  • This study analyzed the effects of information orientation and technology commercialization ability on technological performance of corporate workers. Information Orientation consisted of information technology capability, information management ability, information behavior and value, and technology commercialization capability consisted of productization capability, production capability, and marketing capability as sub-variables, and technology accumulation capacity was used as a coordinating variable. An empirical analysis was performed on 349 online and offline questionnaires collected from corporate employees. Analysis results using SPSS v22.0 and Process macro v3.4 First, information orientation and technical performance were found to have a significant effect. In addition, information orientation had a significant effect on technology commercialization capability. The magnitude of the influence on the productive capacity and the productive capacity in the variable of competency was in the order of information technology ability, information management ability, information behavior and value, but the influence on marketing capability was different from the previous results. Information management ability and information technology ability were in order. Second, the product commercialization capability, production capability, and marketing ability of technology commercialization ability had a significant effect on technology performance independently of information orientation. Third, the information technology ability and information management ability had a significant influence on the technical performance, but the indirect effect through the commercialization ability and marketing ability in information behavior and value was significant, the indirect effect of transit was not significant. Fourth, only the interaction terms of production capacity and technology accumulation capacity were significant among the sub-variables of technology commercialization capacity, and technology accumulation capacity, commercialization capacity, and marketing ability were not significant. Therefore, the relationship between productive capacity and technological performance can be interpreted as lower in firms with high technology accumulating ability than in lower firms, subsequent studies will require the introduction of other independent variables, models through the introduction of parameters and control variables.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of SMEs' technological competitiveness and technology marketing on commercialization performance. For this, we conducted a survey targeting 204 people who are in charge of new product or technology development in SMEs which possess corporate R&D center authorized by the government on technological competitiveness, technology marketing and commercialization performance. The paper studied the effects of technological competitiveness on technology marketing and commercialization performance, technology marketing on commercialization performance. Empirical analysis shows follow results. First, technological competitiveness which includes technology innovation capability, technology commercialization capability and R&D intensity (investment on R&D personnel) have a positive effect on technology marketing. Second, technology commercialization capability have a positive effect on commercialization sales performance & commercialization non-sales performance, R&D intensity (investment on R&D physical) have a positive effect on commercialization non-sales performance. Third, high core technology and enabling technology on technology marketing result in better commercialization performance. As a result, technology-centered SMEs need to make continuous efforts to elevate technological competitiveness factors such as technology innovation capability, technology commercialization capability and R&D intensity.

  • This study assesses the structure relationships between resource, product and process innovation capability, technology commercialization competence and performance of firms in Daedeok Innopolis. In particular, this study attempts to analyze technology commercialization competence that may be influenced by product and process capabilities. The development of the research model is based on the literature of resource-based view and the empirical studies of technology commercialization competence. The survey of 109 firms was conducted from January 5, 2015 through February 4, 2015. We investigate the role of a firm's technology commercialization competence in determining its performance by performing Partial Least Squares analysis. The results indicate that a firm's human resources and intangible resources lead to a higher level of its product and process innovation capabilities. This study, however, finds that a firm's tangible resources do not have significant effects on its product and process innovation capabilities. And the study finds evidence that firm's product and process capabilities have positive effects on its technology commercialization competence. The study also finds that a firm's technology commercialization competence is a driving force behind its performance, showing that its technology commercialization competence positively involves its performance. In addition the study finds that technology commercialization competence mediates the relationship between a firm's innovation capability and performance, indicating that the technology commercialization used as mediating variable positively affects its innovation performance.

  • This study is based on the analysis of technology innovation performance for Inno-biz. The primary purposes of this study are to help the government formulate Inno-biz related supporting policies and improve the fitness of evaluation models for Inno-biz. In this study the definition of "the outcome of technology innovation" includes technology competitiveness changes, technology forecasting as well as the outcome of technology innovation. For this analysis, 55 independent variables were used and categorized into ability of technology innovation, ability of commercialization, and ability of technology management. The results indicate that all three variable groups have positively influenced the outcome of technology innovation. Especially ability of technology innovation is highly related to technology competitiveness and business in future. The ability of commercialization enhances technology competitiveness and predictability in major business indexes; however it doesn't influence business performance in a short-term period. The ability of technology management enables businesses to forecast technology changes, but doesn't effect short-term business outcomes.

  • Public research institutes in Korea have been criticized for attaching great importance to developing new technologies than actively moving them to the industry. Despite the various effort to enhance the technology transfer and commercialization by Korean government and government-funded research institutes, the gap between R&D outcome and real world application does not seem to be reduced. In this context, this study investigates a successful case of TT by a research institute. The aim of this study is to draw the factors of successful and TT which may be applied to other government funded research institute. The finding suggest marketability of technology, commercialization-oriented attitude, technology complementary assets and technological absorption capacity, matching of goals between the partenars and finally the timely utilization of public support program of commercialization are important factors.

  • In this study, the purpose of the study is to derive the relationship between factors affecting the establishment of start-up companies, technical innovation performance, and technology commercialization, and to confirm the effects of start-up factors and technology commercialization on the technological innovation performance based on the analysis. For this research, a survey was conducted on employees aged 20 or older who were employed in large national enterprises or medium and small-sized enterprises, etc. and the results of the empirical analysis were as follows. Firstly, the factors influencing start-ups were found to have a significant impact on the technology commercialization(manufacturing capacity, producing capacity). Secondly, technology commercialization had a significant impact on the technological innovation performance(business performance, customer performance), and thirdly, technology commercialization had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between start-up factors and technical performance. This study confirmed that the factors of start-up, technology commercialization, and technological innovation performance have statistically significant impact relations, and further research on start-up factors and technology commercialization is necessary for the technological innovation and creation of companies.
