  • Companies that have suffered serious labor shortages are relocating their factories abroad where they can solve this problem by increasing the employment of foreign workers. Construction sites also employ foreign workers to supplement the scarce manpower, and the demand for foreign workers has been gradually increasing over time. Recently, based on discussions on whether or not to introduce foreign workers, the policy on the input of foreign workers into domestic construction sites has been shifted to exploring the actual input conditions and efficient management methods. In this study, we investigated the current status and input situation of foreign workers at the construction sites of the target area, analyzed the problems they posed from the manager's viewpoint, and derived a method of improving the utilization of foreign workers at construction sites. In order to proceed with this study, we surveyed the actual situation of the construction sites, which consisted mainly of foreign workers and domestic workers (managers), by investigating the construction sites, and conducted 1: 1 interviews to ensure the reliability of the survey. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed using the SPSS analysis program, and the response rate was analyzed for each item. As a result, various problems, such as institutional problems, communication problems, and quality deterioration due to malfunction, appeared. Therefore, this study derives an improvement plan for the efficient utilization of foreign workers by improving the institutional level related to their language education, wages and employment.

As the result of study, this study resulted in that consignment education performed by professional education institutions would be more helpful for improvement of job competence than in-house education performed by company itself. • The dual system in Korea already plays an important role in quantitative terms in the Korean lifelong vocational competency development system. However, since most of the existing dual system performance management plans in Korea focus on qualification-linked dual system, research on the effective performance management of the four-year university-driven dual system is very insufficient. This paper presents multiple measures for developing a performance management system suitable for the university-driven dual system to achieve qualitative improvement of the contract departments of the dual colleges or universities. As an approach to the end, a performance evaluation system is established by developing the evaluation items and indicators for the dual colloeges' contract departments. Next, it analyzes the needs of various stakeholder groups such as field teachers of the involved companies, students in apprenticeship and OJT professors of KOREATECH through FGI's and polls to diagnose the current operational performance, especially the causes of high drpout rates of the contract departments. From these results, the paper presents firstly the development of measuring methods for the developed performance indicators of the evaluation system and then a systemic performance management system which is based on 'input-transformation-outcome-feedback' structure. In addition, some measures for improving the high dropout rate and performance are presented from the viewpoints of each stakeholder.

  • As one of the REACH obligations, the extended safety data sheet (eSDS) should be communicated within the supply chain under the REACH Regulation. Based on technical guidance documents published on the ECHAs website and survey of EU's recent REACH-related informations, this paper includes a study on details of how to develop exposure scenarios (ES) such as structure of ES, process of ES develpoment, standard workflows and key input data to develop ES with an introduction of eSDS concept. This paper also contains an overview on operational conditions (OCs) and risk management measures (RMMs) that are what to consider when building an ES. The structure of Chesar (Chemical Safety Assessment and Report tool) developed by European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is studied with a review of the available exposure estimation tools for workers, environment and consumers. Case example of generic exposure scenario (GES) for organic solvent is presented. To guide Korean EU-exporting companies, their participating roles in three steps of preparing ES are addressed.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the mediating effect of job stress and Job engagement in job satisfaction between WFC(Work-Family Conflict) and quality of LMX(eader-member exchange) relationship of married female workers based on JD-R(Job Demands-Resources) model. A total of 945 people were targeted using the 7th panel data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and a structural equation model was used to verify the causal relationship and mediating effect of each variable using spss 23.0 and AMOS 21.0. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that WFC did not directly affect job satisfaction, and it was found that job satisfaction was negatively affected through job stress related to WFC. It was found that the quality of the LMX relationship had a positive effect on job satisfaction and reduced job stress, thus positively affecting job satisfaction. Job engagement was found to mediate the relationship between LMX and job satisfaction. This study is meaningful in that the search for multidimensional psychological and contextual factors that lead to job performance and job demands of married female workers are conducted.

  • Smart work is an alternative form to enable seamless business collaboration without time and space limitations using ICT. However, smart work implementation has not produced tangible achievements and sometimes has resulted in failure. This study examined users' resistance against smart work, which is regarded as one of the most important elements for the successful implementation of smart work. The study classified elements which cause users' resistance into the work's innovative characteristics and the user characteristics based on the model of innovation resistance. It also set the degree of freedom in spatial and temporal dimension as moderating factors. This empirical research results showed that low work efficiency, unfavorable evaluation methods, and high degree of satisfaction in the way of working affected smart work users' resistance. In addition, temporal freedom had a moderating effect on the relationship between users' characteristics and their resistance. On the contrary, spatial freedom affected the relationship between their works' innovative characteristics and their resistance. The study results suggest that organizations need to set up business processes and evaluation methods first to adopt Smart work successfully.
