  • In this paper, we prove basic a priori estimate for the ${\bar{\partial}}$-Neumann problem on an annulus between two pseudoconvex submanifolds of a Stein manifold. As a corollary of the result, we obtain the global regularity for the ${\bar{\partial}}$-problem on the annulus. This is a manifold version of the previous results on pseudoconvex domains.

  • Let M be an n-dimensional $K{\ddot{a}}hler$ manifold with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature and let ${\Omega}{\Subset}M$ be a pseudoconvex domain of order $n-q$, $1{\leq}q{\leq}n$, with $C^2$ smooth boundary. Then, we study the (weighted) $\bar{\partial}$-equation with support conditions in ${\Omega}$ and the closed range property of ${\bar{\partial}}$ on ${\Omega}$. Applications to the ${\bar{\partial}}$-closed extensions from the boundary are given. In particular, for q = 1, we prove that there exists a number ${\ell}_0$ > 0 such that the ${\bar{\partial}}$-Neumann problem and the Bergman projection are regular in the Sobolev space $W^{\ell}({\Omega})$ for ${\ell}$ < ${\ell}_0$.

  • Let X be a complex manifold of dimension n $n{\geqslant}2$ and let ${\Omega}{\Subset}X$ be a weakly q-convex domain with smooth boundary. Assume that E is a holomorphic line bundle over X and $E^{{\otimes}m}$ is the m-times tensor product of E for positive integer m. If there exists a strongly plurisubharmonic function on a neighborhood of $b{\Omega}$, then we solve the ${\bar{\partial}}$-problem with support condition in ${\Omega}$ for forms of type (r, s), $s{\geqslant}q$ with values in $E^{{\otimes}m}$. Moreover, the solvability of the ${\bar{\partial}}_b$-problem on boundaries of weakly q-convex domains with smooth boundary in $K{\ddot{a}}hler$ manifolds are given. Furthermore, we shall establish an extension theorem for the ${\bar{\partial}}_b$-closed forms.

  • Let D be a bounded domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with $C^2$ boundary. In this paper, we prove the following inequality $${\parallel}u{\parallel}_{p_2,{\alpha}_2}{\lesssim}{\parallel}u{\parallel}_{p_1,{\alpha}_1}+{\parallel}\bar{\partial}u{\parallel}_{p_1,{\alpha}_1+p_1}/2$$, where $1{\leq}p_1{\leq}p_2<\infty,\;{\alpha}_j>0,(n+{\alpha}_1)/p_1=(n+{\alpha}_1)/p_1=(n+{\alpha}_2)/p_2$, and $1/p_2{\geq}1/p_1-1/2n$.

  • Let $r\;{\geq}\;q$. We get the stability of the estimates of the $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann problem for (p, r)-forms on a weakly q-convex complex submanifold. As a by-product of the stability of the $\bar{\partial}$-estimates, we get the Mergelyan approximation property for (p, r)-forms on a weakly q-convex complex submanifold which satisfies property (P).

  • In the present paper we consider an abstract partial dif-ferential equation of the form $\frac{\partial^2u}{{\partial}t^2}-\frac{\partial^2u}{{\partial}x^2}+A(x.t)u=f(x, t)$, where ${A(x, t):(x, t){\epsilon}\bar{G} }$ is a family of linear closed operators and $G=GU{\partial}G$, G is a suitable bounded region in the (x, t)-plane with bound-are ${\partial}G$. It is assumed that u is given on the boundary ${\partial}G$. The objective of this paper is to study the considered Dirichlet problem for a wide class of operators $A(x, t)$. A Dirichlet problem for non-elliptic partial differential equations of higher orders is also considerde.

  • Let $D \subset C^n$ be a smoothly bounded pseudoconvex domain and let ${\bar{D}_r}_r$ be a family of smooth perturbations of $\bar{D}$ such that $\bar{D} \subset \bar{D}_r$. Let $K_D(z, w)$ be the Bergman kernel function on $D \times D$. Then $lim_{r \to 0} K_{D_r}(z, w) = K_D(z, w)$ locally uniformally on $D \times D$.

  • The paper describes localization of deformation in a bar under tensile loading. The material of the bar is considered as non-linear viscous elastic and the bar consists of two symmetric halves. It is assumed that the model represents behavior of the quasi-brittle viscous material under uniaxial tension with different loading rates. Besides that, the bar could represent uniaxial stress-strain law on a single plane of a microplane material model. Non-linear material property is taken from the microplane material model and it is coupled with the viscous damper producing non-linear Maxwell material model. Mathematically, the problem is described with a system of two partial differential equations with a non-linear algebraic constraint. In order to obtain solution, the system of differential algebraic equations is transformed into a system of three partial differential equations. System is subjected to loadings of different rate and it is shown that localization occurs only for high loading rates. Mathematically, in such a case two solutions are possible: one without the localization (unstable) and one with the localization (stable one). Furthermore, mass is added to the bar and in that case the problem is described with a system of four differential equations. It is demonstrated that for high enough loading rates, it is the added mass that dominates the response, in contrast to the viscous and elastic material parameters that dominated in the case without mass. This is demonstrated by several numerical examples.

  • We prove a unique continuation theorem for $C^{\infty}$ functions in pseudoconvex domains in ${\mathbb{C}}^{n}$. More specifically, we show that if ${\Omega}$ is a pseudoconvex domain in ${\mathbb{C}}^n$, if f is in $C^{\infty}({\Omega})$ such that for all multi-indexes ${\alpha},{\beta}$ with ${\mid}{\beta}{\mid}{\geq}1$ and for any positive integer k, there exists a positive constant $C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}$ such that $$|{\frac{{\partial}^{{\mid}{\alpha}{\mid}+{\mid}{\beta}{\mid}}f}{{\partial}z^{\alpha}{\partial}{\bar{z}}^{\beta}}{\mid}{\leq}C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}{\mid}f{\mid}^{\kapp}}\;in\;{\Omega}$$, and if there exists $z_0{\in}{\Omega}$ such that f vanishes to infinite order at $z_0$, then f is identically zero. We also have a sharp result for the case of strongly pseudoconvex domains.

  • In order to examine the validity of an asymptotic solution obtained from the method of multiple scales, we investigate a third-order subharmonic resonance response of a bar constrained by a nonlinear spring to a harmonic excitation. The motion of the bar is governed by a linear partial differential equation with a nonlinear boundary condition. The nonlinear boundary value problem is solved by using the finite difference method. The numerical solution is compared with the asymptotic solution.
