  • This Paper deals with a collaborative decision making procedure of web-based DSS for supply chain management (SCM). The seemingly autonomous DSS dedicated to each of mutually exclusive prob1em domains forms a communication network and cooperates each other for better SCM decision making. We a1so propose a hub-spoke information sharing model for the DSS network. In the hub-spoke model, an information hub at the center facilitates information exchange between DSS\\`s and controls the conversations defined by the series of XML messages between agents of DSS. A product ordering scenario where supply decision is triggered upon customer order is used to demonstrate the SCM decision procedure through a collaboration of the web-based DSS.

  • The purpose of the research was to explore clothing characteristics that tween girls(ages 9-14) consider important when deciding what to wear, as well as what the tween girls' mothers believe that their daughters value. The purposive sample consisted of 41 mother-daughter pairs recruited by $[TC]^2$ (Textile/Clothing Technology Corporation). Subjects were divided into younger(9-11) and older(12-14) normal- and plus-size groups based on Body Mass Index(BMI). There were significant differences between mothers and daughters in rating the importance of seven decision criteria concerning what to wear. The entire tween girls reported that clothes that fit well as the most important criteria in deciding what to wear. Clothes that were comfortable was the only criterion significantly related to the tween girls' body dissatisfaction scores. Mothers rated clothes that are the newest fashion and that friends would be wearing as being significantly more important than their daughters reported. There was a significant negative correlation between tween girls' body dissatisfaction scores and choosing clothes that are comfortable. Normal-size tweeen girls and their mothers differed significantly only when considering the newest fashion and what friends would be wearing. Plus-size tween girls and their mothers differed significantly for four criteria: fit, comfort, best looking, and what friends would be wearing. Both younger and older groups differed with mothers concerning what friends would be wearihng. Additionally, younger girls placed significantly more emphasis than their mothers fit. Older girls did not consider the newest fashion an important a decision criterion, but their mothers believed that they did.

  • This study is a one-group pre-post experimental design that investigates the effects of a practice-based learning program with multiple components on the clinical competence of nursing students, and clinical decision-making. From May 4 to 29, 2020, a total of 60 third-year nursing students with no clinical practice experience were divided into two teams and participated in multi-component practice-based education for two weeks each, and the data of the final 51 students were included in the analysis. Following the practicum, there was a significant increase in clinical competence (t=-4.74, p<.001) and self-confidence in clinical decision-making (t=-8.41, p<.001), and a decrease in anxiety related to clinical decision-making (t=2.54, p=.014). The findings suggest that a multi-component, practice-based learning approach for nursing students can enhance their clinical competence, reduce preclincal anxiety and increase confidence in clinical decision-making in patient care.

  • It is very important to select the best alternative for a manufacturing enterprise. However, more often than not this work is carried out unsatisfactorily. In this paper, we will present a new model for evaluating alternatives. Two main results derived from this paper are as follows: 1. A selection model of alternative is suggested that each decision maker's opinion is equally evaluated and the preference of each attribute can also be considered simultaneously. 2. A proposed method is especially effective to analyze a data structure with fuzzy and crisp data.

  • Convertible bonds are financial products that contain the nature of both bonds and shares, which are generally issued by companies with lower credit ratings to increase liquidity. Conversion bonds rely on qualitative judgment in the past, although decision-making on whether and when to exercise the right to convert is the most important issue. Therefore, this paper proposes to apply artificial neural network techniques to scientifically determine the exercise of conversion rights. We distinguish between a total of 1,800 learning data published in the past and 200 predictive experimental data and build an artificial neural network learning model. As a result, the parity performance in most groups was excellent, achieving an average excess of about 10% or more. In particular, groups 3-6 recorded an average excess of about 20% and group 6 recorded an average excess of about 37%. This paper is meaningful in that it focused on solving decision problems by converging and applying machine learning techniques, a representative technology of the fourth industry, to the financial sector.

  • In this paper, travel speed patterns were deducted based on historical DSRC travel speed data using Decision Tree technique to improve availability of the massive amount of historical data. These patterns were designed to reflect spatio-temporal vicissitudes in reality by generating pattern units classified by months, time of day, and highway sections. The study area was from Seoul TG to Ansung IC sections on Gyung-bu highway where high peak time of day frequently occurs in South Korea. Decision Tree technique was applied to categorize travel speed according to day of week. As a result, five different pattern groups were generated: (Mon)(Tue Wed Thu)(Fri)(Sat)(Sun). Statistical verification was conducted to prove the validity of patterns on nine different highway sections, and the accuracy of fitting was found to be 93%. To reduce travel pattern errors against individual travel speed data, inclusion of four additional variables were also tested. Among those variables, 'traffic condition on previous month' variable improved the pattern grouping accuracy by reducing 50% of speed variance in the decision tree model developed.
