As the use of public transportation is increasing, a service considering the convenience of passengers is being launched utilizing the Internet (IoT) data collected through the bus information system. However, the bus information system only provides limited information such as the current location of the bus (GPS) and the expected arrival time at the stop. Additional IoT sensor information is needed to provide various services for the safety and convenience of passengers. In this paper, to improve the safety and convenience of passengers, we have added the boarding doors imaging sensor, temperature and humidity sensors, and sensor for measuring the number of passengers. The proposed IoT bus system can attach various sensors to buses to provide high-quality safety services to passengers.
This study covers exploration of seabed around Heuksando Island using hover drones. To do so, we inspected the terrain of the island and set autonomous flight waypoints on each area of the island's shores. Next, we designated seabed scan radius for drones. Then the drones fitted with laser sensor hover autonomously on their assigned area and acquire seabed data. Finally, we match the seabed data on all areas according to GPS. Our final goal is to make immersive VR maritime cultural map based on 『Jasan Urbo』.
A hotspot is a spatial pattern that properties or events of spaces are densely revealed in a particular area. Whereas location information is easily captured with increasing use of mobile devices, so is not our emotion unless asking directly through a survey. Tweet provides a good way of analyzing such spatial sentiment, but relevant research is hard to find. Therefore, we analyzed hotspots of emotion in the twitter using spatial autocorrelation. 10,142 tweets and related GPS data were extracted. Sentiment of tweets was classified into good or bad with a support vector machine algorithm. We used Moran's I and Getis-Ord $G_i^*$ for global and local spatial autocorrelation. Some hotspots were found significant and drawn on Seoul metropolitan area map. These results were found very similar to an earlier conducted official survey of happiness index.
The age of autonomous vehicles has come according to development of high performance sensing and artificial intelligence technologies. And importance of the vehicle's surrounding environment sensing and observation is increasing accordingly because of its stability and control efficiency. In this paper we propose an integrated platform for efficient networking, analysis and monitoring of multiple sensing data on the vehicle that are equiped with various automotive sensors such as GPS, weather radar, automotive radar, temperature and humidity sensors. From simulation results, we could see that the proposed platform could perform realtime analysis and monitoring of various sensing data that were observed from the vehicle sensors. And we expect that our system can support drivers or autonomous vehicles to recognize optimally various sudden or danger driving environments on the road.

Overlay network eliminates the need to change the application-layer tree when the underlying network changes and enables the overlay network to survive in environments where nonmember nodes do not support multicast functionality. An overlay protocol monitors group dynamics, while underlying unicast protocols track network dynamics, resulting in more stable protocol operation and low control overhead even in a highly dynamic environment. But, if overlay multicast protocols does not know the location information of node, this makes it very difficult to build an efficient multicasting tree. So, we propose a Hierarchical Overlay Multicast Architecture (HOMA) with the location information. Because proposed architecture makes static region-based dynamic group by multicast members, it is 2-tired overlay multicasts of application layer that higher layer forms overlay multicast network between members that represent group, and support multicast between multicast members belonging to region at lower layer. This use GPS, take advantage of geographical region, and realizes a region-sensitive higher layer overlay multicast tree which is impervious to the movements of nodes. The simulation results show that our approach solves the efficiency problem effectively.

This paper presents an architecture and its instruction set for a graphic coprocessor(GCP) which can be used for a multimedia server. The proposed instruction set employs parallel architecture concepts, such as SIMD and Superscalar. GCP consists of a scheduler and four functional units. The scheduler solves an instruction bottleneck problem causing by sharing with four general processors(GPs). GCP can execute up to 4 instructions in parallel. It consists of about 56,000 gates and operates at 30 MHz clock frequency due to speed limitation of SOG technology. GCP meets the real-time DCT algorithm requirement of the CIF image format and can process up to 63 frames/sec for the DCT Algorithm and 21 frames/sec for the Full Block matching Algorithm of the CIF image format.
Road sign is an important street furniture that gives some information such as road conditions, driving direction and condition for a driver. Thus, road sign is a major target of image recognition for self-driving car, ADAS(autonomous vehicle and intelligent driver assistance systems), and ITS(intelligent transport systems). In this paper, an enhanced road sign recognition system is proposed for MMS(Mobile Mapping System) using the single camera and GPS. For the proposed system, first, a road sign recognition scheme is proposed. this scheme is composed of detection and classification step. In the detection step, object candidate regions are extracted in image frames using hybrid road sign detection scheme that is based on color and shape features of road signs. And, in the classification step, the area of candidate regions and road sign template are compared. Second, a Geo-marking scheme for geo-content that is consist of road sign image and coordinate value is proposed. If the serious situation such as car accident is happened, this scheme can protect geographical information of road sign against illegal users. By experiments with test video set, in the three parts that are road sign recognition, coordinate value estimation and geo-marking, it is confirmed that proposed schemes can be used for MMS in commercial area.
LBS (Location Based Service) services are very useful to our daily life and it should be available inside a building: a huge building, a shopping mall, a large scale underground shopping center, and so on where GPS (Global Positioning System) signal is not available. An LBS which is provided inside a building is called an ILBS (Indoor Location Based Service). One of the most important techniques for ILBS development is indoor positioning. Among the indoor positioning techniques, APs (access points) of WLAN based ones are most economical because WLAN is available almost everywhere. Meanwhile, the web service has been proved to be an excellent practice of software reuse. Therefore, if indoor positioning is provided in the form of web service to programmers then development of ILBS would be greatly accelerated. This paper introduces the AP based trilateration and K-NN indoor positioning and RFID based indoor positioning web services we have developed.

Cellular network evolution and development of multi-function cellular phones introduce new mobile business mode. Cellular operators provide mobile internet services using the mobile browser such as ME and WAP and the mobile multimedia platform such as WIPI, J2ME, and BREW. New mobile applications are developed using mobile platforms provided by cellular operators as cellular phones having multimedia solutions such as camera, MP3, MPEG, 3D game engine, DMB, PAN such as bluetooth, IrDA, W-LAN, and location information using GPS are developed. Content providers have problems of redevelopment of a mobile application for different mobile platforms. In this paper, we propose a conversion solution for interoperability of applications developed on different mobile platforms of WIPI and BREW. We analyze APIs of WIPI and BREW and develop conversion solutions.
To realize LBS (Location Based Service), typically GPS is mostly used. However, this system can be only used in out-sides. Furthermore, the use of the GPS in sensor networks is not efficient due to the low power consumption. Hence, we propose methods for the location positioning which is runnable at indoor in this paper. The proposed methods elaborate the location positioning system via applying K-NN(K-Nearest Neighbour) Algorithm with its intermediate values based on IEEE 802.15.4 technology; which is mostly used for the sensor networks. Logically the accuracy of the location positioning is proportional to the number of sampling sensor nodes' RSS according to the K-NN. By the way, numerous sampling uses a lot of sensor networks' resources. In order to reduce the number of samplings, we, instead, attempt to use the intermediate values of K-NN's signal boundaries, so that our proposed methods are able to positioning almost two times as accurate as the general ways of K-NN's result.
