  • Recently, q-Dedekind-type sums related to q-Euler polynomials was studied by Kim in [T. Kim, Note on q-Dedekind-type sums related to q-Euler polynomials, Glasgow Math. J. 54 (2012), 121-125]. It is aim of this paper to consider a p-adic continuous function for an odd prime to inside a p-adic q-analogue of the higher order Dedekind-type sums with weight related to modified q-Euler polynomials with weight by using Kim's p-adic q-integral.

  • We consider the third order linear homogeneous differential equation L$_3$(y) = y(equation omitted) + P($\chi$)y' + Q($\chi$)y = 0 (E) P($\chi$) $\geq$ 0, Q($\chi$) > 0 and P($\chi$)/Q($\chi$) is nondecreasing on [${\alpha}$, $\infty$) for some real number ${\alpha}$. (1) In this paper we discuss the distribution of zeros of solutions and a condition of oscillatory for equation (E).(omitted)

  • Recently many people have studied the Sobolev orthogonal polynomials, that is, polynomials which are orthogonal relative to a symmetric bilinear form $\phi(\cdot,\cdot)$ defined by $$ (1.1) $\phi(p,q) := (p,q)_N = \sum_{k=0}^{N} \int_{R}p^(k) (x)q^(k) (x) d\mu_k, $$ where each $d\mu_k$ is a signed Borel measure on the real line $R$ with finite moments of all orders. For the brief history on this subject, we refer to the survey article Ronveaux [13] and Marcellan and et al [10].

  • The parity of cyclotomic numbers of order 2, 4 and 6 associated with 4-cyclotomic cosets modulo an odd prime p are obtained. Hence the explicit expressions of primitive idempotents of minimal cyclic codes of length $p^n$, $n{\geq}1$ over the quaternary field $F_4$ are obtained. These codes are observed to be subcodes of Q codes of length $p^n$. Some orthogonal properties of these subcodes are discussed. The minimal cyclic codes of length 17 and 43 are also discussed and it is observed that the minimal cyclic codes of length 17 are two weight codes. Further, it is shown that a Q code of prime length is always cyclotomic like a binary duadic code and it seems that there are infinitely many prime lengths for which cyclotomic Q codes of order 6 exist.

  • In this paper, we investigate the transcendental meromorphic solutions with finite order of two different types of difference equations $${\sum\limits_{j=1}^{n}}a_jf(z+c_j)={\frac{P(z,f)}{Q(z,f)}}={\frac{{\sum_{k=0}^{p}}b_kf^k}{{\sum_{l=0}^{q}}d_lf^l}}$$ and $${\prod\limits_{j=1}^{n}}f(z+c_j)={\frac{P(z,f)}{Q(z,f)}={\frac{{\sum_{k=0}^{p}}b_kf^k}{{\sum_{l=0}^{q}}d_lf^l}}$$ that share three distinct values with another meromorphic function. Here $a_j$, $b_k$, $d_l$ are small functions of f and $a_j{\not{\equiv}}(j=1,2,{\ldots},n)$, $b_p{\not{\equiv}}0$, $d_q{\not{\equiv}}0$. $c_j{\neq}0$ are pairwise distinct constants. p, q, n are non-negative integers. P(z, f) and Q(z, f) are two mutually prime polynomials in f.

  • In 2003, Marques-Smith and Sullivan described the join ${\Omega}$ of the 'natural order' $\leq$ and the 'containment order' $\subseteq$ on P(X), the semigroup under composition of all partial transformations of a set X. And, in 2004, Pinto and Sullivan described all automorphisms of PS(q), the partial Baer-Levi semigroup consisting of all injective ${\alpha}{\in}P(X)$ such that ${\mid}X{\backslash}X{\alpha}\mid=q$, where $N_0{\leq}q{\leq}{\mid}X{\mid}$. In this paper, we describe the group of automorphisms of R(q), the largest regular subsemigroup of PS(q). In 2010, we studied some properties of $\leq$ and $\subseteq$ on PS(q). Here, we characterize the meet and join under those orders for elements of R(q) and PS(q). In addition, since $\leq$ does not equal ${\Omega}$ on I(X), the symmetric inverse semigroup on X, we formulate an algebraic version of ${\Omega}$ on arbitrary inverse semigroups and discuss some of its properties in an algebraic setting.

  • In this paper, we show that under certain conditions the Wedderburn decomposition of a finite semisimple group algebra 𝔽qG can be deduced from a subalgebra 𝔽q(G/H) of factor group G/H of G, where H is a normal subgroup of G of prime order P. Here, we assume that q = pr for some prime p and the center of each Wedderburn component of 𝔽qG is the coefficient field 𝔽q.
