A hybrid SNCR/SCR plant was designed and manufactured, and experimented on the SNCR process in the first step to investigate the optimum operation conditions of SNCR, with the equivalence ratio of the reducing agent(NSR, 0.5~5.0), reaction temperature($850{\sim}1,100^{\circ}C$), nozzle type(wall nozzle, pipe nozzle), and nozzle position as variables. In the case of wall nozzles, the NOx reduction efficiency rapidly increased to 87% at 2.5 NSR and slowed down after this. Compared to the upward spray from the pipe nozzle, wall nozzles have narrower range of applicable reaction temperature. In the case of pipe nozzles, it rapidly increased to 77% at 1.5 NSR. But the pipe nozzle downward had no NOx reduction efficiency; on the contrary, NOx increased. When the reducing agent was sprayed upward from a pipe nozzle, the NOx reduction efficiency was 50~75% in the range of 0.5~1.5 NSR, and the NOx reduction efficiency was constant without fluctuations even in the change of reaction temperature from 890 to $1,000^{\circ}C$. When 5% urea solution was sprayed upward from the pipe nozzle, 200 ppm NOx decreased to approximately 60 ppm at 1.2 NSR, and the non-reacted $NH_3$ was 50~100 ppm. In this condition, we expect over 90% NOx reduction efficiency without additional supply of $NH_3$ to SCR at the back of SNCR.
The evaluation and prediction for the absorbed energy, residual velocity, and impact damage are the key things to characterize the impact behavior of composite laminated panel subjected to high-velocity impact. In this paper, the method to predict the residual velocity and the absorbed energy of Carbon/Epoxy laminated panel subjected to high velocity impact are proposed and examined by using quasi-static perforation test and high-velocity impact test. Total absorbed energy of specimen due to the high-velocity impact can be grouped with static energy and kinetic energy. The static energy are consisted of energy due to the failure of the fiber and matrix and static elastic energy, which are related to the quasi-static perforation energy. The kinetic energy are consisted of kinetic energy of moving part of specimen, which are modelled by three modified kinetic model. The high-velocity impact test were conducted by using air gun impact facility and compared with the predicted values. The damage area of specimen were examined by C-scan image. In the high initial impact velocity above the ballistic limit, both the static energy and the kinetic energy are known to be the major contribution of the total absorbed energy.
Gravel compaction pile (GCP) is widely used as it increases the bearing capacity of soft ground and reduces the consolidation settlement. Stress concentration ratio for design is dependent on the area replacement, surcharge pressure, depth and penetration rate. However, a range of stress concentration ratio obtained through field, laboratory experiments and numerical analysis is large. But since the main objective of the study is to evaluate the stress concentration ratio and settlement for both area replacement ratio and penetration rate through numerical analysis. Numerical analysis using the finite element program ABAQUS 6.12-4 has been performed for the composite ground with GCP. As a result, the stress concentration ratio at the points except for the point of top is in the range of 1.21-5.36, 1.19-5.45, 2.16-5.60 for 60%, 80% and 100% penetration, respectively. In general, as the penetration rate and area replacement ratio increases, the stress concentration ratio tends to increase.

A60 class deck penetration piece is a fire-resistance apparatus installed on the deck compartment to protect lives and prevent flame diffusion in fire accidents. In case that the A60 piece is newly developed or its initial design is revised, it is important to verify the fire resistance performance using a fire test procedure (FTP) code. In this paper, transient heat transfer analysis was carried out to evaluate the fire resistance design compatibility of the newly devised A60 piece. The analysis results were verified via a fire test. The heat transfer characteristics were also investigated by comparing design specifications, such as diameter, internal configuration, and material type. The analysis was performed using ABAQUS/Implicit, and the fire test was performed according to the FTP code. The fire resistance performance of the A60 pieces satisfied the safety of life at sea convention regulation. The material type was the most important design specification for the A60 piece. Based on the maximum test temperature, the measured temperature of SUS316L material was 25% lower than that of S45C on average. The differences between thermal conductivity and specific heat of each material were 17% and 58%, respectively.
In this study, numerical analysis was carried out for both partially penetrated SCP(sand compaction pile) and fully penetrated SCP constructed into the ground. Midas GTS was used as a FEM analysis program, which is widely used in geotechnical engineering. For the analysis, ground displacement, effective stress and pore water pressure at the time both just after embankment on the ground and 365days later were compared and analyzed. As the results, the effect regarding partially penetrated SCP was similar to the effect regarding fully penetrated SCP under the bottom of the center of embankment when considering the safety towards shear failure.

This paper presents an automatic feature recognition system for recognizing and extracting feature information needed for the process planning input from a 3D CAD system. A given part is modeled by using the AutoCAD and feature information is automatically extracted from the AutoCAD database. The type of parts considered in this study is prismatic parts composed of faces perpendicular to the X, Y, Z axes and the types of features recognized by the proposed system are through steps, blind steps, through slots, blind slots, and pockets. Features are recognized by using the concept of convex points and concave points. Case studies are implemented to evaluate feasibilities of the function of the proposed system. The developed system is programmed by using Turbo Pascal on the IBM PC/AT on which the AutoCAD and the proposed system are implemented.

This paper describe inner-collision-characteristics of the ship structural plates when the projectile collides with plate-material using LS-DYNA3D which is general and useful finite element analysis tool in collision problem fields. The series analyses were carried out from high speed(41.56m/s-118.9m/s) to ultrahigh speed(544.05m/s-800m/s). Through these analyses we can approach empirical formula to estimate penetration limit of the ship structural plates with which the projectile of various speed collides.
A tubular member holding an axially through-gusset connection is often used to transmit axial compression in a steel truss structures. The elastic buckling loads of the member is affected by the stiffness ratio($\beta$) and the length ratio(G) because of two elements with different properties. In current code, however, the strength is evaluated with an effective length factor k=0.9 without considering the above effect. Therefore this study analyzed a theoretical mechanism based on the elasticity theory and performed a finite element analysis to investigate the influence parameters on the elastic buckling strength of axially loaded member.

Silicon substrate for light emitting diodes (LEDs) has been the tendency of LED packaging for improving power consumption and light output. In this study, a low cost and high throughput Si through via fabrication has been demonstrated using a wet etching process. Both a wet etching only process and a combination of wet etching and dry etching process were evaluated. The silicon substrate with Si through via fabricated by KOH wet etching showed a good electrical resistance (${\sim}5.5{\Omega}$) of Cu interconnection and a suitable thermal resistance (4 K/W) compared to AlN ceramic substrate.
In order to destroy the hard target, it is essential to develop a penetration warhead with high penetration performance. To design a penetration warhead, this paper discusses the effect of nose shape factors such that nose shape, nose length, nose tip diameter, on the penetration performance of the penetrator. AUTODYN-2D has been used to conduct the computational analysis. The experimental result of Forrestal, and a simulation result have been compared to verify the reliability of computational analysis. Computational results show that the nose length have more influence on the penetration performance than the nose shape. Furthermore, simulation results show that the penetration performance can be improved by increasing the nose tip diameter to a specific value, when the nose length of the penetrator is uniform.
