  • Crowd behavioral scenes in virtual underwater world are presented in many entertainments such as films and games. According to the increase of digital films and animations caused by the development of computer graphics, it is easy for us to meet with the cyber characters in those scenes. Characters which appear in computer animation put life into virtual world. The more characters we have in this virtual space, the deeper we are immersed in the space. There were many researches which processed the crowd scene and implemented the crowd behavior system in Korea. They were related to developing VR contents which were available to feel actually in the construction of the virtual environment. But they are far from reaching the step to put to practical use in developing the crowd behavior modeler. Therefore, we suggestion the fish schooling behavior modeler that provides interaction and action behavior in 3D object to present vividly and effectively in underwater world.

  • In this paper, we implemented cyber character that can do speech recognition, speech synthesis, Motion tracking and 3D animation. For speech recognition, we used Discrete-HMM algorithm with K-means 128 level vector quantization and MFCC feature vector. For speech synthesis, we used demi-syllables TD-PSOLA algorithm. For PC based Motion tracking, we present Fast Optical Flow like Method. And for animating 3D model, we used vertex interpolation with DirectSD retained mode. Finally, we implemented cyber character integrated above systems, which game calculating by the multiplication table with user and the cyber character always look at user using of Motion tracking system.

  • As the focus of game market moves to mobile era, payment on cyber money, specifically for Gacha system, possesses a large portion for creating profit in game industry. For this reason, this study mainly focuses on Puzzle and Dragon, the mobile game of Gungho online entertainment in Japan, which has made enormous profit for several years. The analysis on consumer sentiment for Gacha are categorized as below: (1) gambling mentality and cognitive error in stochastic game in God festival (2) reactional psychology for scarcity message in limited time God festival and collaboration (3) personal satisfaction through friend system and character collection.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze representation of characters of AOS online-game in order to find out the meanings of ontological game characters. This study selects characters of on-line game to analyze representations of game characters by Pierre L$\acute{e}$vy's ontological theory. The characters which represented in on-line games reproduced by costume play in off-line world reflect human desire and construct human existence. Online game character is an existing substance, which could expand human experiences by crossing virtual game world and reality in digital era.

  • This presents an English conversation training system with which learners train their conversation skills in English, which makes them converse with native speaker characters in a virtual reality environment with voice. The proposed system allows the learners to talk with multiple native speaker characters in varous scenarios in the virtual reality environment. It recongizes voices spoken by the learners and generates voices by a speech synthesis method. The interaction with characters in the virtual reality environment in voice makes the learners immerged in the conversation situations. The scoring system which evaluates the learner's pronunciation provides the positive feedback for the learners to get engaged in the learning context.

  • This paper presents a new method to represent the secondary deformation effect using simple mass-spring simulation on the vertex shader of the GPU. For each skin vertex of a 3D character, a zero-length spring is connected to a virtual vertex that is to be rendered. When a skin vertex changes its position and velocity according to the character motion, the position of the corresponding virtual vertex is computed by mass-spring simulation in parallel on the GPU. The proposed method represents the secondary deformation effect very fast that shows the material property of a character skin during the animation. Applying the proposed technique dynamically can represent squash-and-stretch and follow-through effects which have been frequently shown in the traditional 2D animation, within a very small amount of additional computation. The proposed method is applicable to represent elastic skin deformation of a virtual character in an interactive animation environment such as games.

  • Virtual Reality contents are being used as media in various fields. In order for the virtual reality contents to be realistic, the scale of the objects in the virtual reality must be the same as the actual size, and the user must feel the same size. However, even if the size of the character in the virtual reality space is made equal to the size in comparison with the size of the character in the reality, the distortion of the size can occur when the user looks at the object in the image with the HMD. In this paper, I investigate the requirements related to size in virtual reality, and try to find out what difference these requirements have in virtual reality and how the difference affects users. Experiments and surveys to compare the size of objects in virtual reality space and the size of objects in real space were conducted to investigate how scale distortion occurs at distant and near places. I hope that this paper will be a useful research for virtual reality developers.
