Mediating Effect of Challenging Work in the Relationship between Cognitive Style and Creative Action in Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 인지스타일과 창의적 행동 간에 직무 도전성의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among cognitive style, creative action, and challenging work and then determine whether challenging work has a mediating effect between cognitive style and creative action. Methods: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 275 clinical nurses who graduated from 3-year nursing schools and worked in hospitals in Seoul or Kyungki Province. The questionnaire included measurements of cognitive style, creative action and challenging work. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, T-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Mean scores for cognitive style, creative style, and challenging work were $3.28{\pm}0.42$, $3.22{\pm}0.57$, $3.40{\pm}0.63$, respectively. Significant correlations were found between cognitive style and challenging work, cognitive style and creative action, and challenging work and creative action. Cognitive style was significantly different according to years in clinical career, and in hospital size. Challenging work was significantly different according to age and position. Creative action was significantly different according to years in clinical career. Finally challenging work had a mediating effect between cognitive style and creative action. Conclusion: Findings from this study provide a comprehensive understanding of challenging work for clinical nurses and indicate related factors and importance.

Some Determinants of manager Style and household Work Organization on the Urban Homemakers in Korea (도시주부의 가사노동 조직화 및 관리자 유형 분석)

  • The main objective of this dissertation is to find out the measurement methods of household work organization and manger style and the quantitative analysis methods of influential factors on household work organization and manager style. Subjects were homemakers living in metropolitan , medium and small cities. Questionnaires were sent to subjects and usable responses were 1139 out of 1239 received questionnaires. Data collected through both preliminary and main survey were analyzed by using frequencies, percentage, analysis of variance, chi-square test and pearson's correlation analysis. Results are as follows; 1) The degree of household work organization was distributed on upper middle level exceeding middle score. Among subsystems of household work such as task assignment , test regularization, task arrangement and task standardization. subjects show the highest positive attitude in task standardization. 2) The characteristics of management in household work have task centered orientation. By the prority of task centered orientation, the order was integrated style. dedicated style. It means that the most ideal style is an integrated style which accounts for one-third of the total homemakers. 3) Household organization's subsystems and household work manager style are related with socio-demographic variables. Integrated style is significantly related with homemaker's employment and having helpers for household work. homemakers who are employed and have helpers for household work exhibit high scores in task assignment and task arrangement. Dedicated style is significantly related with homemaker's age and the number of children. Homemakers who are older and have many children exhibit high scores in task assignment. Related style is significantly related with marriage duration, education level and income level. Homemakers who have a long marriage duration exhibit high scores in task assignment and who have high education and income level exhibit high scores in task regularization. Seperates style is significantly related with homemaker's age m marriage duration an family life cycle. homemakers who ar older, have a long marriage duration and are of late stage in family life cycle exhibit seperated style and high scores in organization. To summarize research findings, household work manger and household work organization are related with family life experiences, and task assignment is an influential variable on manager style. in conclusion, it is evident that household work organization emphasizes efficiency as cognitive component and such organization. Finally it is necessary to broaden this research considered social psychological variables. And also it needs to build household manger style models appropriate fro the characteristics of each style.

Factors Affecting Work Performance During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study from Indonesia

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competency, work discipline, and work environment on teacher performance during the pandemic. Using the proportional random sampling strategy, a sample of 468 respondents consisted of kindergarten teachers, elementary school teachers, junior high school teachers, junior high school teachers, and high school/vocational school teachers. The study revealed that the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment substantially impact teacher performance. However, the principal's democratic leadership style does not affect teacher performance, whereas teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment have a minor impact on teacher performance. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, work discipline is the most critical variable influencing teacher performance. The findings of this study suggest that the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment have a positive impact on teacher performance during the pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, work discipline is the most important variable influencing teacher performance. Considering that democratic leadership has no effect on teacher performance and that this leadership style is widely used by school principals in the world of education, it is assumed that there is no effect on teacher performance.

The Effects of CEO Leadership on Employees' Job Satisfaction in Tourist Hotels (관광호텔 CEO의 리더십이 종사원 직무 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the effects of CEO leadership on Employees' job satisfaction in tourist hotels. Samples were the employees working at 10 deluxe hotels in Seoul and a total of 300 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, among which 191 valid ones were used for the analysis. After data cording, answers were processed by SPSS 12.0. As a result of the factor analysis on CEO leadership, 3 factors(management style, settlement style, and work style) were extracted; for employees' job satisfaction, 3 factors(work environment, service environment, and job environment) were extracted. As the results of the study, management style and work style among CEO leadership factors have a statistically positive impact on work environment. Next, management style has a statistically positive impact on service environment. Finally, management style and work style has a statistically positive impact on job environment.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the housewives' characteristics of household work management. to classify the household work manager styles and to investigate the relationship between the household work manager styles and the family life satisfaction. The data used for statistical analysis is 352 housewives. The data were analyzed by using SPSSWIN Program, $x^2$-test, one-way ANOVA With Duncan's Multiple Range test and t-test were utilized to test null hypotheses. The major findings of this study were as follows : Human centered household work management was more popular than task centered. Family life satisfaction was significantly different depending on the household work manager style. The idel style was concluded as the most desirable manager style.

  • Hair style was mean of visual symbol that display position or wealth about human life. Also, have spoken for cultural value as human body plastic art that speak for the age. I wished to study about modeling of hair style and interrelationship of color by analyzing systematically laying stress on color through contest creation work consisted in beauty art congress. Urpose of this study is as following. First, examines domestic' outside great council work head change by era, and studies Hair Work's change in work head. Second, Hair Color's change that appear in domestic' outside contest work head studies effect that get in work. Method of study runs parallel literature study and supporting research, utilized domestic' outside literature, connection paper, magazine, picture data etc. To literature study, and work picture data examined laying stress on work that is choosesed picture dataworld beauty use association (OMC) data etc. that appear in domestic' outside beauty art magazine to examine closely specification and stability of beauty art game style and participates in domestic and world beauty art contest. In this study, domestic' characteristic, and effect that collar gets in work head of collar that collects outside contest participating in an athletic contest hair style by ($1981{\sim}$until present) by year and appears in contest work head and in work since analyzing study forward $2007{\sim}2008$ year direction of collar. First, stream of whole color of the 1980s Brown gave highlight color point partially to basis, and was consisted of creative style and do Gold base color on the whole in Hair by Night item. Second, various Hair color was popularized in the 199Os, and Tuton's color appeared in beauty art game work, and I contributed to improve technique that step-up gradation color appears and does technique to highlight in neon orange in creative style and Hair by Night item by entrance on the stage of neuter gender color.

A Study on Current Status on Job Activities of Cooks at Deluxe Hotels in Busan (부산 지역 특급호텔에 종사하는 조리사들의 직무 실태에 관한 연구)

  • A study was carried out to get information on hotel cooks. We needed to obtain the information on the working environment and satisfaction of the cooks to improve the working environment, a culinary art training program and an efficient man power control program. This study surveyed 305 cooks who work for deluxe hotels in Busan. The results were as fellows: The great part(67.2%) of the cooks was male and less than forty years old (85.6%), 67.0% of the cooks graduated from college and they had over 5 years(33%) or 1${\sim}$3 years(32.0%) in their current work places. 74.8% of the cooks earned less than 1.5 million won in a month. The cooks had on the average 1.53 lieences per person, and the most popular ones were the Western style(55.1%) and Korean style(49.2%) culinary arts. The most work places of the male cooks were Western style(49.3%) and Japanese style(41.8%) restaurants, but those of the female cooks were Western style(49.3%) and Korean style(30.6%) restaurants. The male cooks have worked over 5 years(36.0%) or 1${\sim}$3 years(31.0%) at these work places and the working period of female cooks ranged overall. Job satisfaction was found higher than satisfaction of work places and had no connection with age, job ranks, level of salary and academic background. The higher the age, job ranks, level of salary and academic background were, the more all the cooks satisfied about their jobs and work places.

The Relation of Educational Level and Life-Style Behaviors to Obesity in Adult Males (성인 남성의 교육수준 및 생활습관에 따른 비만위험도)

  • This study examined the relations of educational level and life-style behaviors to the obesity. A total of 507 male adults aged 30 - 50 years completed the self-reported questionnaires. Educational level was used for measuring socioeconomic status. Activity at work, leisure-time activity and TV watching were measured for life-style behaviors related to physical activity, and some demographic and family history of disease as well. Subjects were categorized as obese when BMI was equal to or over 25kg/$m^2$, in which 19.7% resulted obesity. Using multivariate logistic regression, the association between the measured factors and obesity was assessed. The odds ratios (OR) for risk of obesity did not differ with either age or monthly income. Subjects who completed high school (OR = 0.36; 95% CI = 0.20 - 0.66) or university (OR = 0.34; 95% CI = 0.16 - 0.71) had lower risk of obesity than those with education below middle school. Those with moderate activity level at work (OR = 0.41; 95% CI = 0.24 - 0.72) showed lower risk of obesity than in inactive ones. The subjects watching TV more than 3.5 hr/day presented higher risk of obesity (OR = 2.46; 95% CI = 1.28 - 4.74), compared with those watching TV less than 1.5 hr/day. The higher risk of obesity observed in high level of leisure time activity than in low one was considered due to that physical activity at work and leisure-time might counteract each other. Educational level and activity at work or leisure-time activity or TV watching were jointed and categorized, and then OR for obesity was estimated. The extent of obesity risk at a given level of each work activity or leisure-time activity or TV watching was different depending the educational level, which was significantly high when educational level was below middle school. Educational difference had no effect on activity level at work. However, higher educational attainment increased the leisure activity and reduced TV watching (p<0.05), indicating that low education tended to contribute to more sedentary life-style. The findings of this study is concluded that low education was related to obesity in adult males, and its relation can partly be explained through acquiring inactive life-style behaviors. Individuals with low education might be more susceptible to the risk factors of obesity.

  • Entering into the mature stage of internet society, we need to understand people's internet using qualitatively. So, this study purposed to relate the types of internet usage and the types of household work using internet by the family except housewife. Web-based questionnaire were administered to 250 male and female subjects respectively. Results were as follows: First, types of internet usage were‘e-style’,‘self-actualization’, and‘family-oriented’. Second, the characteristics of e-style were white collar, college- graduated, and high income. And this type had positive attitude about internet, longer periods of usage, higher level of computer skill, longer usage time than my other types. Third, types of household work using internet were‘commitment in transaction’and‘strong involvement in family life’. fourth, the e-style and the self-actualization were related with the type of commitment in transaction and the family oriented was related with the type of strong involvement in family life. Finally, if the e-style increase, family members except housewife, there are trend of commitment in the household work.
