Design of $H_{\infty}$ Controller with Different Weighting Functions Using Convex Combination

  • In this paper, a combination problem of controllers which are the same type of $H_{\infty}$ controllers designed with different weighting functions. This approach can remove the difficulty in the selection of the weighting functions. As a sub-controller, the Youla type of $H_{\infty}$ controller is used. In the $H_{\infty}$ controller, Youla parameterization is used to minimize $H_{\infty}$ norm of mixed sensitivity function by using polynomial approach. Computer simulation results show the robustness improvement and the performance improvement.

  • A mixed H$^{2}$/$H^{\infty}$ controller design method for linear systems with time delay in all variables and parameter uncertainties in all system matrices is proposed. Robust $H^{\infty}$ performance and H$^{2}$ performance condition that accounts for model-matching of closed loop system and disturbance rejection is also derived. With expressing uncertain system with linear fractional transformation form, we transform the robust stability and performance problem to the H$^{2}$/$H^{\infty}$ optimization problem and design a mixed H$^{2}$/$H^{\infty}$ controller. Using the proposed method, mixed H$^{2}$/$H^{\infty}$ controller for underwater vehicle with time delay and parameter variations are designed. Simulations of a design example with hydrodynamic parameter variations and disturbance are presented to demonstrate the achievement of good robust performance.t performance.ance.

  • $H_{\infty}$ Controller of seeker scan-loop is designed using LSDP proposed by McFarlane. The performance and robustness of $H_{\infty}$ controller are analyzed using robustness theorems by Lehtomaki and compared with those of the LQG/LTR controller. Especially, structured singular value .mu. -test of Doyle is used to evaluate robust performance of seeker scan-loop. It is demonstated that seeker scan-loop by $H_{\infty}$ controller is very robust to model uncertainties described by additive and multiplicative perturbations.

  • In this paper, a state space solution to the discete time H$_{\infty}$ control problem is presented. It is shown that there exist LQ game problem corresponding to H$_{\infty}$ control problems and the H$_{\infty}$ controller can be obtained by solving the LQ game problem.   • $H_{\infty}$ control has been applied to the design of practical control systems widely because of its robustness. It can minimize $H_{\infty}$ norm of the transfer function between the desired output and the disturbances. The SMC(Sliding Mode Control) is more robust and give the better performance than the $H_{\infty}$ control if the matching condition is satisfied. A controller which can have the advantages of $H_{\infty}$ control and the SMC is proposed to add the robustness of the SMC to the $H_{\infty}$ controller. Its design is based on the augmented system of which dynamics have one higher order than that of the original system and has the same dynamic as the desired system in spite of uncertainties. The dynamic of proposed sliding surface is the same dynamic as the system controlled by $H_{\infty}$ controller without the uncertainties which satisfy the matching condition.

  • The $H_{2}$/$H_{\infty}$ robust controller is designed by using polynomial approach. This controller can minimise a $H_{2}$ norm of error under the fixed bound of $H_{\infty}$ norm of mixed sensitivity function by employing the Youla parameterization and using polynomial approach at the same time. It is easy to apply this controller to adaptive system.

  • This paper presents the Mixed H2/H$\infty$ controller design method with the regional pole placements for underwater vehicle. Since the small and light underwater vehicle is sensitive to disturbances and parameter uncertainties, we design the controller which guarantees robustness against time-delays, parameter uncertainties and disturbances. The LMI(linear matrix inequality) formulations for pole placements in specific regions and H2 and H$\infty$ performances are reviewed. The desired controller can be obtained by solving these LMIs.

  • In this paper we design $H_{\infty}$ infinity controller for Induction motor with low speed operation. $H_{\infty}$ controller is applied in order to design a state feedback static controller for field oriented control of an induction motor. $H_{\infty}$ controller are linear plant can be set up using the same assumptions that are at the basis of field oriented control. Thus, $H_{\infty}$ control theory can be successfully used to set up a state feedback controller for field oriented control of an induction motor. The performances of the $H_{\infty}$ controller is numerically analysed and experimentally verified to prove the validity of the design procedure. In this paper show that performances with high robustness to variations of system parameter.

  • Computed torque method has been used for precise trajectory control of the robotic system that involves nonlinear dynamics. It is hard to know exact values of robot system parameters, and the robot arm receives umpredictable interference from the working environment. These disturbances, especially in a direct drive robot, are directly transmitted to actuating motor without reduction. Modelling error and distrubance can cause significant errors in a trajectory tracking problem. In this paper, we propose a new controller that $H_{\infty}$controller is conbined to robot system linearized by computed torque. Simula- tions are made for comparing the performance of the proposed controller with that of a nonlinear $H_{\infty}$ controller proposed by Chen and also computed torque method.hod.

  • It is a standard problem that designs a controller to minimize the $H_{\infty}$-norm of a given plant. By reducing a standard problem to a model-matching problem, we can obtain all the parameters which consist of a controller. After presenting a practical model and applying it to a tracking model, we design an $H_{\infty}$ controller and an LQ controller to concrete that $H_{\infty}$ control theory is far more robust than LQ control theory. And we show the advantage of an $H_{\infty}$ controller by obtaining a desired Bode diagram and comparing it with that of an LQ controller.
