  • This research aimed to determine what male nursing students experienced in the course of serving in a medical care unit in the military and how this experience affected the nursing curriculum after they returned to school. This study was intended to provide basic information on nursing education for male nursing students. This qualitative research conducted a focus group interview to gather comprehensive data that are common among the subjects, in which 15 male nursing college students who experienced serving in a medical unit were divided into three focus groups. The results of this study identified five themes: 'recognition of the various role of a medic', 'caring ability and management of rare diseases', 'adaptation to different works in each military ranks', 'recognition of health care networks', and 'prerequisite learning of school subjects'. It was concluded that experience as a medic during military service helped to develop various capabilities, and these competencies were shown to guide students to demonstrate their abilities in a school environment or help accomplish their given tasks with confidence and establish interpersonal relationships as nurses in the future. The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for demonstrating that male nursing student's experience as a medic during military service aids to reinforce not only personal and academic capabilities but also the skills needed as a nurse.

  • This study aimed to find ways to reduce self-censorship by identifying the conflict and attribution to the motivation for self-censorship during the curriculum of the College of Arts. The analysis confirmed the significance of each relationship by conducting a correlation and regression analysis between the variables, and the analysis of the effects was based on the significant factors among them. The analysis showed the external locus of control toward self-censorship and interpersonal conflict had a partial mediation effect. In other words, as the degree of conflict in the educational environment increases, art college students are aware of the cause of the problem due to external characteristics such as others, task difficulty, etc., and thus confirmed the conclusion that frustration and shame caused by it become the motive for self-censorship.

  • Since 2015, the government has been striving to strengthen the software capabilities required for future talent through software-oriented university in Korea. In the university selected as a software-oriented university, basic software education is given to all departments such as humanities, social science, engineering, natural science, arts and the sports within the university in order to foster convergent human resources with different knowledge and software literacy. In this paper, we analyze the contents of basic software education for twenty universities selected as software-oriented universities. As a result of analysis, most of the basic software education which is carried out to the students of the non-majors students was aimed at improvement of problem solving ability centered on computational thinking for future society and improvement of convergence ability based on computer science. It uses block-based educational programming language and text-based advanced programming language to adjust the difficulty of programming contents and contents reflecting characteristics of each major. Problem-based learning, project-based learning, and discussion method were used as the teaching and learning methods for problem solving. • The technology transfers from public institutions have positioned themselves as knowledge conduits for stimulating firms' capabilities under 'catching-up' economy paradigm. While this view is still relevant, the policy for public technology needs to be extended to a more marketoriented way. This study explores how public technology affects the financial performance of demanding companies by comparing the revenues and profits of 'technology commercialised group (TC)' and 'in-house research group (InR)'. The estimation results by hierarchy regression suggest that the size and the patents of TC firms have a more influential impact than InR group, although the ratio of maintaining research staff was reported an inverse relation. The contribution to the operating profit seems to be indifferent between the groups. The positive impact of public technology over the firm's performance is highly related to the technology commercialisation capability, signalling that the aim of technology transfer needs to gear toward the enhancement of commercialising capabilities rather than the promotion of technology transactions.

  • This study aims to present basic data for enhancing the capability of the work by clarifying the duties of the national and public university record management personnel and using IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) techniques to identify differences and characteristics of the work by job and experience. To this end, the records management personnel of national and public universities were analyzed and surveyed, and the statistical analysis and IPA Matrix were conducted. As measures to solve problems derived from the results of the analysis, mandatory placement of national and public university record researchers, securing budget for performing their work, collection of university history records through various channels, supplementation and revision of records management institutions, and adjustment of job competency based on experience were proposed.
