB. As a result, there is no consistency in applying type vocabulary between KCR4 and KORMARC. Also, libraries use the mix of content and carrier or detailed carrier vocabulary for local use. Therefore, it is need to define the function of GMD as content type, to expand and correct content and carrier vocabulary, and to express both content and carrier type in citation and detailed display. This study will contribute to embody the expression of FRBR.

Currently, most academic libraries provide OPAC 2.0 service which applies Web 2.0 based-internet search engine to OPAC. The new service is for the users' convenience and so the considerations for the users' opinions are of great importance for each of services. The objectives of the study were to investigate perceptions of the students as the main user for academic library on the importance for the main services of OPAC 2.0 and analyzed information sources and the reasons for book search by the virtue of this service. The study showed that there were the users' high expectations on accuracy and satisfaction for OPAC 2.0, and the main searching information source was the OPAC of the universities to which the users belong due to familiar screen as well as convenient reading and book loan through it. The OPAC 2.0 service needs to be improved with the consideration of the users' opinions.

BIBFRAME, which is attracting attention as an alternative to the machine-readable catalog format (MARC) in the library world, presents a new bibliographic data model in the open web environment while maintaining compatibility with existing data. To convert KORMARC(Korean data model of MARC) records into BIBFRAME, we extract 25 key fields by analyzing the latest 5,000 bibliographic data from Nowon-gu Library in Seoul. The extracted core fields are classified into three types according to the compatibility of MARC 21, and define conversion rules for each type. In addition, implement an open source-based converter to perform KORMARC to BIBFRAME conversion. As a basic study on KORMARC to BIBFRAME conversion, this study is meaningful in that it analyzes the latest KORMARC information actually used, defines conversion rules, and attempts BIBFRAME conversion.

In the case of Domeggook B2B online shopping malls, it has a market share of over 70% with more than 2 million members and 800,000 items are sold per one day. However, since the same or similar items are stored and registered in different catalog entries, it is difficult for the buyer to search for items, and problems are also encountered in managing B2B large shopping malls. Therefore, in this study, we developed a catalog entry auto classification and recommendation system for products by using semi-supervised machine learning method based on previous huge shopping mall purchase information. Specifically, when the seller enters the item registration information in the form of natural language, KoNLPy morphological analysis process is performed, and the Naïve Bayes classification method is applied to implement a system that automatically recommends the most suitable catalog information for the article. As a result, it was possible to improve both the search speed and total sales of shopping mall by building accuracy in catalog entry efficiently.

Based on the analysis of historical backgrounds and terms of Taekwondo, this study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of cataloging records related to Taekwondo in 53 national libraries of each country. The results are as follows. To begin with, while most of the Taekwondo-related records are concentrated in some specific national libraries such as the United States, Germany, Republic of China, United Kingdom, and Spain, there are four libraries that do not have one. Second, the title keyword of Taekwondo-related records was 93.5% for the term that directly meant Taekwondo and 6.5% for Korean martial art, Korean art of self-defense, and Korean karate etc. The frequency of materials by language is 38.7% for English and 8~9% for German, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean, respectively. The Roman translation for Taekwondo is 50.3% for 'Taekwondo', and 18.5% for 'Tae kwon do'. Third, the subject heading of Taekwondo-related records was 86.9% for 'Tae kwon do' or 'Taekwondo' etc. 7.6% for 'karate', 5.7% for general subject heading, and 12.0% for blank. This means that some national libraries misunderstand Taekwondo as karate.

The basis of library services is to support users' efficient access to materials, and to this end high-quality search services using bibliographic data (bibliographic MARC) must be premised. However, in Korea, discussions on search services based on library catalogs are still in the early 2010s, so it is necessary to understand the current status and examine user needs. In this context, this study aims to provide a solution for public library searching services to become an efficient search tool based on user needs. For this purpose, first, this study analyzed cataloging services of 49 public libraries in Busan by focusing on 'data search method' and 'method of providing information', second, identified user needs by conducting a survey of 322 users visiting public libraries, and finally, proposed improvement directions based on best practices.

The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' needs for access points when searching for picture books to be used as teaching media, and suggest ways to improve DLS(Digital Library System) in school libraries. To achieve this purpose, the study examined the access points provided by OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog) systems in seven domestic and foreign libraries. In addition, it conducted an online survey with elementary school teachers, and a total of 220 responses were finally analyzed. It was found that the most needed access points were topic, grade/age, content, subject/chapter, and cross-curricula learning topics, etc. Based on the results, this study suggests providing the most needed access points in DLS, developing controlled vocabulary tools, and improving system functions or the interface to enhance accessibility to picture books.

자연재해의 증가로 인한 사회적 비용이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 현재의 상황에서 해양기상정보에 대한 수요는 시간이 지날수록 보다 다양화 구체화되고 있다. 해외에서 제공되고 있는 해양기상정보 서비스에 대한 조사와 더불어 해양에 종사하는 사람들을 대상으로 진행한 해양기상정보 이용 실태와 신규 서비스 수요에 대한 설문 분석을 통해서 국내에서 시행이 시급한 신규 서비스 목록을 도출하였다.

단순한 데이터통신을 위한 넷(Net)이 정보 교환의 혁명을 일으켰던 웹(Web)으로 발전하였고, 현재 웹은 신경망 형태의 인터넷 구조를 갖는 그리드(grid)를 향해 발전하고 있다. 정보의 교환 및 분산된 자원을 공유하기 위한 그리드 컴퓨팅은 자원의 발견 뿐 만 아니라, 접근 속도와 제한된 자원의 공유를 비롯한 여러 문제점을 가지고 있다. 특히, 데이터에 대한 접근 속도와 제한적인 데이터 공유 문제를 해결하기 위해 Replica 서비스가 제안되었으나, 이러한 Replica 서비스를 원활하게 지원하기 위해서는 Replica 경로 및 정보들을 목록으로 구성해야만 한다. 현재 그리드 컴퓨팅 분야에서 이러한 목록을 구현하는 것과 동시에 최적의 조건을 찾아가는 기법에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 Replica 서비스를 최적화하기 위한 기존의 연구들을 분석하고 Data Location Service를 이용하여 Replica 서비스를 최적화하는 방법을 제안하였다.

본 논문은 중국 송대의 서산 진덕수가 선대 유가서에서 심학에 관계되는 여러 성현의 격언을 순차적으로 모아 찬한 성리서인 $\boxDr$심경$\boxUl$에 대한 서지적 연구이다. 16세기 이후 조선의 주요 성리서의 하나로 간행 보급되었던 $\boxDr$심경$\boxUl$에 대해, $\boxDr$심경$\boxUl$ 찬자와 간행 및 $\boxDr$심경부주$\boxUl$의 간행 경유와 $\boxDr$심경$\boxUl$의 국내유인 과정을 살펴보고, 책판목록 상의 판본과 현존 판본을 조사하여, 책판목록 상의 판본을 지역적으로 나누어 살펴보았으며, 현존 간본 현황을 분석하여 판본 종수를 기술하였다.
