This study investigated seasonal occurrence and daily flight activity using synthetic sex pherom mone and injury characteristics of 야et armyworm, Spodoptera exigua in Chonnam area of K Korea in 1990. Male adults were attracted to phermone trap from mid-June to late November w with the peaks at mid-late August, mid-late September and early-mid November in vinyl i house and also were attracted from mid October to late November in field. Primary peak of occurrence in vinyl house was 20 days sooner than field. It seems to have 6 generations a year in C Chonnam region based on the estimation of larval biomass. Daily male flight was active from m midnight to before sunrise with the peak at 4-6 A.M .. In injury characteristics at various host plants, damage was great in early growing stage at below 10 cm of plant height in Allium fistulsum. Chrysanthemum morifolium was damaged at mostly upper part of leaves reaching to m the extent up to 70%. In case of Gypsophila paniculata, plants injured at early growing stage do n not grow and flower normally.
The purpose of this study was to identify the persistent and dynamic association between bullying and victimization. Gender differences in patterns of school bullying was hypothesized based on the literature. Analysis were based on waves 3-6 of the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey, a nationally representative data of primary and secondary school students in South Korea (N = 1,881). Autoregressive cross-lagged model was employed to identify the reciprocal association between bullying and victimization in longitudinal data. As hypothesized, regardless of gender, lagged effects were statistically significant between each time points such that current bullying caused future bullying and current victimization led to future victimization. However, there was no cross-lagged effects of current victimization on future bullying nor current perpetration on future victimization for both male and female youth. Findings from this study may have implications for designing policies against school bulling. Not only is short-term intervention for handling immediate psycho-social maladjustment important, but so are long-term plans that prevent youth from falling into continued perpetration and victimization in the system of school bullying.
This study was designed to test whether middle school students have moderating effect of empathy ability on group bullying behavior. The subjects were 488 middle school students in Busan area, The mean difference test and regression analysis were performed using the SPSS 20 program and the related variables were standardized to show the characteristics of the control effect. The results of this study are as follows: First, as the experiences of the perpetrator and the experience of the autonomous group, the group bullying behaviors were higher, and it was confirmed that the perpetrators were important variables for predicting the bullying behaviors. As a predictor of bullying behavior, it was identified as an important variable. Second, empathy ability has a moderating effect of alleviating the relationship between perpetrator's harmony and bullying behavior, and the relationship between onlooker and bullying behavior. Third, according to gender analysis, male students were more exposed to bullying behaviors than female students. Through these discussions, practical suggestions for social welfare, academic suggestions, and suggestions for follow-up studies were made.
The purpose of this study is to classify the subtypes of perpetrators of school violence based on their psychological characteristics. In order to classify the students, questionnaires/interviews which consist of 6 factors (Cognitive Impulsivity, Unplanned Impulsivity, Depression, Anxiety, Peer Conformity, and Self assertion) and 19 questions were administered to 86 perpetrators of school violence. Then, a two-step cluster analysis was performed with the survey results of 74 perpetrators. As a result, three clusters were identified and named as follows: 1) Impulsive Vulnerability, 2) Emotional Vulnerability, and 3) Social Vulnerability. Scrutinizing the detailed characteristics of each cluster, the first cluster, Impulsive Vulnerability, showed higher scores on Cognitive Impulsivity and Unplanned Impulsivity, compared to the other two clusters, while Depression and Anxiety scores were lower. The second cluster, Emotional Vulnerability, showed higher scores on Depression and Anxiety, while Cognitive Impulsivity and Unplanned Impulsivity scores were lower. The third cluster, Social Vulnerability, showed the highest score on Peer Conformity among the three clusters. However, Self assertion scores were the lowest in this cluster, and Cognitive Impulsivity, Unplanned Impulsivity, depression, and anxiety scores were lower than in the others. This study will provide a useful insight for facilitating teachers and parents' understanding of the psychological characteristics of school violence perpetrators and thereby contributing to effective intervention.
When observing the subjects and seriousness of Korea's Wang-ta, it is urgent that we know the characteristics of Wang-ta and its conditions. In this study, we investigated the definition of Wang-ta, which partly differs from bullying. Also, the phenomenal characteristics of collectivism, the victimization of an individual once stigmatized in the Wang-ta process, the generalization of the Wang-ta process where bullies extend their territory into general students were examined. Moreover, external environment such as Korea's school environment, negative house environment, and collective culture were examined. The three general structures in researching Korea's Wang-ta were presented. The first structure consists of a bully, victim, and a bully-victim. The second structure focuses on the certain groups, which consists of followers, outsider, and the defender. The last structure deals with the psychological characteristics of the participant roles, which are the bully, reinforcer, assistant, defender, victim, and outsider. Wang-ta prevention programs, which reflects the characteristics of Wang-ta, are presented. Implications on future Wang-ta prevention programs are discussed.

Bullying has recently become a serious social problem in Korean society. Bullying, which is defined as a phenomenon that one particular student is intensively and continuously harassed or ostracized by a group of students, is apt to produce harmful effects on bullies as well as victims. Bullying has many causes including those originated from the personality of victims and bullies. This study is designed to investigate the difference in personality trait between victims, bullies, victims/bullies, and neither. The subjects of this study were 215(115 male and 100 female) 6th-grade students in the primary school in Seoul. Questionnares were distributed to the students and their carers. The student carers were also asked to answer the questions for a survey called the Korean Personality Invertory for Children(KPI-C). SPSS was used for the statistical analysis of the collected test information;ANOVA, post hoc scheffe test, and T-test were used to analyze the differences between the tested groups. The result of the study is as follows. 1) The victims, bullies, victims/bullies and neither totaled respectively 11(5.1%), 56(26.0%), 11(5.1%) and 137(63.7%). 115 were male and 100 were female. 2) The frequency of victimized is as follows:1 time is 15(7.0%), 2 times is 4(1.9%) and more than 3 times is 3(1.4%). The frequency of bullying is as follows;1 time is 40(18.6%), 2 times is 17 (7.9%) and more than 3 times is 10(4.7%). 3) The differences between froups in KPI-C test is as follows. (1) The ESR(p=.00) scale was significantly lower in the victims group than in the neither group and the HPR(p=.00) scale and PSY(p<.01) scale were significantly higher in the former than in the latter. (2) The ESR(p=.00) scale was significantly lower in the victims/bullies group than in the neither group and the SOM(p=.00) scale and HPR(p=.00) scale were significantly higher in the formaer than in the latter. (3) The SOC(p=.00) scale, PSY(p<.01) scale and AUT(p=.00) scale were significantly higher in the victims group than in the bullies group. (4) There is statistically no difference between the bullies group and the neither group. To conclusion, Victims need to learn how to cope with harsh situations, or they will have to face difficulties in relationships. Even after they experience bullying, they may not realize why they have been bullied, or speak out for themselves.
This study was carried out to investigate insect specles of Kiwi fruit, and ecological characteristicsof Stathmopoda m Chonnam province from 1991 to 1993 Twelve families and thirteen specieswere identified during the study. Sfothmopoda aurijerello and mulberp scale were key insect pestsamong them. The body sizes of each stage of S. a~irijereilo was measured and found to be 0.12 mmfor egg, 9.8 mm for mature lawa. 5.9 mm for pupae and 123mm for adult with opened wings.S, ouriferelia appers to have two generations a yea Adults occut~ed from late May to midJulyand mid-August to early September Mth two peaks m early to midJune and late August. The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of functional and dysfunctional expressions of anger on the relationship between covert narcissism and dating violence among college students. The study also investigated gender differences with regard to covert narcissism, dating violence, and functional and dysfunctional expressions of anger. To this end, 339 college students (133 males, 206 females) with heterosexual dating experiences in the Busan Metropolitan area were recruited. They responded to the Covert Narcissism Scale, the Revised Conflict Tactics Scale 2, and the Korean adaptation of the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory. The results were as follows. First, covert narcissism, dating violence, and functional and dysfunctional expressions of anger differed significantly by gender. Second, there were statistically significant correlations between covert narcissism, dating violence, and functional and dysfunctional expressions of anger. Third, multiple regression analysis showed that dysfunctional expressions of anger for males were positively correlated with dating violence while functional expressions of anger were negatively correlated. For females, dysfunctional expressions of anger were positively correlated with dating violence while functional expressions of anger were not significantly correlated. Fourth, dysfunctional expressions of anger completely mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and dating violence for both males and females, but functional expressions of anger had no mediating effect. These results suggest that dysfunctional anger expression control program should be developed for students which may help those with covert narcissistic tendencies to functionally express their anger. Future research should analyze dating violence prevention and counseling programs.
