Influencing Factors the Metacognition and Learning Motivation on Problem-Solving Ability in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 메타인지, 학습 동기가 문제해결력에 미치는 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this research is to identify how the metacognition and learning motivation of nursing students affect problem-solving ability. The subjects of this study were 160 students attending nursing universities, and the data were collected from 20 January to 10 March 2021. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0 program. As a result of this study, there was a significant positive correlation between problem-solving ability, metacognition (r=.44, p<.001), and learning motivation(r=.45, p<.001). factors affecting the problem-solving ability of nursing students were identified in order of learning motivation, metacognition. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that programs will be developed and applied to improve the problem-solving ability of nursing students.

  • 학습의 깊이의 단계를 Bloom은 지식, 이해, 적용, 분석, 종합, 평가라는 6가지의 단계로 나누면서 피상적인 학습과 감이 있는 학습으로 구분하였다. 최근 학습은 면대면 학습에서 뿐 아니라, 웹기반의 학습에서도 피상적인 학습 위주로 이루어진다는 비판을 받고 있고, 웹기반 학습에서는 자기조절 흑은 자기규제의 문제가 가장 큰 문제로 지적 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로서 감이 있는 학습을 촉진하고, 자기 조절을 촉진하는 메타인지를 웹기반학습에의 인터페이스 디자인에 적용하는 문제를 살펴보았다. 이를 알아보기 위해 메타인지 전략의 가장 핵심 요소인 '자기 점검'의 요소 중 학습 내용들 간의 위계 관계를 보여주는 지도 (MAP) 와 계획세우기를 도와주는 요소 (PLAN)를 기존 연구를 토대로 웹기반의 학습의 인터페이스로 구현하고, 이러한 요소들이 학습, 특히 Bloom이 말한 김이 있는 학습을 촉진하는지를 실험을 통해 살펴보았다. 메타인지를 활용한 웹기반 학습의 효과는 배운 내용의 사후 테스트 점수로 측정되었다. 일반적으로 웹상에서 이루어지는 학습의 일반적인 형태인 학습 중에 확인문제를 푸는 조건 (OX조건)과 확인문제와 학습 내용들 간의 위계 관계를 보여주는 지도를 제시하는 조건 (MAP조건), 이에 덧붙여 사전 계획세우기까지 모두 하는 조건 (PLAN조건)으로 나누어 실험이 진행되었다. 그 결과 첫째, 집단 간 참가자들의 전체적인 학습 점수는 MAP조건이 가장 낮고, OX조건이 중간, PLAN조건이 가장 높은 모습을 보였다. 그러나 이 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았다. 또한 모든 조건의 집단에서 행해졌던 학습 중간의 OX점수는 집단별 점수의 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았으나, 평균의 차이를 보여주었다. 둘째, 조건별 참가자의 학습 효과는 피상적인 학습수준(암기)에서는 통계적으로 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 그러나 감이 있는 수준의 학습(문제해결)에서는 집단 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 학습의 차이를 보이지 않았다. 따라서 깊이있는 학습을 촉진하는 웹기반 학습의 인터페이스 디자인에 대해서는 추후 연구가 필요하다.

  • In the area of e-learning education, SCORM2004 that is suggested by ADL and is a defacto standard allows to design and apply various interrelations among learning objects which organize learning process through consolidating IMS Simple Sequencing into S&N. In this paper, we intend to realize a web_based adaptive learning management that enable to guide experientially the learning activity through the SCORM 2004 S&N and the Traffic-Signal-Lamp Metaphor. This adaptive system allows professor to design the learning courseware realizing various learning strategies to be able to reuse same learning contents and student to be leaded a adaptive learning through being supplied immediately the state and evaluation of learning.

  • One of the key success factors for Computer Supported Collaborative Learning(CSCL) environments relies on collaborative reflection. Reflection refers to the active, intellectual thinking for monitoring one's own learning process and continuous internal activities of exploring oneself for new learning experiences. Also, reflective activities are closely related not only with the individual aspect of internal exploration but also with the social aspect of learner-learner interaction. This paper suggests four essential macro-level design strategies such as (1)facilitating collaborative awareness, (2)making thinking visualization, (3)negotiation-mediated knowledge construction, (4)providing metacognitive awareness cues or Questions for scaffolding collaborative reflection in the CSCL environments and made some implications for key functional features for the design and development of system components for CSCL.

The Effects of Group Coaching Program on Improving Metacognition Learning Ability for Adult Learners (성인학습자 대상 메타인지 학습능력 증진 그룹코칭 프로그램의 효과성 검증)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of a group coaching program to promote metacognitive learning ability in an academic context for adult learners enrolled at a distance university. The topics and objectives of the group coaching program focused on understanding and applying the elements of 'metacognitive knowledge', and each session was conducted online by integrating 'planing-monitoring-regulating', an element of 'metacognitive regulation', into the REGROW model of coaching. To verify the effectiveness of the program, research participants were recruited from adult university students enrolled in A Cyber University and assigned to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group was given the program, while the control group was given the program after the completion of the study. Metacognitive learning ability level and academic self-efficacy were tested before and after the program for both groups, and a satisfaction survey was conducted for the experimental group. Analyses of the data revealed that the experimental group showed higher scores on both the overall and sub-scales of perceived metacognitive learning ability and academic self-efficacy compared to the control group. Participants in the experimental group also reported high satisfaction with the program, increased knowledge of metacognition, awareness and application of metacognitive strategies, and found the group coaching approach beneficial. Based on these findings, implications, and suggestions for future research are presented.

  • It is important that students have the ability to prepare, practice, and reflect their mathematics learning. This study defines the self-directed learning ability based on Vygotsky. We consider the components of self-directed learning in aspects of motivation, learning strategy, and metacognition, and analyse 10 factors of self-directed learning ability Thus we develop the self-directed mathematics learning test, which is tested by factor analysis.

A Meta-Analysis of Research Trends in Mathematics Learning Disabilities (수학학습장애 연구 동향 메타분석)

  • This study was designed as a meta-analysis to investigate the research trends in mathematics learning disabilities(MLD) area. The results of this study were as follows: The 201 researches targeted for the analysis can be categorized 4: characteristic of students with MLD, screening students with MLD, interventional teaching for students with MLD, and et cetera. Also, the outcomes of researches regarding intervention in MLD determined to have a large effect resulted in a total average of 0.958. Especially, as a result of analysing the effect size in accordance with teaching method variables in group-case designed researches, the effect was largest when direct instruction and strategy instruction was given. The effect was largest when the frequency of intervention was over 16 and under 20. The results in this study be summed up as follows. MLD can be served as a foundation in setting a direction for further research to improve in Korea.

A Case Study on Applying Reflective Journal to The Engineering Classes in College (전문대학 공학계열 수업에서의 성찰저널 적용 사례연구)

  • The main purpose of this study was to develope a reflective journal and examine its effects on student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For this study, 'a structured reflective journal' was designed through the steps of systems approach with the purpose of enhancing student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies, especially meta-cognition and critical thinking. The reflective journal used in this study contained the constructive elements of (1) self-evaluation with 5 likert scale, (2) learning essay, (3) dialogue with peers, and (4) dialogue with professor. A total of 94 freshmen enrolled in one of two sections of the engineering courses(theory-based class and experiment and practice-based class) participated in the study for 8 weeks. A pre-test-post-test design was used to examine the effects of the application of reflective journal on student's achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For the result, analysis of covariance was conducted to determine whether there were any academic achievement differences and self-regulated learning strategy differences. The results suggested that students were taking advantages of the reflective journal, and there were statistically significant differences in academic achievement in the experiment and practice-based class and self-regulated learning strategies in both classes.

Effect of self-leadership and self-control learning ability of adult college students on satisfaction of school life (성인대학생의 셀프리더십과 자기조절학습능력이 학교생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of undergraduates' self-directed learning on the school life satisfaction and interpersonal relation ability. For this purpose, 341 undergraduates were targeted and analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing school life satisfaction, a sub-factor of self-directed learning, all of gender, grade, and age affected. In addition, sub-factors such as study confidence, study passion, study responsibility seemed to affect positively significantly in order. Second, as a result of analyzing the effect on interpersonal relation skills of self-directed study, there was no significant relation in gender, grade, and age. Based on the results of this study, it was confirmed that school life satisfaction and interpersonal relation abilities are closely related to self-directed learning. This is significant in that to revitalize institutions such as educational service, study support for students, self-directed learning programs development in education field at the university, etc. are required.
