A Study on the Factors Influencing Interpersonal Conflict of the Private University Librarians (우리나라 사립 대학도서관 사서의 개인간 갈등에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • This paper aims to contribute to the management of university libraries by analyzing basic facts about the conflicts in terms of recent theories on personal conflicts. In this hypothetical model, mutual relationship between conflict level and each independent variable was analyzed to test various hypotheses. A step by step regression analysis was made to find out the most influential factor on conflict levels. To attain the research objectives, 18 libraries $(66.67\%)$ in 27 private universities in Seoul were selected as informants. Questionares were distributed to 336 librarians out of total 342 and 280 answer sheets were collected back. Disregarding insignificant 7 answers sheets, total 273 ($81.25\%$ of distribution ) were taken as data for this research.

  • Because of a wide range of performance and diversity of project and uncertainty caused by complexity and a number of stakeholder, conflict occur necessarily in Urban generation including large-scale and many project which do the same time, for long time. so active conflict management which recognized risk before the fact and deal with conflict is necessarily needed. Therefore, This study is typing conflict cases and indicating critical conflict type through analysis on conflict case about process and stakeholder of urban generation to offer information which is referred to finding a solution when conflict occur by forecasting conflict that can occur before the fact.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between communication and conflict in the ship organization and to analyze the affect of the conflict on the group cohesiveness and organizational effectiveness in the view of dysfunctional conflict that would play on the negative role to decrease the group cohesiveness and organizational effectiveness. The empirical survey showed that the intragroup and intergroup communications in the ship organization affect on the conflict of within and between groups, these conflicts decrease the group cohesiveness and organizational effectiveness, and that cohesiveness affect the organizational commitment and the job satisfaction of ship organization member significantly.

Married Working Women's Work-Family Conflict and Facilitation on Depression (맞벌이 여성의 일가족 경험이 우울에 미치는 영향 : 일가족갈등과 일가족촉진의 통합적 접근)

  • This study set out to investigate relationship between work-family conflict and depression and especially moderating effect of work-family facilitation. Data came from Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family 2012. The final sample size was 2,716 married employed women in South Korea. Analysis methods were multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, married employed women showed more higher level of work-family facilitation than work-family conflict and work-family facilitation correlated with work-family conflict positively. Second, work-family conflict affected significantly depression. Third, work-family facilitation moderated significantly the relationship between work-family conflict and depression. The limitations and implications of the findings from this study were discussed with respect to further studies.

The Effects of Environmental Dynamism on Relationship Characteristics, Credibility, and Benevolence in Distribution Channel System (환경의 동태성이 유통경로 시스템에서 관계특성, 그리고 신용과 호의에 미치는 영향)

  • While a number of studies have recognized the importance of environment of channel systems and consequences of changed environment, only limited studies have dealt with this issue theoretically and practically. The purpose of this study is to empirically validate whether one dimension of environment, called dynamism, has an influence on the relationship characteristics such as transaction specific investment opportunism and conflict or not: further, it is designed to delve into whether these relationship characteristics have any influence on one crucial relationship quality, 'trust' and its two constituent dimensions - credibility and benevolence. In order to provide empirical validation, a survey was conducted to 163 sales office managers at a major newspaper publisher in Korea. An analysis of the data retrieved from this survey indicated that while environmental dynamism has a positive influence on the publisher's opportunism and conflict perceived by the sales office managers, it did not show a direct influence on the transaction specific investment made by the publisher. Furthermore, while publisher's transaction specific investment had a positive influence on the credibility and the benevolence respectively, publisher's opportunism and level of sales office conflict had a negative influence on the credibility and the benevolence respectively. Currently, a publisher is facing an unprecedentedly dynamic environment. This study should provide ample implications for the publisher in establishing trust, which is a crucial condition in developing and maintaining a long-term successful relationship with its sales offices.

Work-Familiy Interface and Organizational Outcomes in Female Managers: The Moderating Effects of Family-friendly Organizational Culture (여성관리자의 일-가정 상호관계와 조직성과: 가족친화적 조직문화의 조절효과 분석)

  • Work-family interface including work-family conflict and work-family enrichment has an effect on organizational performance such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This empirical research mainly investigated influence of family-friendly organizational culture on work-family interface and organizational performance. Three key variables apply for this research : work-family interface, organizational performance and family-friendly organizational culture. A total 750 questionnaire was collected from female managers in various companies for hypothesis testing. The empirical analysis shows that reducing work-family conflict and enhancing work-family enrichment positively contribute to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The Family-friendly organizational culture plays a moderating role between work-family interface and organizational performance. As a result, the findings support the fact that family-friendly organizational culture impact on organizational performance through work-family balance.

Influence of Distributive Injustice and Relation Conflict on Knowledge Hoarding: Role of Sensitivity to Incentive and Task Interdependence (분배 불공정성과 관계 갈등이 지식축적에 미치는 영향: 인센티브 민감성 및 업무 의존도의 역할)

  • In light of the COVID-19 incident, organizations have recognized the importance of systematically managing knowledge resources to enhance work efficiency and performance within the organization. We have adopted the perspective of knowledge hoarding, which entails the ownership of individual knowledge, and aim to elucidate the underlying mechanisms that contribute to knowledge hoarding by considering the organizational environment, personal characteristics, and task characteristics. To test our hypothesis, we conducted a survey among employees working in companies that have implemented knowledge management policies or systems. We obtained a total of 381 samples, which were analyzed using AMOS 22.0 and Process 3.1 macros. Our findings reveal that distributive injustice leads to conflicts relationships and subsequently increases individual knowledge hoarding. Furthermore, we found that sensitivity to incentive interacts with distributive injustice, further exacerbating knowledge hoarding. Conversely, task interdependence mitigates knowledge hoarding by interacting with distributive injustice and relation conflict. These results contribute to the development of effective organizational knowledge management strategies aimed at curbing knowledge hoarding within the organization.

  • The purpose of this research is to verify the impact of job stress on turn over intention among the married workers in small and medium sized enterprises in South Korea, as well as to examine mediation effect of work-family conflict between the two variables. For this research, 135 workers were selected through a web-based survey from February to March, 2015. As results, job stress was statistically influential on turnover intention and work-family conflict. Work-family conflict implied the partial mediation effect of turnover intention, with both direct and indirect impacts on depression. The findings suggest that preventive programs against job stress and work-family conflict, such as Employee Assistance Programs(EAPs), should be launched in order to reduce the problems. Korean government must legislate for family-friendly work environment to help company could activate the assistance programs for the employees who suffer from the work-family conflicts.

The impact of recognition of spouse's conflict-coping behavior on self-esteem and depression (자신이 인지한 배우자의 갈등대처행동이 자존감과 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was a descriptive survey to examine the impact of spouse's conflict-coping behavior on self-esteem and depression among couples married within 5 years, in order to provide data for education and intervention program of improving their relationships for early marriage couples. Participants were 176 persons who were family members or neighborhood of S college students in Seoul and they were asked to complete questionnaires. Findings showed that there were differences in conflict-coping behavior of withdrawal type according to sex while differences in conflict-coping behavior of physical type and withdrawal type and depression according to age. Differences were found in conflict-coping behavior of language type and depression according to occupation. There were significant differences in self-esteem and depression according to couples' conversation time. Perceived their spouses cope with the conflict in the relationship between behavior and depression, self-esteem appeared to represent an indirect effect.

How Did the Press Report the Conflict Between Korea and Japan? : Focusing on Framing and Signifying Strategies (언론은 한일 갈등을 어떻게 보도했는가 : 프레임 유형과 의미화 방식을 중심으로)

  • This study critically reviewed whether the South Korean press reported the issue of conflict between South Korea and Japan in a way consistent with their journalistic values. To this end, this study conducted frame analysis and textual analysis for the articles of three press(Chosun Ilbo, Hankyoreh and KBS) from the three major branches of conflict (Korea's Supreme Court's ruling on forced labor compensation in October 2018, the Japanese government's decision to regulate exports in July 2019 and the Korean government's decision to end GSOMIA in August 2019) to one week. There were many superficial reports of simply relaying conflicts around the occurrence and outcome of events, and there were few reports that analyzed the context in depth or suggested alternatives. And partisan reporting, which is cited as a key issue in the Korean journalism, has been strongly revealed in the midst of a conflict between Korea and Japan, a national emergency situation.
