The purpose of this study was to develop the evaluation questions to enhance the higher-thinking skills such as decision-making, creative thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and metacognition in the housing area of middle school home economics. Two steps, selection of contents, development of questions and check the validity were adapted to develop the questions. The total of 28 evaluation elements were selected from the validity of contents and questions related to housing in the 9 textbooks based on the 2007 revised curriculum and in the three on-line question banks operated by public institutions. Four guidelines such as using multi-classified table, various materials, question types, and question structures were applied to develop the evaluation questions. The 80 evaluation questions with 175 associated sub questions related to housing were reviewed two times by two professionals to finalize. The five home economics teachers with various teaching experience have evaluated the validity of each 80 questions. The 57(71.3%) questions got 5 point with average of 4,9 out of 5 point-Likert validity scale. The result of high validity of the evaluation questions developed in this study examined by 5 teachers need to apply to students' test in the class.

The purpose of this research was to develop the tools needed to evaluate the effectiveness of using digital textbooks and smart education. We then developed the tools to evaluate the effectiveness of smart education and digital textbook utilization, which were an identification of 1) seven essential 21st century skills, definitions of each, and prerequisite abilities; 2) five 21st century teacher competencies, definitions of each, and prerequisite abilities; To develop the questionnaire, we conducted a literature review in this area, consulted experts, observed classes, interviewed members of focus groups, and met with policy makers from the Ministry of Education and KERIS. The student questionnaire(26 Questions developed) included; creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, ICT literacy, self-directed learning, and adaptability. The teacher questionnaire(24 questions developed) included; 21st Century Skills, ICT Literacy, Rapport building with learners, Instructional design, Evaluation and reflection. The tools we developed will be able to use for evaluating the effectiveness of smart education and digital textbooks.

The purpose of the study are to identify factors of mathematical visualization through the thirty students of highschool 2nd year and to investigate how each visualization factor is used in mathematics problem solving process. Specially, this study performed the qualitative case study in terms of the five of thirty students to obtain the high grade in visuality assessment. As a result of the analysis, visualization factors were categorized into mental images, external representation, transformation or operation of images, and spacial visualization abilities. Also, external representation, transformation or operation of images, and spacial visualization abilities were subdivided more specifically.

In order to determine whether there is a significant correlation between relational understanding and creative math. problem finding ability, this study performed relational understanding and problem finding ability tests on a sample of 186 8th grade middle school students. According to the study results, we found a very significant positive correlation between relational understanding and the creativity of the mathematising ability and the combining ability of mathematical concepts in the problem finding ability. Although there was no statistically significant correlation between relational understanding and the extension ability of mathematical facts, the results from analyzing the students response rate and actual scores in each test showed that students with high relational understanding scores also had high response rate and high scores in analogical reasoning and inductive reasoning. Through this study, therefore, relational understanding is found to have a positive impact on the creative mathematics problem finding ability.

The purpose of this study is to examine the arguments about the conceptualization and the assessment of mental capacity and legal competence concerning the adult guardianship. Based on these literature reviews, the author analysed Mental Capacity Act 2005 of United Kingdom. The act conceptualizes legal competence as a concept dependent on a specific decision, time, and environmental support or convenience. According to the act, the assessment of the legal competence shall be made with ensuring the person all the viable supports and environmental conveniences. And it appears that the hierarchical assessment system of the act assures that the more the decision is important the more professional and more formal assessment shall be used. Based on these findings the author suggested several implications for the legislation of a new adult guardianship act in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to explore a possibility finding gifted underachievers who have high spatial ability, but low verbal ability in elementary science field. In Korea, because teachers used to refer students' academic achievement only when they recommend gifted students, underachievers used to be excluded. The participants are 5th-grade students in elementary school. In this research, developed teaching materials were given to students to find underachievers. Results of spatial ability test, verbal ability test, science academic achievement, non-verbal test, and interviews about light propagation concept were obtained. By analyzing results of this study, we found that spatial ability is the most important factors to understand light propagation. And there are some features to understand light propagation according to spatial ability. Lastly, this study shows the possibility of non-verbal test to find gifted underachievers with high spatial ability and low verbal ability.

The DoD of United State, the MoD of United Kingdom and NATO have developed and implemented not only the concepts of joint capability but also management system for the joint capability to respond the future uncertain operations effectively. The resources of the DoD in United State have been efficiently planning, programming, budgeting, execution and evaluation using the PPBEE system which developed based on the concept of joint capability. The joint capability of the DoD has been managing through the JCAMS (Joint Capability Area Management System) which constructed based on JCA, UJTL and so on. Recently the MND of Korea eager to try introducing concept of the JCMS and developing the JCMS like the JCAMS of DoD for the future joint operation in the uncertain environment. We propose the holistic mechanism to develop the JCMS (Joint Capability Management System) of MND which can implement during the constructing the JCMS of Korea efficiently and effectively.

The purpose of this study is to conceptualize reading capital in the career context and to provide basic data for further study by exploring the components of reading capital. For this purpose, previous studies and literature were reviewed. In addition, we conducted big data analysis regarding 209 papers concerning various activities related to reading, and explored the components of reading capital. Through this study, reading capital can express personal, intangible ability such as literacy, experience, and attitude embodied through reading, and enable understanding persons, looking at the world positively, and creating personal, social and economic values. The components of reading capital are reading competency and humanistic knowledge; the former was conceptualized to be reading literacy, reading activity, reading attitude, reading ability, and the latter was conceptualized to be emotional intelligence, relationship, self-identity, creativity, adaptability, self-directedness and values. The definitions and components researched of the reading capital derived through this study are thought to be highly useful as basic data for the expansion of research between related studies.

Teaching competence is the best part of mathematics teachers's competence. It need to make instruction plan by oneself, systematic self-reflection and improvement in instruction performance for development of teaching competence of pre-service mathematics teacher. So teaching practicum is the necessary process to teaching experience. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop an component and application procedure of Teaching portfolio for improvement teaching component of pre-service mathematics teacher in teaching practicum. The cognitive abilities are functions in human brain. They are closely with the real life. The cognitive abilities are likely to be decreased when human gets older and older. Fortunately, due to the plasticity of human brain, it is possible to help recover and rehabilitate brain function. Those efforts are called brain training and cognitive ability training. The cognitive ability training needs continuous trials and efforts. But many users feel boring because of simple repetitive works. This paper proposes a cognitive training system implemented in a smart device. The proposed system is designed to make users to focus on the repetitive training by using game-based tasks on the smart device. It shows that the proposed system is effective to attention and flexible on cognitive training game.
