  • According to increasing activities in the cyberspace, various on-line services through the Internet have been offered, and many recent studies on the Internet services such as instant messenger, game, and portal site have been performed to evaluate quality of these services. However researches on weblog(blog), a personal online journal for general public consumption, have not been performed much yet. Therefore, we have conducted an empirical study on investigating the structural relationships among weblog service quality, satisfaction and loyalty in this study. After reviewing the related literatures, we have suggested a model for evaluating the service quality of weblog, wb-SERVQUAL(weblog-SERVQUAL), by modifying the conventional SERVQUAL model based on characteristics of weblog. Structural Equation Model(SEM) has been used to analyze the structural relationships among service quality of weblog, user satisfaction and customer loyalty. Managerial implications are also suggested for managing the weblog sites in conclusion.

  • Weblog is one of the most spread web services. The content of the weblog includes daily events and emotions. If we collect personal information using mobile devices and create a weblog, user can create their own weblog easily. Some researchers already developed systems that created weblog in mobile environment. In this paper, user's activity is inferred from personal information in mobile device. The inferred activities and story generation engine are used to generate text for creating a weblog. Finally, the text, photographs and user's movement in Google Map are integrated into a weblog.

  • In recent years, Weblog has become the most typical social media for citizens to share their opinions. And, many Weblogs reflect several social issues. There are many internet users who actively express their opinions for internet news or Weblog articles through the replying comments on online community. Hence, we can easily find internet blogs including more than 10 thousand replying comments. It is hard to search and explore useful messages on weblogs since most of weblog systems show articles and their comments to the form of sequential list. In this paper, we propose a visualizing and clustering system called TRIB (Telescope for Responding comments for Internet Blog) for a large set of responding comments for a Weblog article. TRIB clusters and visualizes the replying comments considering their contents using pre-defined user dictionary. Also, TRIB provides various personalized views considering the interests of users. To show the usefulness of TRIB, we conducted some experiments, concerning the clustering and visualizing capabilities of TRIB, with articles that have more than 1,000 comments.

  • In Webspace, mining traversal patterns is to understand user's path traversal patterns. On this mining, it has a unique characteristic which objects (for example, URLs) may be visited due to their positions rather than contents, because users move to other objects according to providing information services. As a consequence, it becomes very complex to extract meaningful information from these data. Recently discovering traversal patterns has been an important problem in data mining because there has been an increasing amount of research activity on various aspects of improving the quality of information services. This paper presents a Dynamic Link Recommendation (DLR) algorithm that recommends link sets on a Web site through mining frequent traversal patterns. It can be employed to any Web site with massive amounts of data. Our experimentation with two real Weblog data clearly validate that our method outperforms traditional method.

  • Political weblogs are as diverse as political viewpoints are. In the period of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, several political crises occurred, such as opposition to the Amnesty Act, the constitutional amendment, and the anti-government protests. Remarkably, during this time, social media were used as a platform for political expressions. This study employed a content analysis method to explore twenty-nine Thai political weblogs established during the period of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's administration. At the time, the most prominent Thai political weblogger was Nidhi Eawsriwong. Not surprisingly, the Pheu Thai Party and the Democrat Party were the most frequently appearing political parties in these weblog's posts. Most contents in these posts were related to government protesters by the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and the coup d'état. The purposes of writing such weblogs were to express feelings and thoughts about Thai politics and to provide political information to the general public. The findings from this investigation revealed two significant uses of Thai political weblogs: the communication media for political expressions and viewpoints (a safe online space for political engagement and participation), and vital sources for Thai political information and news (social narratives).

  • The purpose of this paper is to identify the usefulness of Weblog genre analysis in knowledge creation within an organization where communications are occurred frequently among the employees with information and communication technologies (ICTs). Knowledge creation is essential to achieve competitive advantage in today's knowledge-oriented working environments. There has been huge investment on knowledge management systems to achieve such advantages. It is, however, widely recognized that distributed knowledge management systems often fail due to the different social contexts across the sub-organizations where the local information systems are deployed. It is important to coordinate such social gaps across the sub-organizations to achieve better advantages. Given that Weblogs users often feel a shared social norm. Weblogs playa positive role of narrowing the social gaps. This paper argues that the genre analysis of Web logs could provide important clues to narrow the social gaps existed across the sub-organizations within an organization. Hence, such taxonomical practice may be a solution for the high rate of failure in knowledge management system implementations in an organization. This paper uses the theory of organizational knowledge creation (Nonaka & Takeuchi. 1995) and social construction of technology (SCOT) approach (Bijker, 1995) to compare the socialized with the non-socialized integration of distributed information systems. The findings of this research provide a useful framework for better implementing knowledge management practices especially in distributed working environments.

  • In recent years, the number of users who are actively express their opinions about Internet articles is more and more growing up, as the use of cyber community such as weblog or Internet discussion board increases. In fact, it is not difficult to find an article with hundreds of comments in famous Internet discussion boards. Most of the weblogs or Internet discussion boards present comments in the form of list and do not yet support even the basic operation such as searching comments. In this paper, we analysed large sets of comments in Internet discussion board named AGORA. It was found that from the result that the distribution of comment writers follows power-law. So we suppose a new search structure of comments using skip lists. The main idea of our approach is to reflect the probabilistic distribution properties of the commenters following the power-law to the data structure. Our empirical results show that the proposed method performs more efficient in searching the nodes with fewer number of comparison operations than logN, which is the theoretical time complexity of general indexed structure such as B-trees or typical skip lists.

  • With the rapid decline of the school-age population, the competition for admissions has increased and marketing through digital channels has become more important, so universities are investing more resources in online promotion and communication to recruit new students. This study uses Google Analytics, a web log analysis tool, to track the visitor behavior of a university admissions website and establish a digital marketing strategy based on it. The analysis period was set from July 1, 2023, when Google Analytics 4(GA4) was integrated, to January 10, 2024, when the college admissions process was completed. The analysis revealed interesting patterns such as geographical information based on visitors' access location, devices(operating systems) and browsers used by visitors, acquisition channels through visitors traffic, conversions on pages and screens that visitors engaged with and visitor flow. Based on this study, we expect universities to find ways to strengthen their admission promotion through digital marketing and effectively communicate with applicants to gain a competitive edge.
