  • Effect of Notch Shape and Hardness Ratio on Characteristics of Impact Fracture in Dual Phase Steels. In this study, it is investigated the effect of notch shape and hardness ratio on the characteristics of impact fracture in dual phase steels. The impact test was carried out at the temperature range from -40.deg. C to room temperature with Instrumented Charpy Impact Tester. The main results obtained are as follows; 1, The maximum impact bending strength (.sigma.$_{max}$) increases with the tensile strength. Also, the impact energy depends on .sigma.$_{max}$. 2, In room temperature, the impact energy depends on crack-initiation energy (E$_{i}$) in case of the high hardness ratio (R=3.4), whereas depends on crack-propagation energy (E$_{p}$) in case of the low hardness ratio (R=1.8) and the dependence of crack-initiation energy of the impact characteristics decreases with increasing test temperature. These phenomena are result from the difficulty of cleavage facet formation.ion.ion.

  • To elucidate the effect of aging time on resistance to localized corrosion of hyper duplex stainless steel, a double-loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation test a potentiodynamic anodic polarization test, a scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectroscope analysis, and a thermodynamic calculation were conducted. With an increase in aging time, sigma phases are precipitated much more than chi phases due to the meta-stable chi phase acting as a transition phase. As aging time at $850^{\circ}C$ increases, the corrosion resistance decreases owing to an increase in Cr, Mo and W depleted areas adjacent to the intermetallic phases such as sigma phases and chi phases.

Therefore, this study did by purpose that 6sigma that is scientific method that do customers satisfaction by ultimate purpose acts as basic study that can heighten practical use Possibility and result of interior Design management and value by interior design standardization process. Need to use marketing data that is scientific design component at schematic design step for successful interior design that can improve result. Hereupon, this study is doing to big dimension that utilizes 6sigma and makes standard process of only Interior Design, and did to dimension that present study phase verifies if '6sigma' is practical use possibility by intoner design process. Did by method that verification method of 6sigma practical use possibility analyzes "Information transmission efficiency improvement of department store display space" 6sigma project example. When see that example project is analyzed on Improvement constituent that "Design improvement" out of Vital few Xs of statistical analysis item must heighten the customers satisfaction rate conclusively, target process might be established because design becomes center of gravity if did design improvement very first time. Finally, possibility that 6sigma can utilize in process of interior design is verified, and it is scientific methodology that can utilize to all business members that there are not any special category of business even if is in practical use. Such scientific 6sigma method need persistent study that make standard process analyzing a lot of problems that is expected to be beaconed and happens substantially in here after to management development of interior design.

  • This paper considers a six sigma project for reducing the project costs through project risk management. The project follows a disciplined process of five phases: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. A risk management process map is used to identify process input and output variables. Seven key process input variables are selected by using C&E diagram and X-Y matrix and finally four vital few input variables are selected by the related statistical analysis. The optimum alternatives of the vital few input variables are obtained by the method of PUGH matrix. The process is running on control plan and we obtained substantial project cost reductions in early stage of the control phase.

  • This paper presents a six sigma project for improving customer satisfaction of a franchise store. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phase : define, measure, analyze, improve, and control(DMAIC). Due to the limitation of existing methodologies, numerous difficulties arise during the six sigma application to transactional processes. This paper expected to be helpful to service industry in which is very difficult to measure and implement.

  • This paper gives an overview of fractional-N phase-locked loops (PLLs) with practical design perspectives focusing on a ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ modulation technique and a finite-impulse response (FIR) filtering method. Spur generation and nonlinearity issues in the ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ fractional-N PLLs are discussed with simulation and hardware results. High-order ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ modulation with FIR-embedded filtering is considered for low noise frequency generation. Also, various architectures of finite-modulo fractional-N PLLs are reviewed for alternative low cost design, and the FIR filtering technique is shown to be useful for spur reduction in the finite-modulo fractional-N PLL design.

Evaluation of Embrittlement in Isochronal Aged Fe-Cr Alloys by Magnetic Hysteresis Loop Technique

  • Fe-Cr alloys with different Cr contents were prepared by an arc melting technique. The alloys were isochronally aged in the range from $400^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$ with $50^{\circ}C$ steps with a holding time of 100 hours. The ageing produced embrittlement in the alloys due to either the formation of a Cr-rich ${\alpha}'$ phase or a $\sigma$ phase at high temperatures. Magnetic Hysteresis Loop (MHL) and Micro-Vickers hardness were measured at each step to correlate the magnetic and mechanical properties. Coercivity and hardness of the alloys were increased and remanence decreased up to 500-$550^{\circ}C$ due to formation of a Cr-rich ${\alpha}'$ phase. Beyond 500-$550^{\circ}C$ range, the coercivity and hardness decreased and remanence increased due to the coarsening or dissolution of the Cr-rich ${\alpha}'$ phase. In the Fe-48% Cr alloy, formation of the $\sigma$ phase at $700^{\circ}C$ reduced the maximum induction of the alloy significantly.

6시그마 경영혁신 기법을 활용한 대학 전기 에너지 절감 캠페인 (A Six Sigma Activity for Saving Electrical Energy in a University Campus)

  • 원유가의 불안정성 증가와 지구 온난화로 인해 에너지 절감이 글로벌 이슈화 되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 대학 캠퍼스에서 전기 에너지를 절감하기 위해 수행된 6시그마 프로젝트를 소개하는 것이다. 전기 에너지 절감 캠페인을 위하여 6시그마의 5단계 절차인 DMAIC를 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 전기 에너지 절감 의식 수준을 정량화하기 위한 방법을 제안하였고, 모든 캠퍼스 구성원들의 에너지 절감 의식을 변화시키기 위해 다양한 활동을 전개하였다. 추진 성과는 매우 성공적이었다. 6시그마 프로젝트를 통하여 캠퍼스 전체 전기 소비량의 약 10%를 절약하였는데, 이는 연간 비용으로 5,000만원에 해당된다. 본 연구의 성공은 세간의 관심을 끌고 있는 "녹색 장학금"을 추진하는 계기를 제공하였다. 또한, 대학 캠퍼스가 6시그마 교육을 위한 좋은 실습의 장으로 활용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

우지 Alcoholysis 반응물을 이용한 Oil-in-Water Emulsion의 포화도에 따른 산화특성 및 안정성 연구 (Stability of Oil-in-Water Emulsions with Different Saturation Degrees from Beef Tallow Alcoholysis Products)

  • 본 연구는 urea fractionation을 통하여 포화도 함량이 5.8%, 28.4%, 39.2%, 50.7%, 72.3%인 우지 alcoholysis 반응물을 제조하고, 이를 유상(oil phase)으로 ultrasonic processor 및 고압균질기를 이용하여 emulsion을 제조한 후 이에 대한 유화 안정성과 산화 안정성을 실험하였다. 유화 안정성(ES)을 관찰한 결과 ES값은 46.0(${\Sigma}$SFA5), 39.5(${\Sigma}$SFA28), 32.7(${\Sigma}$SFA39), 32.6(${\Sigma}$SFA50) 및 27.3(${\Sigma}$SFA72)로써 포화도가 낮은 emulsion일수록 높은 안정성을 보였으며, Turbiscan을 이용하여 시료 emulsion의 creaming 및 clarification 특성을 조사한 결과도 ES 결과와 유사하게 나타났다. 고압균질기로 제조한 emulsion 시료에 대하여 30일간 산화특성 및 안정성 연구를 진행한 결과, 제조한 emulsion의 hydroperoxides 함량이 1.880(${\Sigma}$SFA5), 1.267(${\Sigma}$SFA28), 1.062(${\Sigma}$SFA39), 0.342(${\Sigma}$SFA50) 및 0.153(${\Sigma}$SFA72)mg $H_2O_2/mL$로 서로 유의적 차이(p<0.05)를 나타내면서 불포화도가 높은 emulsion 시료일수록 hydroperoxide의 함량이 높았고, TBARS 값은 저장 30일에 6.229(${\Sigma}$SFA5), 6.801(${\Sigma}$SFA28), 6.246(${\Sigma}$SFA39), 4.419(${\Sigma}$SFA50) 및 4.226(${\Sigma}$SFA72) mg TBA/mL로 ${\Sigma}$SFA50과 ${\Sigma}$SFA72가 다른 emulsion 시료보다 유의적으로(p<0.05) 낮은 값을 보이며 산화 안정성이 우수하였다.

슈퍼 듀플렉스 스테인레스강의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 열처리 후 냉각속도의 영향 (Effects of the Cooling Rate After Annealing Treatment on the Microstructure and the Mechanical Properties of Super-Duplex Stainless Steel)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of the cooling rate after heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 2507 duplex stainless steels. Heat treatment was carried out at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr, followed by controlled cooling. The cooling rates were $175.6{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, $47.8{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, $33.3{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, $16.7{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, $11.7{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, $5.8{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$ and $2.8{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$, which resulted in variations of the microstructure, such as the fractional change of the ferrite phase and sigma phase formation. Fatigue, hardness, impact and tensile tests were performed on the specimens with different cooling rates. The precipitation of the ${\sigma}$ phase caused a hardness increase and a sharp decrease of toughness and tensile elongation. The fatigue limit of the sample with a cooling rate of $5.8{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$ was 26 MPa higher than that of the sample with a cooling rate of $175.6{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$. Our observations of the fracture surface confirmed that the higher fatigue resistance of the specimen with a cooling rate of $5.8{\times}10^{-3}^{\circ}C/s$ was caused by the delay of the fatigue crack growth, in addition to higher yield strength.
