The Cyber Transformation of Marketing Mix Model : An Empirical Study of Korean On-line Shopping Malls (마케팅 믹스 모델의 사이버 전환에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This paper presents an analysis of how the business models of organizations are getting transformed in the Marketspace created by the Internet. We use a research model comprising the transformation scores of four Ps(Product, Price, Promotion, and Place) as dependent variables and three dimensions, Demographics, Technology, and Community elements on the Websites, as explaining variables about the Cyber Transformation of the 4Ps. While most existing literatures have focused on Website's technology, our research model includes 22 five-point-scale items; 10 Demographics /Technology items and 12 Community items. To measure the 4P's transformation scores, the authors selected 14 workable items from the Marketspace Model by Dutta, Kwan, & Segev(1997). A sample of 123 shopping mall Websites comprising three categories(grocery, jewelry/accessory, and cosmetics) from the 100hot.co.kr list are evaluated and the data is analyzed by SPSSWIN 8.0 version. The result shows that there are five significant factors, Technology, Interaction, Connectedness, Business Features, and Domain, while the average transformation scores of 4Ps are at very low level. The factor scores are used in regression analysis for each P. Two factors, Technology and Interaction are influencing all four Ps; Connectedness is influencing only two, Product and Place. Organizations must not simply take their existing business models. They have to adopt the Technology items(navigation, logo, e-mail, guide, graphics) and to facilitate the Interaction items(consulting, number/quality of bulletin boards, participation, offline events) and Connectedness(club activation, contents, partner/site link, entertainment contents) in order to get transformed in the Marketspace successfully in the near future.

  • Many countries have established eBook standards adequate to their environments. In USA, OEB PS is announced for distribution and display of eBooks, in Japan, JepaX is announced for storage and exchange, and in Korea, EBKS is made for clear exchange of eBook contents. These diverse objectives lead to different content structures. These variety of content structure will cause a problem in exchanging them. To correctly exchange eBook contents, the content structure should be considered. So, In this paper, we study conversion methods of standard eBooks contents based on Korean eBook standard, with contemplating content structure. To convert contents properly, the mapping relations should be clearly defined. For this, we consider standard's structure and extension mechanisms, and use path notations and namespaces for precise description. Moreover, through analysis of each mapping relationships, we classify conversion cases into automatic, semi-automatic, and manual conversions. Finally we write up conversion scripts and experiment with them.

  • The 'Quality Competitiveness Index' (QCI) is defined as an quantitative and disinterested indicator that measures and compares the quality of products across the world. The purpose of this study is to suggest the 'Quality Competitiveness Assessment Model' (QCAM) and calculate QCI of a popular UHF RFID Label tag (Global ISO 18000-3C supported) available these days in a global apparel market. The model was based on KS-QEI(Korean Standard-Quality Excellence Index), and was composed with the following 4 evaluation categories, a process capability test, an environmental reliability test, a durability test and a design margin test. The QCI score can be calculated with the following formula, using the weighted arithmetic mean between a score of each evaluation category ($X_1$, $X_2$, $X_3$, $X_4$) and each weight($w_1$, $w_2$, $w_3$, $w_4$). The actual weights was determined by an result of AHP survey to which was conducted for the related Industry-University-Institute experts. The proposed index shows the results of comparisons with global competitor's products as well as the high-quality domestic RFID label tags. In addition, it will play an important role for manufacturers when developing their future products.

  • This study evaluates the importance of negotiation agendas and the possibility of reaching the Korea-China FTA agreement. It assesses the current situation of trade barriers in the audiovisual service sector of China and then examines a survey of practitioners and experts to screen important regulations. The results are as follows: First, considering the national economic situation in Korea and the environment of the Chinese trade barrier, an important agenda is to enable the direct service of online games and to reach a co-production agreement in the audiovisual service sector. Second, an agenda regarding the co-production agreement of an audio-visual service sector has high potential to be realized, followed by agendas regarding online game and music services. In the broadcasting and film service sectors, with their high cultural identity, a mutual cooperative approach is needed. Korea bringing up the agenda regarding online service may allow it to gain a net benefit for the next FATs. To realize a mutual cooperative approach, it is necessary to form a frame of mutual interests and cooperation through a co-production agreement of audio-visual service. If both countries agree to acknowledge co-produced content as each country's contents, both would benefit.

  • Korean construction engineering firms want to pave the way for expansion of overseas markets through the World Bank's Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects as a way to improve their overseas project performance. However, since the World Bank project competes with global companies for limited projects, building partnerships with suitable business partners is essential to gain an upper hand in bidding competition and meet the institutional conditions of the recipient country. In this regard, many network studies have been conducted in the past through Social Network Analysis (SNA), but few have been analyzed based on the process of changes in the network. So, This study collected winning data from the three Southeast Asian countries that ended after the World Bank's ODA project performed smoothly, and established a learning-based link prediction model that reflected the dynamic nature of the network. As a result, the 11 main variables acting on building a cooperative relationship between winning companies were derived and the effect of each variables on the probability value of cooperation between individual links was identified.

  • This study is an empirical analysis of the characteristics of the organization and the performance of the company. The characteristics that make up the culture of a company's organization determine its success. Overcoming the company's closed cultural characteristics, entrepreneurial orientation, delegation, openness of organizational culture, and R&D capabilities have a positive impact on the company's performance. These characteristics of the company also play a positive role in embracing open innovation to generate innovative results. The characteristics of a company positively consider the acceptance and utilization of external resources. These variables proved that the nature of a company's organization is a factor in generating a company's performance. In this process, open innovation and the acceptance of external resources also proved to be a positive factor in generating corporate performance. The contents of this study provide an academic basis for the variables that build corporate organizational culture and provide a practical attitude to the role of leaders in managing corporate organizational culture. This study is focused on women's SMEs. n future research, the overall characteristics of the company will be considered. In addition, this study attempts to verify by applying various variables for generating performance of domestic SMEs by reflecting overcoming regional limitations.

Did the Handling Fee Decline Cause Consumer Surplus in the Port Business Market in Korea? : The Case of Busan port (컨테이너 하역요율 하락은 소비자잉여를 증가시켰는가? : 부산항을 중심으로)

  • As increasing of container throughputs, port business market in Korea has been developed. However, due to the introducing of a handling fee reporting system in 1999 and surplus of facilities, port business market in Korea turned into deadly competition with lowering the handling fee. Due to the reasons, the handling fee in 2015 declined as much as 50% of in 2000. Therefore, this study analyzed whether the handling fee decline caused consumer surplus in the port business market of Korea or not. To do that, this study applied a methodology of Alexander for estimating the consumer surplus and Hausman's model using Hicksian demand. As the result of the analyzing, due to the excessive decreasing of the handling fee compared the import & export demand, consumer surplus of the port business market in Korea was decreased. However, due to the exception of transshipment from demand in this study, transshipment demand is needed to be considered to estimate of economic value of port business market in Korea in the future. Also, economic value of port business including subsidiary businesses will be estimated in order to strengthen the method for estimating economic benefit of port construction.

  • This study contains the results obtained after two and a half years of developing a knitting customization website using a knitting machine. Recently in the fashion world, various services using customization are being provided, and devices that users can design directly using knitting machines are being developed. However the existing website for knitting machine does not provide a certain usability or layout, so it is difficult for users to use open source and custom design. Therefore, this study was conducted for the purpose of developing a website that provides ease of use to users who will use the knitting customizing service using a knitting machine. As a research method, the first usability evaluation was conducted by synthesizing the studies conducted for the knit customization website development work. As a result of the study, found the problems of the initial custom screen and the initial output screen were found, and convenience, intuition, and readability were improved. Secondary usability evaluation was conducted on the modified website and it was confirmed that the problem was corrected. Through the website finally derived from this study, it is expected that the new platform in the domestic knit market will be popularized and the usability of the custom website will be improved.

Food component characteristics and antioxidant activities of commercial shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes) (시판 표고의 식품성분 특성 및 항산화 활성)

  • This study analyzed food component characteristics and antioxidant activities in five kinds of domestic commercial shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes). Moisture content (79.17-82.90 g/100 g) showed little difference, but there was a significant difference in crude protein content. Total mineral content showed a significant difference, and potassium (K) content was the highest. Total and essential amino acid contents were higher in mushroom A than in the other samples. Nonetheless, the ratios of essential amino acids, aspartic acid, and glutamic acid to total amino acids were similar in all samples. 𝛽-Glucan content was in the range of 10.28-5.68 g/100 g, exhibiting a significant difference. The color intensity and overall texture of the mushrooms showed no remarkable difference. Total phenol and flavonoid contents were in the range of 19.92-30.77 mg/100 g and 6.95-10.39 mg/100 g, respectively; the ratio of flavonoids to total phenols ranged from 31.53% to 38.21%. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were 74.92-79.04% and 80.47-84.97%, respectively, and showed little difference. However, the reducing power varied between 195.23 𝜇M and 317.85 𝜇M, displaying a significant difference in all samples. Therefore, this study observed similar trends in the food component characteristics and antioxidant activities of domestic commercial shiitake mushrooms.

An Analysis of Delivery and Take-out Food Consumption According to Household Type (1인가구와 다인가구의 배달·테이크아웃 식품소비행태 비교 분석)

  • In this study, using the raw data of the 7th Food Consumption Behavior Survey(2019), compare and analyze what factors affect the food delivery service and take-out food expenditure of single-person and multi-person households. It was found that women(especially women in single-person households), have a high tendency to pursue safety preference versus price. In the future, Korea's population structure is expected to steadily increase single-person household and elderly households, and women's participation in economic activities is expected to continue to increase. In addition, the food delivery market has more than doubled compared to the previous year in 12 cities and provinces out of 17 cities and provinces nationwide with Covid-19, especially in the non-capital area, making it has become a universal service nationwide. Therefore, the growing home meal replacement market needs marketing strategies to secure and emphasize food safety.
