This study was prepared for the purpose of suggesting the reasonable method of library management by reflecting it to the library acquisition and collection development through the user survey and analysis of an academic library. The 97,164 circulation records of C-academic library which were occurred between March 2006 and February 2007 were used, and sixteen subjects by five user groups ((1)undergraduate, (2)graduate students, (3)faculties(professors), (4)staffs, and (5)the other users) were surveyed for the study. The subject and the number of publication lapse year were categorized in this study. The non-parametric method and correlation coefficient were used for the analysis of subject part after the use factor and the number of publication lapse year were crossed by their status. Also, the same methods by use factor were used for the analysis of the number of year part.

Second, the necessity of adopting subject divisional plan is to secure enough subject librarians and large space These necessities must be fulfilled prior to adopting the subject divisional plan. Third subject divisional plan model for efficient reference service of university library is 'wide-area subject divisional plan model'. 1) In the case of central library, the space model of wide-area subject divisional plan is programmed as undergraduate library for the undergraduate students. And each subject libraries is operated as research library for the professors and graduate students. 2) In central library, the collection model of wide-area subject divisional plan is practiced as offering reference and general education centered data for undergraduate students 'study. And each subject libraries is furnished with research papers, recent journals, and various major-related data. 3) The human resource model of wide-area subject divisional plan is applicated by arranging appropriate librarians at the right place. In the case of central library, the reference librarians and librarians who educate the users and take charge of function are set in to help undergraduate students with their study. Subject library needs to secure subject librarians, librarians who take charge of function, and graduate students who are related to the subject as student assistant. Then it is possible to discriminate reference service by subjects and users.

University libraries need the development of a common Internet-based reference request system in order to prevent duplicated investment and provide interoperability among them. This paper proposes a standard of Internet-based reference recluest system that serves reference request-responses and that provides reference source sites on the world wide web. Using this system, university libraries can cooperate other libraries with reference databases and may perform tasks of reference service efficiently.

The user satisfaction of environmental facilities, collection, library services including webpage, etc. by using KSDC program provided by Korea Social Science Data Center has been analysed in this study. Also, the undergraduate students using P-academic library on December 2017 were sampled and analysed in this study. ANOVA etc. were used for testing wether gender, academic level and major of students affect the satisfaction, and Pearson correlation coefficient was used for testing the relation among the variables in the attached questionnaire. The major conclusions of this study are: (1) The policy development for the library use of male undergraduate students is needed. (2) The special counterplan to improve the user accessibility is needed. (3) Also, environmental facilities is absolutely needed when planning to improve user satisfaction. Besides, the development plan prepared after analysing the user opinions in essay form was suggested in this paper, too.

This study aims to explore the status of next generation OPAC functionalities adopted by Korean academic libraries, and factors affecting their functionalities adoption. So 181 OPACs among 191 Korean academic libraries' OPACs are surveyed using a checklist consisting of 27 next generation OPAC functionalities. The relationships between the next generation OPAC functionalities adopted by academic libraries' OPAC and 6 factors of library, i.e., establishment, region of universities, volumes in library collection, total library expenditures, total target users, and automation solutions are analyzed by using SPSS Statistics 21. It is found that all factors except establishment of universities significantly affected the adoption of the next generation OPAC functionalities, and further detailed analysis for each factors is provided.

This study aims to suggest the sustainable services for academic library in the New Normal Age, analyzing the online services during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this purpose, this study examined the operation condition of academic libraries' services during the COVID-19, analyzing the untact and online services of 63 libraries of universities which have more than 10,000 students. And this research classified the online services into three types, which are 'collection', 'facilities', 'programs' and examined the library homepage and development plans of academic libraries. This study also looked into the services of Korean public libraries and foreign libraries to suggest the sustainable services for academic library. As a result, this study suggests 'providing online materials for course reserves', 'expansion of research and study curation services to invigorate the use of library materials', 'introducing the smart library system and renovation of library facility and space services', 'planning of online programs through expansion of interaction with users'.

Evaluation of an academic library is a key to its success. Library and Information Policy Bureau of the President of the Republic of Korea conducted a trial evaluation on academic libraries with a university evaluation index developed by KERIS in 2005. The committee decided to review its feasibility based on the feedbacks from the academic libraries after the trial. This study aims to address the indexing issues appeared during the trial and suggest a new evaluation index tailored to academic libraries. First, the evaluation field is condensed from 7 to 6 as "financing" and "infrastructure" are integrated into "budget and infrastructure." Secondly, both "user charter" and "planning" are removed from the "library management" field category. and "library self-assessment" is added instead. In "information resource" field, "non-books and etc." is added. Third, evaluation categories for "budget and infrastructure" field are altered to budget-related items and library equipment. Forth, "collection turnover rate" category is incorporated into "collection usage" in "information usage" field, and "library use rate" in "information service" field is moved to "information resource" field and renamed as "use rate."

The aim of this study is supporting efficient development of library collection and improvement of library service for users by analyzing utilization patterns of library collection using circulation statistics of medical library users. With this purpose, circulation statistics were extracted from 90,420 cases of circulation records in A library for recent 3 years (from 2012 to 2014). Specifically, circulation data categorized according to status and subject, loan data of most popular books and use data of inter-library loan service were collected and analyzed. Subject groups of this study are undergraduate students, graduate students and incumbent hospital employees including faculty members, training members and nondoctor members. For the result, medical library users intensively lent materials of Technology (Applied Sciences), Literature and Social science areas. Especially, the demand of the materials of literature was higher than the demand of the other subject areas compared in the base of collection development.

In this paper, typical types of digital format were defined and digital format selection guidelines of US's NISO(National Information Standards Organization) and LC(Library of Congress) and Denmark's The State and University Library and the Royal Library were introduced. Five sustainability factors and quality and functionality factors were raised through analysing the three sample guidelines. The sustainability factors include descriptive, independency, consistency, widely adopted, and quality. Thus, digital format selection strategies for a library were developed.
