QUANTUM MARKOVIAN SEMIGROUPS ON QUANTUM SPIN SYSTEMS: GLAUBER DYNAMICS

  • We study a class of KMS-symmetric quantum Markovian semigroups on a quantum spin system ($\mathcal{A},{\tau},{\omega}$), where $\mathcal{A}$ is a quasi-local algebra, $\tau$ is a strongly continuous one parameter group of *-automorphisms of $\mathcal{A}$ and $\omega$ is a Gibbs state on $\mathcal{A}$. The semigroups can be considered as the extension of semi groups on the nontrivial abelian subalgebra. Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a Hilbert space corresponding to the GNS representation con structed from $\omega$. Using the general construction method of Dirichlet form developed in [8], we construct the symmetric Markovian semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}$. The semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ acts separately on two subspaces $\mathcal{H}_d$ and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ of $\mathcal{H}$, where $\mathcal{H}_d$ is the diagonal subspace and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ is the off-diagonal subspace, $\mathcal{H}=\mathcal{H}_d\;{\bigoplus}\;\mathcal{H}_{od}$. The restriction of the semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}_d$ is Glauber dynamics, and for any ${\eta}{\in}\mathcal{H}_{od}$, $T_t{\eta}$, decays to zero exponentially fast as t approaches to the infinity.

학술지의 피인용횟수 순위를 적용한 tapered h-지수의 변형지표 "Kor-hT"에 관한 연구 (A Study on the "Kor-T", a Modified Tapered h-index, by Applying the Ranking According to the Number of Citations of Journals in Evaluating Korean Journals)

  • 본 연구에서는 '학술지의 피인용횟수 순위'를 적용한 tapered h-지수의 변형지표 Kor-$h_T$를 고안하여 제안하였다. Kor-$h_T$의 의미를 평가하기 위하여 Kor-$h_T$ 지수 값의 중복률 및 지수 값과 평가요소 사이의 연관성 변화를 다른 학술지 평가지표인 h-지수, tapered h-지수 및 IF와 비교 분석하였다. 지수 값의 중복률 분석은 지표의 변별력을 살펴보기 위한 것이며, 지수 값과 평가요소와의 상관관계 분석은 지표의 평가요소인 피인용횟수 및 논문 수가 지수 값에 각각 어떻게 반영되는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 분석을 위해 2008년부터 2010년까지의 한국학술지인용색인(KCI) 3개년 데이터를 사용하였다. 분석 결과 본 연구에서 제안한 Kor-$h_T$가 비교 대상 지표에 비해 지수 값의 중복률이 가장 낮아 높은 변별력을 보였으며, 지수 값과 평가요소와의 상관관계에 있어서도 피인용횟수와 논문 수 모두에서 상관관계가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

A NOTE ON BITRANSFORMATION GROUPS

  • We study some dynamical properties in the context of bitransformation groups, and show that if (H,X,T) is a bitransformation group such that (H,X) is almost periodic and (X/H,T) is pointwise almost periodic $T_2$ and $x{\in}X$, then $E_x=\{q{\in}E(H,X){\mid}qx{\in}{\overline{xT}\}$ is a compact $T_2$ topological group and $E_{qx}=E_x(q{\in}E(H,X))$ when H is abelian, where E(H,X) is the enveloping semigroup of the transformation group (H,X).

  • Let H be an arbitrary complex Hilbert space. We constructed an extension K of H by means of weakly convergent sequences in H and the Banach limit. Let .phi. be the faithful *-representation of L(H) on K. In this note, we investigated the relations between spectra of T in L(H) and .phi.(T) in L(K) and we obtained the following results: 1) If T is a compact operator on H, then .phi.(T) is also a compact operator on K (Proposition 6), 2) .sigma.$_{l}$ (.phi.(T)).contnd..sigma.$_{l}$ (T) for any operator T.mem.L(H) (Corollary 10), 3) For every operator T.mem.L(H), .sigma.$_{ap}$ (.phi.(T))=.sigma.$_{ap}$ (T))=.sigma.$_{ap}$ (T)=.sigma.$_{p}$(.phi.(T)) (Lemma 12, 13) and .sigma.$_{c}$(.phi.(T))=.sigma.(Theorem 15).15).

  • For a map $f:A{\rightarrow}X$, there are concepts of $H^f$-spaces, $T^f$-spaces, which are generalized ones of H-spaces [17,18]. In general, Any H-space is an $H^f$-space, any $H^f$-space is a $T^f$-space. For a principal fibration $E_k{\rightarrow}X$ induced by $k:X{\rightarrow}X^{\prime}$ from ${\epsilon}:PX^{\prime}{\rightarrow}X^{\prime}$, we obtain some sufficient conditions to having liftings $H^{\bar{f}}$-structures and $T^{\bar{f}}$-structures on $E_k$ of $H^f$-structures and $T^f$-structures on X respectively. We can also obtain some results about $H^f$-spaces and $T^f$-spaces in Postnikov systems for spaces, which are generalizations of Kahn's result about H-spaces.

THE NUMBER OF PANCYCLIC ARCS CONTAINED IN A HAMILTONIAN CYCLE OF A TOURNAMENT

  • A tournament T is an orientation of a complete graph and an arc in T is called pancyclic if it is contained in a cycle of length l for all $3{\leq}l{\leq}n$, where n is the cardinality of the vertex set of T. In 1994, Moon [5] introduced the graph parameter h(T) as the maximum number of pancyclic arcs contained in the same Hamiltonian cycle of T and showed that $h(T){\geq}3$ for all strong tournaments with $n{\geq}3$. Havet [4] later conjectured that $h(T){\geq}2k+1$ for all k-strong tournaments and proved the case k = 2. In 2005, Yeo [7] gave the lower bound $h(T){\geq}\frac{k+5}{2}$ for all k-strong tournaments T. In this note, we will improve his bound to $h(T){\geq}\frac{2k+7}{3}$.

  • Let $H$ denote a separable, infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space and let $L(H)$ denote the algebra of all bounded linear operators on $H$. A dual algebra is a subalgebra of $L(H)$ that contains the identity operator $1_H$ and is closed in the $weak^*$ operator topology on $L(H)$. For $T \in L(H)$, let $A_T$ denote the smallest subalgebra of $L(H)$ that contains T and $1_H$ and is closed in the $weak^*$ operator topology.
