The purpose of this study was to develop a miniature imaging gamma probe with high performance that can detect small or residual tumors after surgery. Gamma probe detector system consists of NaI(Tl) scintillator, position sensitive photomultiplier tube (PSPMT), and collimator. PSPMT was optically coupled with 6.5 mm thick, 7.62 cm diameter of NaI(Tl) crystal and supplied with -1000V for high voltage. Parallel hexagonal hole collimator was manufactured for characteristics of 40-mm hole length, 1.3-mm hole diameter, and 0.22 mm septal thickness. Electronics consist of position and trigger signal readout systems. Position signals were obtained with summing, subtracting, and dividing circuit using preamplifer and amplifier. Trigger signals were obtained using summing amplifier, constant fraction discriminator, and gate and delay generator module with preamplifer. Data acquisition and processing were performed by Gamma-PF interface board inserted into pentium PC and PIP software. For imaging studies, flood and slit mask images were acquired using a point source. Two hole phantom images were also acquired with collimator. Intrinsic and system spatial resolutions were measured as 3.97 mm and 5.97 mm, respectively. In conclusion, Miniature gamma probe images based on the PSPMT showed good image quality, we conclude that the miniature imaging gamma probe was successfully developed and good image data were obtained. However, further studies will be required to optimize imaging characteristics.
Purpose: We investigated reproducibility of the quantification of left ventricular volume and ejection fraction, and grading of myocardial wall motion and systolic thickening when we used gated myocardial SPECT and Cedars quantification software. Materials and Methods: We performed gated myocardial SPECT in 33 consecutive patients twice in the same position after Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT We used 16 frames per cycle for the gating of sequential Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT. After reconstruction, we used Cedars quantitative gated SPECT and calculated ventricular volume and ejection fraction (EF). Wall motion was graded using 5 point score. Wall thickening was graded using 4 point score. Coefficient of variation for re-examination of volume and fraction were calculated. Kappa values (k-value) for assessing reproducibility of wall motion or wall thickening were calculated. Results: Enddiastolic volumes (EDV) ranged from 58 ml to 248 ml (122 ml +/- 42 ml), endsystolic volumes (ESV) from 20 ml to 174 ml (65 ml +/- 39 ml), and EF from 20% to 65% (51% +/- 14%). Geometric mean of standard deviations of 33 patients was 5.0 ml for EDV, 3.9 ml for ESV and 1.9% for EF. Their average differences were not different from zero (p>0.05). k-value for wall motion using 2 consecutive images was 0.76 (confidence interval: 0.71-0.81). k-value was 0.87 (confidence interval: 0.83-0.90) for assessment of wall thickening. Conclusion: We concluded that quantification of functional indices, assessment of wall motion and wall thickening using gated Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT was reproducible and we could use this method for the evaluation of short-acting drug effect.

In this paper, we propose a system in a large-scale environment, such as desert and ocean, that can reduce the overall transmission power consumption in mobile sensor network. It is known that the transmission power consumption in wireless sensor network is proportional to the square of transmission distance. Therefore, if the locations of mobile sensors are far from the sink node, the power consumption required for data transmission increases, leading to shortened operating time of the sensors. Hence, in this paper, we propose a system that can reduce the power consumption by allowing to transmit data only if the transmission range of the sensors is within a predetermined distance. Moreover, the energy efficiency of the overall sensor network can even be improved by reducing the number of data transmissions at the sink node to gateway based on compressed sensing. The proposed system is actually implemented using Arduino and Raspberry Pi and it is confirmed that source data can be approximately decoded even when the gateway received encoded data fewer than the required number of data from the sink node. The performance of the proposed system is analyzed in theory.
In this paper we are trying to explain the effect of temperature on polymer membrane exchange water electrolysis (PEMWE) and polymer membrane exchange fuel cell (PEMFC) simultaneously. A comprehensive studying approach is proposed and applied to a 50Watt PEM fuel cell system in the laboratory. The monitoring process is carried out through wireless LoRa node and gateway network concept. In this experiment, temperature sensor measure the temperature level of electrolyzer, fuel cell stack and $H_2$ storage tank and transmitted the measured value of data to the management control unit (MCU) through the individual node and gateway of each PEMWE and PEMFC. In MCU we can monitor the temperature and its effect on the performance of the fuel cell system and control it to keep the lower heating value to increase the efficiency of the fuel cell system. And we also proposed a mathematical model and operation algorithm for PEMWE and PEMFC. In this model, PEMWE gives higher efficiency at lower heating level where as PEMFC gives higher efficiency at higher heating value. In order to increase the performance of the fuel cell system, we are going to monitor, communicate and control the temperature and pressure of PEMWE and PEMFC by installing these systems in a building of university which is located in the southern part of Korea.
Asymmetric networks that the downlink bandwidth is larger than the uplink bandwidth may cause the degradation of the TCP performance due to the uplink congestion. In order to solve this problem, this paper designs and implements the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism which offers a suitable segment size for current networks. The proposed mechanism does not require any changes in customer premises but suppress the number of ACKs using segment reassembly technique to avoid the uplink congestion. The gateway which adapted the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism, detects the uplink congestion condition and dynamically measures the bandwidth asymmetric ratio and the packet loss ratio. The gateway reassembles some of segments received from the server into a large segment and transmits it to the client. This reduces the number of corresponding ACKs. In this mechanism, the SACK option is used when occurs the bit error during the transmission. Based on the simulation in the GEO satellite network environment, we analyzed the performance of the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism.
This study suggested a technique to maintain an efficient core-based multicast tree using weighted clustering factors in mobile Ad-hoc networks. The biggest problem with the core-based multicast tree routing is to decide the position of core node. The distance of data transmission varies depending on the position of core node. The overhead's effect on the entire network is great according to the recomposition of the multicast tree due to the movement of core node, clustering is used. A core node from cluster head nodes on the multicast tree within core area whose weighted factor is the least is chosen as the head core node. Way that compose multicast tree by weighted clustering factors thus and propose keeping could know that transmission distance and control overhead according to position andmobility of core node improve than existent multicast way, and when select core node, mobility is less, and is near in center of network multicast tree could verification by simulation stabilizing that transmission distance is short.

Recent outbreak of cattle diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease(FMD) requires constant monitoring of burial sites of mass cull of cattles. However, current monitoring system takes environmental samples from burial sites with period of between one and two weeks, which makes it impossible for non-stop management of hazardous bio-waste. Therefore, in this study, we suggest an improved real-time environmental monitoring system for such bio-hazardous sites based on wireless sensor networks, which makes constant surveillance of the FMD burial sites possible. The system consists mainly several wireless environmental monitoring sensors(i.e dust, Co2, VOC, NH3, H2S, temperature, humidity) nodes and GPS location tracking nodes. Through analysis of the relayed of the environmental monitoring data via gateway, the system makes it possible for constant monitoring and quick response for emergency situation of the burial sites. In order to test the effectiveness of the system, we have installed a set of sensor to gas outlets of the burial sites, then collected and analyzed measured bio-sensing data. We have conducted simulated emergency test runs and was able to detect and monitor the foul smell constantly. With our study, we confirm that the preventive measures and quick response of bio environmental accident are possible with the help of a real-time environmental monitoring system.

EAS (electronic article surveillance) systems have increased rapidly for article surveillance. In this paper, the strength of the EMF (electromagnetic fields) of EAS systems were measured. Pacemaker and ICD were investigated for inappropriate response resulting from EM (electromagnetic) EAS systems. The strength of EMF and the response of pacemaker and ICD were measured in the inner left side, outer right sides and the center of gates of the 6.3 kHz and 14.25 kHz EAS systems at a height of 130cm. As the result, EMF of the EAS system using 14.25 kHz was stronger than that of 6.3 kHz. AU interferences were observed only for 14.25 kHz, and the noisy ECG was found in three static positions on the pacemaker. The ICD resulted in noise reversion and VF (ventricular fibrillation) both static and moving positions by the EMP of 14.25 kHz EAS system. Therefore, it is necessary to post a message warning radiation of EMF from every EAS systems and possible risk of pacemakers and ICDs.

Recently, owing to the development of ubiquitous sensor network and mobile communication technologies, many studies on healthcare system are being carried out. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a mobile u-Healthcare system based on sensor network. The u-Healthcare system is composed of three components: wireless sensor network at home, healthcare center located at remote site, and gateway which relays sensing physiological signals to healthcare center. In order to measure patient's physiological signal three sensors are used: three channel ECG sensor, pulse oximeter, and blood pressure sensor. Each sensor is mounted on a mote which can send gathered signal to the base node using Zigbee communication protocol. Once the base node receives physiological signal from each sensor, the client in the base node transfers the signal to the healthcare center. The received physiological signal at the healthcare center is analyzed and processed using various algorithms. The processed results are compared to the standard healthcare database and appropriate treatment including dietetics and exercise cure would be sent to the patient as feedback using SMS message or healthcare center web site. Each patient can check and manage one's health state every day using the healthcare system and gain a recovery under the treatments from minor health problems.

This paper proposes a high-speed FFT processor for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM) systems. The Proposed architecture uses a single-memory architecture and uses a radix-4 algorithm for high speed. The proposed memory is partitioned into four banks for high-speed computation. It uses an in-place memory strategy that stores butterfly outputs in the same memory location used by butterfly inputs. Therefore, the memory size can be reduced. The SQNR of about 80dB is achieved with 20-bit input and 20-bit twiddle factors. The architecture has been modeled by VHDL and logic synthesis has been performed using the SamsungTM 0.5㎛ SOG cell library (KG80). The implemented FFT processor consists of 98,326 gates excluding memory. It has smaller hardware than existing pipeline FFT processors for more than 1024-point FFTs. The processor can operate at 42MHz and calculate a 256-point complex FFT in 6us. It satisfies tile required processing speed of 8.4㎲ in the HomePlug standard.
