  • Commerce information high schools offer diverse computer related courses, and a number of different textbooks were published for each course. Since each corse covers broad area, the textbook has difficulties in keeping up with the rapid change. It is even more difficult to find textbooks that suit the needs and requirements of a school. Very frequently, chapters on application software cover software packages that are different from what school has in terms of producer or version. This kind of difficulties can be overcome by subdividing textbooks into lessons, and selecting lessons and textbooks for them that are most appropriate for each school. This paper proposes a way to subdivide computer textbooks into lessons, and discusses the advantages that come from it.

  • This study analyzed the problems of skin beauty textbooks used in high school based on the NCS ability unit, and was to improve them. By the NCS standard, it focuses on the contents which can be learned during the high school course. The main results are as follows. First, the revision of textbooks is to contain NCS competency unit, which is excluded in spite of being taught. Second, Replacement is required for NCS 5 level beyond the high school. Third, the illustrated and photographic materials is revised to improve the understanding by maintaining consistency and visibility. Fourth, the contents on the practical skill need specific explanations and instructional materials. Fifth, to revise terminology and the notation system is needed in skin care. The results of this study can be used as basic data to develop an NCS learning module in the skin care field and high school textbooks.

  • The purpose of this research is to compare high school mathematics textbooks published by India with those published by Korea so that we apply merits of India's high school mathematics education to our educational problems. We first study India's educational systems, and analyze the mathematics textbooks from both countries by considering their external appearance, units, contents. Finally we give meaningful results and propose what we can do for our mathematics education based on our analysis performed in this paper.

  • In this paper, we first analysis definition of continuity of functions in high school textbooks, the mathematics high school curriculum and university mathematics textbooks. We surveyed what was causing the students to struggle in their concept image of continuity of functions. We arrived at that students' concept for errors in images of continuity of function were caused by definition of continuity of functions in high school textbooks.

  • In this study, we analyzed differences of explanation on gas pressure and atmospheric pressure in elementary and secondary school science textbooks and general chemistry and general earth science textbooks based on three types of explanation criteria: first, explanation of mass; second, explanation of air pressure on unit area; third. explanation of molecular motion. The results were as follows. Elementary science textbook belonged to the first type. All of the secondary school chemistry textbooks belonged to the third type. But most of the general chemistry textbooks belonged to the first and second type. Most of the earth science textbooks for secondary school and most of the general earth science textbooks belonged to the first type. Therefore, the differences of explanation could disturb students' understanding on gas pressure and atmospheric pressure.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the contents of sulfuric acid in Science textbooks and Chemistry II textbooks, and to survey 10 pre-service teachers' perceptions who majored chemistry education related to sulfuric acid. As results, most of the Science textbooks represented that sulfuric acid was divided into two $H^+$ and one $SO_4{^{2-}}$. But this mistake might be corrected because sulfuric acid was divided into one $H^+$and one $HSO_4{^-}$. Most of Chemistry II textbooks represented ionization steps of sulfuric acid, but same mistake was represented in some of Chemistry II textbooks. $HSO_4{^-}$ is a weak acid, but some Chemistry II textbooks represented $HSO_4{^-}$ as a strong acid. As results of the survey related to pre-service teachers' perceptions, some pre-service teachers didn't know the situation of particles in sulfuric acid solution, and they were affected on by the learning of high school classrooms.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between major subjects of industrial circle high school and mathematics matched with present 2007 revision curriculum. We compare and analyze learning contents in industrial circle's math education via various aspects including methods of explanations, contents domains, and contents levels. The analysis followed by the research study performed with literature study of curriculums and text books. Our research indicates that school curriculum should be reflected relation between industrial high school's each major course and mathematics, so each major course curriculum should be different. Many contents beyond high school mathematics were founded. Hence suitable mathematical maturity and levels within standard high school math curriculum should be considered when one make text books of major course in industrial circle high school.

  • Fossil photographs in science and earth science textbooks on the 7th curriculum including those of elementary, middle and high school, are analyzed to estimate the adequacy and scientific significance focusing on the locality and scale. The results show that most of the textbooks have included various types of fossil photographs: 32 in elementary textbooks, 50 in middle school and 109 in high school. However, the presentation of scientific information on each photographs is insufficient. Only $68\%$ of the elementary textbooks designates locality and only $6\%$ includes scales. Among middle and high school textbooks, 40 and $16\%$ of photographs describe locality, and 14 and $18\%$ of photographs exhibit scale, respectively. More scientific and appropriate presentation of fossil photographs, such as locality and scale, is needed to enhance educational effect.
