A Study on User Needs Cognition on Functions of Mobile Phone - Focused on Use Frequency and Necessity on Functions of Age Group (휴대폰의 기능에 대한 사용자 요구 인식에 관한 연구 - 20대, 30대, 50대 사용자의 휴대폰 기능별 사용 빈도와 필요성 인식을 중심으로)

  • Mobile phone becomes composite product which the high technological multimedia functions of a Digital camera, MP3, MP4, Blue-tooth, DMB over basic functions of a calling and 3M3. By the view of user, many functions give a heavy burden rather than supporting convenient function itself because it is complex for user to use it. We want to evaluate how users feel using mobile phone according to age, comparing use frequency and necessity. So survey is tried to figure out the difference between use frequency and necessity by dividing three groups into 20s and 30s and 50s. As a result, difference of use frequency and necessity for functions of mobile phone between 20s and 30s and 50s. And the other users have the difference. Consequently, mobile phone development according to age is necessary to satisfy user's desire, evaluating elements research of user preference. We hope this paper can contribute to mobile phone development as a basic guidance.

Design of an Efficient Coarse Frequency Estimator Using a Serial Correlator for DVB-S2 (직렬 상관기를 이용한 디지털 위성방송 주파수 추정회로 설계)

  • This paper proposes an efficient coarse frequency synchronizer for digital video broadcasting - second generation (DVB-S2). The input signal requirement of acquisition range for coarse frequency estimator in the DVB-S2 is around ${\pm}1.5625Mhz$, which corresponds to 6.25% of the symbol rate at 25Mbaud. At the process of analyzing the robust algorithm among data-aided approaches, we find that the Luise & Reggiannini (L&R) algorithm is the most promising one for coarse frequency estimation with respect to estimation performance and complexity. However, it requires many multipliers and adders to compute output values of correlators. We propose an efficient architecture identifying the serial correlator with the buffer and multiplexers. The proposed coarse frequency synchronizer can reduce the hardware complexity about 92% of the direct implementation. The proposed architecture has been implemented and verified on the Xilinx Virtex II FPGA.

DNA Information Hiding Method for DNA Data Storage (DNA 데이터 저장을 위한 DNA 정보 은닉 기법)

  • DNA data storage refers to any technique for storing massive digital data in base sequence of DNA and has been recognized as the future storage medium recently. This paper presents an information hiding method for DNA data storage that the massive data is hidden in non-coding strand based on DNA steganography. Our method maps the encrypted data to the data base sequence using the numerical mapping table and then hides it in the non-coding strand using the key that consists of the seed and sector length. Therefore, our method can preserve the protein, extract the hidden data without the knowledge of host DNA sequence, and detect the position of mutation error. Experimental results verify that our method has more high data capacity than conventional methods and also detects the positions of mutation errors by the parity bases.

A Study on Fashion Behavior and Make-up Behavior in terms of the Lifestyle of Post Digital Generation (포스트 디지털 세대의 라이프스타일에 따른 패션행동 및 화장행동과의 관계)

  • This study is to analyze and examine the relations of lifestyle, fashion behavior, and make-up behavior of post digital generation and to provide the basic data which help to establish and perform the distinctive marketing strategies targeting the post digital generation. Subjects were 1,460 male and female undergraduates who attend colleges or universities in Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. Average, standard deviation, MANOVA, and ANOVA were conducted using SPSS 12.0 statistic program. The results were as follows: The higher points the group got in all the subfactors regarding information seeking pursuit and sensation intention fascination pursuit, the higher points the group had in the subfactors of fashion behavior and make-up behavior. The group with higher fashionenjoyment pursuit appeared to seek after more brand price choice behavior, internet shopping purchasing behavior, fashion information source seeking behavior, and impulse buying behavior in the subfactors of fashion behavior as well as more self-satisfaction appearance orientation and fashion information buying orientation in the subfactors of make-up behavior. With the group in pursuit of more multi activities, not only were brand price choice behavior and fashion information source seeking behavior in the subfactors of fashion behavior sought after more, but self-satisfaction appearance orientation and fashion information buying orientation in the subfactors of make-up behavior were pursued more as well. The more interpersonal relations the group had, the more self-satisfaction appearance orientation and fashion information buying orientation in the subfactors of make-up behavior as well as the more brand price choice behavior, fashion information source seeking behavior, impulse buying behavior, other-regarding behavior and independent buying behavior in the subfactors of fashion behavior the group had.

Design of a Fast Adder Using Robust QCA Design Guide (강건 QCA 설계 지침을 이용한 고속 가산기 설계)

  • The Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) can be considered as a candidate for the next generation digital logic implementation technology due to their small feature sizes and ultra low power consumption. Up to now, several designs using Uh technology have been proposed. However, we found not all of the designs function properly. Furthermore, no general design guidelines have been proposed so far. A straightforward extension of a simple functional design pattern may fail. This makes designing a large scale circuits using QCA technology an extremely time-consuming process. In this paper, we show several critical vulnerabilities related to unbalanced input paths to QCA gates and sneak noise paths in QCA interconnect structures. In order to make up the vulnerabilities, a disciplinary guideline will be proposed. Also, we present a fast adder which has been designed by the discipline, and verified to be functional by the simulation.

  • In this paper, the subthreshold swings for doping distribution in the channel have been analyzed in double gate MOSFET(DGMOSFET). The DGMOSFET is extensively been studying since it can lessen the short channel effects(SCEs) as next -generation nano device. The degradation of subthreshold swing(SS) known as SCEs has greatly influenced on application of digital devices, and has been analyzed for structural parameter and variation of channel doping profile in DGMOSFET. The analytical model of Poisson equation has been derived from nonuniform doping distribution for DGMOSFET. To verify potential and subthreshold swing model based on this analytical Poisson's equation, the results have been compared with those of the numerical Poisson's equation, and subthreshold swing for DGMOSFET has been analyzed using these models.

Review on the Educational Possibilities of The Virtual Museum as Online Learning Environments (온라인 학습환경으로서 가상박물관(Virtual Museum)의 가능성에 대한 탐구)

  • As digital technologies have strongly impacted the whole social aspects, so museum recently emerging as an alternative or supplementary learning environment to school, after active adoption to the technologies, gave birth to museum websites called 'Virtual Museums' which, then, result in enhancing the educational roles and functions of physical museum. In this context, this study aimed to review the process of how virtual museum has been developed in terms of its educational roles and characteristics in accordance with the evolutionary development of web. Especially, the analysis of the status quo of the current virtual museums in both Korea and overseas presented specific aspects of the educational elements and roles embedded in virtual museum which have been emphasized in many related research and studies. The categories of the roles of the virtual museum, as a result, were classified into 'digital archive,' 'learning resources,' and 'communigy,' each of which were, then, further elaborated for its individual educational uses. Eventually this study purposed to expand the public awareness and knowledge of virtual museum as the alternative online learning environments needed in the 21st century.

A Study on the Vernacular Trends of Typography (타이포그래피의 풍토적 경향에 관한 연구)

  • Technically, the connotation of Typography is more than embodiments which are associated with records, keeping and expressions in languages. Therefore, it reflects a variety of social aspects based on cultures. The tendencies of modem Typography that have been confusing originate from the reaction caused by, what's called, cynical Rationalism - as a kind of characteristic. Nowadays, modem Typographic is required that it experience a new turning point with challenge and innovation. In association with the fact, it tends to be more local, compromised, dialectal, multi-cultural and anti-aesthetic. Moreover, there are multilateral tendencies concerned with generations and wealth & poverty. Consequently, the situation of modem Typographic which was regarded as an immovable role is now needed to change. The vernacular trends of Typographic changing with newer aspects is not always optimistic - it may be failure. However, at least, the experiments of it have expanded the range of modem Typographic. Therefore, the ultimate goal will be to obtain, what's called, potential data some of which are unknown to us.

  • 한국방송(KBS)은 전자통신연구원(ETRI)과 공동으로 송수신 안테나의 낮은 분리도(isolation)하에서도 운용이 용이하며 중계기 내부의 왜곡을 보상할 수 있는 DOCR(Digital On-Channel Repeater)을 개발하였다. 개발된 DOCR의 성능과 서비스 커버리지를 측정하기 위하여 수원 지역에서 2004년과 2005년 두 차례의 필드테스트를 공동으로 실시하였다. 본 논문에서는 개발된 DOCR시스템에 대하여 그 특징을 설명하고 수원 지역에서 실시된 필드테스트 결과를 분석한다. 또한, 다양한 세대의 ATSC 수신기를 측정에 사용함으로써 수신기 성능에 따른 DOCR 서비스 커버리지의 변화를 측정하였다. 측정결과에는 DOCR의 사용에 따른 수신성공률, 수신마진, 수신용이성(수신가능각도)등이 포함되며 측정 지역의 수 년간의 테스트 결과를 종합하여 서비스 범위내의 수신성능을 분석한다.

Studies on the acquisition of CONV and IOD according to the distance for long-distance 3D stereoscopic video shooting (원거리 3D 입체영상촬영을 위한 거리에 따른 IOD와 CONV의 획득에 관한 연구)

  • 영상시장의 개척과 디지털 기술의 발전과 더불어 차세대 3D 입체영상기술에 대한 관심과 수요가 증가하고 있다. 입체 정보는 크게 '단안 입체 정보(monoscopic depth cue)'와 '양안 입체 정보(stereoscopic depth cue)'로 분류 할 수 있다. 단안 입체 정보는 은폐, 상대적 크기, 상대적 밀도, 시야 안의 높이, 공기투시, 운동투시, 초점조절인 7가지로 경험에 의한 입체감을 지각하는 것을 말하며 양안 입체 정보는 두 눈으로 볼 때 처음으로 깊이를 지각 할 수 있는 것으로 크게 '동시시(simultaneous perception)', '융합(sensory fusion)', '입체시(stereoscopic vision)'의 세종류의 기능으로 분류한다. 3D 촬영은 이 양안시의 원리를 이용하여 두 대의 카메라의 좌우 영상을 합성하여 깊이감 있는 영상을 만들어 내게 된다. 본 논문에서는 3D 촬영방법은 촬영방식에 따라 크게 평행방식, 직교방식, 교차방식이 있는데 이중 중 원거리 촬영에 유리한 교차방식을 활용하여 사이드 바이 사이드 리그(Rig; 카메라를 수평으로 설치할 수 있도록 만들어진 장치)를 원거리 촬영에 맞게 축간거리를 기존의 리그 사이즈보다 2배 이상 긴 리그를 제작하여 보다 먼 거리에서의 상이한 좌우 영상획득이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 또한, 일정한 간격에 따라 피사체를 촬영하면서 거리에 따른 양 카메라의 가장 이상적인 IOD(Interocular Distance)와 CONV(Convergence)를 찾고, 교차방식촬영에 따른 특징적인 아티팩트인 키스톤 왜곡(Keystone distance)의 보정을 통한 원거리 입체영상을 효과적으로 획득하는데 본 연구방법을 제안하고자 한다.
