일부 간호사의 근무환경에 따른 직업적 손상 및 신체적·정신적 건강상태 비교 (Comparison of Physical, Mental Health Status and Work-related Injuries According to the Working Environment of Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 간호사들의 근무환경에 따른 직업적 손상 및 신체적, 정신적 건강상태를 비교분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 서울의 한 대학병원에 근무하는 192명의 간호사를 조사대상으로 하였다. 근무환경과 직업적 손상에 따른 건강상태의 각각의 범주를 분석한 결과 신체적, 정신적 건강에 의미있는 차이가 있음을 발견하였다. 교대근무는 고정근무에 비해 직업적 손상과 상당한 관련이 있었다. 또한 밤근무가 다른 근무형태에 비해 간호사들의 신체적, 정신적 건강에 부정적 영향을 미치고 있음이 확인되었다. 따라서 근무환경과 직업적 손상에 의한 그들의 건강상 문제를 고려하여 근무체계가 개발되어야 할 필요가 있다. 그리고 밤근무자들을 위한 추가적인 지원 및 효과적인 밤근무를 위한 연구를 해야 할 것이다.

미취학 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 역할갈등, 배우자지지 자원이 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향 (The effect of work-family role conflict and spousal support resources on parenting stress among working mothers with pre-school children)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of work-family conflict and spousal support resources on parenting stress among working mothers with pre-school children. This study involved a total of 232 working mothers with children enrolled in child care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do as conducting a survey. First, the higher the work-family conflict (inter-role conflict caused by the impact of work on family life), the higher the family-work conflict (inter-role conflict caused by the impact of family life on work). Moreover, the lower the level of spousal support resources (emotional spousal support resources, instrumental spousal resources), the higher the work-family conflict and family-work conflict. The level of parenting stress was higher in working mothers experiencing greater work-family conflict and family-work conflict both and lower levels of spousal support resources for parenting. Second, the number of children and the amount of work-family conflict and instrumental spousal support resources had a statistically significant impact on parenting stress. Thus, the higher the number of children, the greater the work-family conflict, and the lower the level of instrumental spousal support resources, the higher the level of parenting stress. The findings of this study highlight the relative effects of role conflicts between work and family and of spousal support resources on parenting stress in working mothers. Husbands' being involved in parenting, in particular, was identified as an important support function for healthy child-rearing by successfully combining career and family responsibilities.

중소규모 제조업 근로자의 상지 근골격계질환 발생에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Related Factors of Upper Limb Musculoskeletal Disease in Small-to-Medium-sized Manufacture Enterprises Workers)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted at small-to-medium-sized manufacture enterprises less than 300 employees. Method: For 167 workers in 12 small-to-medium-sized manufacture, we examined the self-recording questionnaires about general characteristics, health characteristics, occupational characteristics and subjective musculoskeletal symptoms designed by NIOSH. Result: Related factors of upper limb musculoskeletal symptoms were found in using of the PC except work, the speed control at working and inappropriate positions for neck, and that using of the PC except work, the degree of intensity at working and the speed control at working for shoulder, and that the degree of intensity at working, the speed control at working, inappropriate positions and excessive workforce for arm/elbow, and that the degree of intensity at working, the speed control at working, inappropriate positions, excessive strong and vibration for hand/wrist/fingers. Conclusion: As a result of multiple logistic regression analysis, musculoskeletal symptoms of neck were influenced by use of the PC except work, household work, and the speed control at working, symptoms of shoulder by using of the PC of except work and the degree of intensity at working, symptoms of arm/elbow by the speed control at working, and symptoms of hand/wrist/fingers by the degree of intensity at work and excessive workforce.

저온 열원 활용을 위한 암모니아-물 혼합물을 작동유체로 하는 칼리나 사이클의 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of Kalina Cycle using Ammonia-Water Mixture as Working Fluid for Use of Low-Temperature Energy Source)

  • Since the thermal performance of cycles for use of low-temperature source is low if a pure working fluid is used, the cycles using ammonia-water binary mixture as a working fluid has attracted much attention over past two decades. Recently, several commercial power plants using Kalina cycles have been built and being operated successfully. In this work thermodynamic performance of Kalina cycles using ammonia-water mixture as a working fluid is investigated for the purpose of extracting maximum power from low-temperature energy source. Special attention is paid to the effect of system parameters such as concentration of ammonia and turbine inlet pressure on the characteristics of the system. Results show that the system performance is influenced sensitively by the ammonia concentration, and the role of the performance of heat exchangers is crucial.

납 취급 근로자의 Monte-Carlo simulation을 이용한 노출 및 건강위해성평가 (Exposure and Health Risk Assessment of Lead Workers using Monte-Carlo Simulation)

  • Objective : This study was conducted to quantify chronic lead exposure from various media(ie. working environment, food, ambient air), and to certify the usefulness of exposure assessment using Monte-Carlo simulation in the fields of occupational health. Methods : Data were obtained from Korean Industrial Health Association, Korea Food and Drug Administration, and the Ministry of Environment. Then lead worker's exposure was estimated indirectly from various media and parameters (ie. volume inhaled, body weight, dietary intake, etc.). Uncertainty was analyzed by Monte Carlo simulation with Crystal Ball software. Exposure doses and hazard indices were simulated with various hypothetical scenarios including weekly working hours and respiratory protective equipment. Results : Without respiratory protective equipment, the total exposure dose per kilogram of body weight of lead workers was estimated as $5.45{\times}10^{-3}mg/kg/day$, and hazard index was estimated as 2.26, and exposure contributions were calculated as follows : working environment(82.42 %); foods(17.57 %); and ambient air(0.01 %). But, if working condition has changed - reduction of working hours and using respiratory protective equipment, the total exposure dose per kilogram of body weight was estimated between $1.34{\times}10^{-3}-1.49{\times}10^{-3}mg/kg/day$, and hazard index was estimated between 0.56 - 0.62. Conclusions : This study suggested that occurrence of hazardous impact(ie. increased blood pressure) through lifetime lead exposure would be expected, and that the Monte-Carlo simulation was useful for the fields of occupational health.

기혼 직장여성의 출산의도 결정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinants of Married-Working Women's Childbirth Intention)

  • Postponing childbirth is becoming increasingly common and consequently serious social problem in Korea, among married-working women. It is relatively unknown which factors determine married-working women's childbirth intention. This study investigated the effects of demographical factors, labor market factors and social support factors on married-working women's childbirth intention. Data from a national survey of married-working women (Korean longitudinal survey of women and families) are used in this study. The findings are as follows. First, logistic regression analyses that married-working women's childbirth intention could be predicted by 1) personal characteristic factors such as age (p <.000), education level (p<.029), parenthood (p<.000) monthly pay (p<.01); 2) husband support factors, such as satisfaction with division of household labor (p<.009), time with family (p<.049) influence of family life on work (p<.083); and 3) institutional support factors such as regular position (p<.015), regression analysis showed similar results. Personal characteristic factors and husband support factors had statistically significant effects on the number of future children. Personal value factors such as traditional family support (p<.05) proved to be the best predictor of the number of future children. Institutional support factors, on the other hand, did not have statistically significant effect on the number of future children. In a nutshell, personal characteristics and husband support proved to be the most important determinant of married-working women's childbirth intention. The findings suggest that family friendly policy and flexible labor market policy will impact married-working women's childbirth intention.

초등학생 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 균형의 잠재전이분석: 일-가정 균형의 유형 및 유형 간 전이의 예측요인 검증을 중심으로 (Latent Transition Analysis of the Work-Family Balance of Working Mothers with a Child in Elementary School: Focus on the Effect of Antecedents on both Work-Family Balance Typology and Transition between Typologies)

  • The purpose of the study was to apply latent transition analysis to the work-family balance of working mothers with a child in elementary school by focusing on the effect of antecedents on both work-family balance typology and the transition between typologies. Data from 400 working mothers who participated in the eighth and eleventh waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children were used. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the latent profile analysis of working mothers whose children were in the first grade classified the work-family balance types as 'contradictory' or 'beneficial' and of working mothers whose children were in the fourth grade as 'conflictual', 'contradictory', 'high beneficial', 'low beneficial' or 'beneficial'. Second, working mothers whose work-family balance was 'contradictory' or 'beneficial' when their children were in the first grade mostly had, respectively, a 'low beneficial' or a 'high beneficial' balance when their children were in the fourth grade. Third, the probability of being classified into each type differed according to subjective happiness and marital conflict in the first grade, and marital conflict and social support in the fourth grade. Moreover, marital conflict and social support were significant in the transition between the types of work-family balance. The study showed that the types of work-family balance differed for each time point for individual working mothers. The study also highlighted the importance of parenting-related personal, family and social factors in determining the work-family balance type and transition between types.

소아 수모세포종 환자의 인지 기능 (Cognitive Functions in Children Treated for Medulloblastoma)

  • Objectives : To investigate the cognitive functions of pediatric cancer patients and to test the hypotheses that the impairment of processing speed and working memory are more prevalent in children with medulloblastoma (MBL) compared to children with neuroblastoma (NBL). Methods : We gave the Korean version of the Wechsler Intelligent Scale for Children-III to 21 children with MBL and 24 children with NBL during outpatient follow-up after the treatment was completed. Results : Children with MBL showed below average performance across most of the sub-tests. The full scale IQ, verbal IQ, and performance IQ of children with MBL were significantly lower than those of children with NBL. There were significant differences between two groups in coding and Digit Span subtest scores. Children with MBL performed especially poorly in the coding subtest. Conclusion : These findings support previous reports of generally low IQ and the dysfunction of processing speed and working memory among children with MBL, a kind of central nervous system tumor. Further investigation is needed to determine how the deficit of processing speed and working memory affect neurocognitive development and general intelligent functions.

기혼 취업여성의 건강상태, 생식건강상태 및 산전관리상태 (Health Status, Reproductive Health Problems, and the Degree of Prenatal Management in Married Working Women)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine health status, reproductive health problems and the degree of prenatal management in working women. Method: The subjects were 902 married working women among 2,000 women selected by cluster sampling. The work area was classified to product factory, school, office, etc. After an Informed consent was obtained, participants were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire. The instruments included a questionnaire, parity check list, menstrual problems and gynecologic problem check list. Result: Many women have experienced menstrual cycle change during the past year. There was a significant difference in general health, menstrual regularity, reproductive health and prenatal management by occupation type. 40.6 percent of the subjects have gynecological problems such as menstrual cycle change, perineal inflammation, irregular vaginal bleeding, amenorrhea, ovarian/uterine disease, infertility, or abortion. Prenatal care was received in only 28.5% of the total subjects. In addition, 16.3% answered they had experienced low birth weight babies. Conclusion: We can conclude that working woman have changes in menstruation cycle and in reproductive health status. Therefore, we suggest that some occupational characteristics may affect subject's reproductive health, these should be clear and avoided as much as possible.

유해환경 근무 경험이 우울에 미치는 영향 - 음주의 매개효과와 주관적 건강의 조절효과를 중심으로 - (The Effect of Exposure to Hazardous Workplace Environment on Depression - Focusing on Mediating Effects of Drinking and Moderating Effects of Subjective Health Status-)

  • Objectives: The working environment affects employees' physical and mental aspects, and has a deep associations with depression. The purposes of this study are to investigate how hazardous environment working experience impacts on depression, to provide rationale and practical implications for reducing depression and drinking. Methods: This study targeted 215 dental hygiene students from 3 universities located in Gyeonggi-do from November 30 to December 4, 2015. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test. One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, Regression analysis by using SPSS. Results: This study showed that experience working in hazardous environments increased depression and alcohol drinking, on the other hand alcohol drinking reduced depression. In addition, experience working in hazardous environments effected on depression indirectly through mediating of drinking, subjective health had not role of Moderating Effects between experience working in hazardous environments and depression. Conclusions: In order to reduce workers' depression and alcohol, the improvements of harmful environment are needed. For this governments and local governments should efforts to support enhancing workplace environment, to develop model of standard work environment, and to change employers' awareness on the harmful environment.
