For this purpose, this paper considered the theories of religious media pedagogic and the concept of symbo1ic didactics relating to religious symbols in popular culture. In this paper, a total of eight cases of applying symbolic didactics were developed using the example of "The Da Vinci Code", based on the theoretical framework of religious media education and symbolic didactics. In order for this education to be applied effectively, experimental studies have to be carried out verifying the learning effects regarding this education. In particular, education for teachers who will tarry out this education is needed. This is because, in media education, the efficiency of education is significantly affected by the capacity of the one who is teaching.

  • The goal of this research was to clarify how a child's maladjustment affects the teacher-child relationship and leads to teaching stress. Subjects were 178 teacher-child pairs in kindergartens or day care centers. The child was 3 to 5-years-old and perceived by its teacher as having maladjusted behavior. Teachers responded to the Index of Teaching Stress(Greene, Abidin, & Kmetz, 1997) and the Student-Teacher Relationships Scale(Pianta 1991). The maladjusted behaviors observed by teachers were correlated with each other. ADHD was the biggest problem perceived by teachers. Most fields of maladjusted children's behaviors caused stress to teachers except those of intellectual deficit and academic Problems. Frustration peaked during the teaching process. More severely maladjusted behaviors resulted in greater conflict in teacher-child relationships.

  • This study examined how students' satisfaction with their major department influences their organizational commitment and intention to pursue a career in tourism-related fields among college students majoring in hospitality and tourism. The results indicated that their overall satisfaction with their department affected positively their organizational commitment but not the behavioral intention to pursue career in the tourism-related fields. Organizational commitment, on the other hands, exerted a positively significant influence behavioral intention to pursue tourism-related career. The results of this study underscored the needs for the educators to manage students' psychological attachment to the department they belong to and their major field of study. Continuous relationship-building efforts should be made for the students to pursue tourism-related career after graduation. Such efforts include efficient communication between faculty and students, extended supports from the school and alumni to the students, and last but not the least, sufficient supports from colleges.
