Determination of Deceleration Lane Length in Interchange with Shock-Wave Theory (충격파를 고려한 입체교차로의 감속차로 길이 산정방안)

  • Current highway design standards is based on the safety under the free flow condition. The length of deceleration lane is also determined in terms of the deceleration distance which is necessary for the driers to adjust the vehicle speed from the speed limit on the main road to that on the exit ramp of the interchange. However, the queues are frequently developed on the deceleration, and the following vehicles to exit must decelerate on the main road. It may cause delay on the main road and traffic accidents. This study is to suggest a methodology to minimize such problems with the shock-wave theory. The queue length of exiting vehicles can be estimated by the design speeds, traffic volumes of main road and the exiting ramp, and the countermeasures to the operational problems. According to the results, the queue length can be shortened to 80% by upgrading the design speed of exit ramp as the amount of 10km/h. Fifty percent of queue length can be shortened by adding an additional lane on the ramp to two lanes.

  • The paper presents an application of the Theory of Queue to a typical eath-haul operations. Field measurements of arrival and serve times were used to analyze the mathematical model for determination of optimal equipment requirements. Despite the model produces somewhat uder estimates of production, the use of the model in solving operation design problems was. found satisfactory on the practical basis.

  • 본 논문에서는 물리적 기반의 지역 대기 모형(Regional Climate Model)을 이용하여 최대강수량(Maximum Precipitation, MP)을 산정하는 방안에 대한 국내 적용가능성을 알아보고자 한다. 물리적 기반의 지역 대기 모형을 이용한 최대강수량을 산정하는 방안은 Ohara et al.(2011)에 의해 제안된 방법으로 기존의 통계학적/수문기상학적 방법의 논리적 약점인 기후의 정상성 가정을 극복하고 비정상성을 그대로 반영할 수 있기 때문에 추후 가능최대강수량(Probable Maximum Precipitation, PMP) 산정 연구에도 좋은 대안이 될 것으로 기대된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 차세대 대기모델인 WRF를 이용하여 이러한 방법론을 국내에 적용하고 그 가능성을 평가해보았다.

  • 공장 내에 사용되는 통신 방식은 사람의 생명과 자산에 심각한 영향을 줄 수 있어 결정론적, 짧은 대기시간, 신뢰성, 고가용성, 사이버 보안 그리고 기능 안전에 대한 명확한 요구사항을 만족해야 한다. 본고에서는 최근 활발히 논의되고 있는 스마트공장을 위한 산업네트워크 동향에 대하여 IEC 국제 표준 규격을 바탕으로 살펴본다.

  • Dynamic behaviour of point tracking system mounted on flying vehicle shaking in a random manner is investigated and the system dynamic is represented by nonlinear stochastic equations. 2-D.O.F. nonlinear stochastic equations are successfully transformed to linear stochastic equations via equivalent linearization procedure in stochastic sense. Newly developed hybrid technique is used to obtain response statistics of the system under non-white random excitation, which is proved to be remarkably accurate one by performing stochastic simulation.

  • This paper attempts to evaluate an environmental regulation program which enforces installation of filtering equipment to reduce major air pollutants from used diesel vehicles. A real option model is presented to incorporate fuel cost uncertainty and irreversibility of emission-reducing investment. A finite-life option based on finite difference method is developed to consider the limited life expectancy of used vehicles. After taking into account social benefits from emission reduction and costs from decreasing fuel efficiency after the adoption of filtering technology, the result finds overall positive performance of the Pollution Reduction Program. However, the result suggests that the Program be designed to be more specific to vehicle types to improve program performance.

  • Investigation is performed on the stability of general form of dynamic system under colored noise random disturbance whose damping and stiffness are varying in irregular manner along time, which is a preliminary result in the course of research on the characteristic and the control of the stochastic system. Adopted physical model is airfoil under random atmospheric disturbance, which becomes a "time-varying system" whose the governing equation is derived via F-P-K approach in stochastic sense. Control performance and effect of 'Heo-stochastic controller for colored noise' is studied. Also stochastic feature of flutter boundary is discussed as well.

  • In general, attenuation at frequencies over 20GHz is mainly due to absorption by satmospheric gases, rain, and snow. Among this factors rain become an important limiting factor. Rain attenuation is highly influenced by rainfall-intensity and it varies over time and space. Thus it is requeired to obtain spatial and temporal data of rainfall-intensity for precise prediction of rainfall attenuation. In this paper, rainfall intensity of thiry-two measurement sites in South Korea excluding JeiJdo Islands over recent ten years is obtained and the regional relation between rainfall-intensity and percent of time is analyzed. Also we present the new method about rainfall-intensity cumulative distribution.
