  • We made to develop CNC Tool Grinding Machine automating the linear motion of X,Y,Z axis of table, and thetilting and rotation of tool holding vice by using Encorder to increase the efficiency of tool grinding for the Conventional Tool Grinding Machine. We did not consider the part of static, dynamic and thermal behavior that must necessary consider when wedesign, because we used existing Conventional Tool Grinding Machine as it is. We investigated simulation to make existing Conventional Tool Grinding Machine like CNC. We also designed it, and we compared the capability of existing Conventional Tool Grinding and CNC Tool Grinding Machine, and we investigated, too.

  • We study on a Mohr-Mascheroni theorem, which is the followings: If a construction problem is solved by euclidean tools(compass and ruler), then it can be solved using only compass. Though it is known that Mohr-Mascheroni theorem was proved by Mascheroni, but we have not any materials concerned with Mascheroni's work. In order to investigate Mohr-Mascheroni theorem, we analyze Euclid's Elements, and we draw some construction problems, which are essential for proving Mohr-Mascheroni theorem. We solve these problems using only compass. Though we don't solve all construction problems of Euclid's Elements, we can regard that Mohr-Mascheroni theorem is proved.

  • In our model, we keep inventory to satisfy uncertain demands which arrives irregularly. In this situation, we have additional two constraints. First, we need to have certain amount of order consolidation (consolidation constraint) for the orders to replenish the inventory because of production or purchase constraint. And also, if we order at a certain date which was set by administrative convenience, we have amount constraint to order the consolidated order demands (capacity constraint). We showed this variant inventory policy is needed in steel industry and note that there will be possible similar case in industry. To deal with this case, we invented a variant replenishment policy and show this policy is superior to other possible polices in the consolidation constraint case by extensive simulation. And we derive a combined solution method for dealing with the capacity constraints in addition to the consolidation constraints. For this, we suggest a combined solution method of integer programming and simulation.

  • In this paper we introduce a new tensor named semi-projective curvature tensor which generalizes the projective curvature tensor. First we deduce some basic geometric properties of semi-projective curvature tensor. Then we study pseudo semi-projective symmetric manifolds $(PSPS)_n$ which recover some known results of Chaki [5]. We provide several interesting results. Among others we prove that in a $(PSPS)_n$ if the associated vector field ${\rho}$ is a unit parallel vector field, then either the manifold reduces to a pseudosymmetric manifold or pseudo projective symmetric manifold. Moreover we deal with semi-projectively flat perfect fluid and dust fluid spacetimes respectively. As a consequence we obtain some important theorems. Next we consider the decomposability of $(PSPS)_n$. Finally, we construct a non-trivial Lorentzian metric of $(PSPS)_4$.

  • We are faced with water pollutions on a population explosion. Considering the importance, we research European rivers based on OECD reports. Observations in the reports have defects that make evaluation of environmental situations be difficult. By using interpolations in the compensation quantitative structure-activity relation ships (CQSAR), we complement the defects in the water quality of rivers through big cities. Thus, we get complete data set for dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, and total phosphorus. Using the data set, we examine re-naturalization of the Rhein and the Donau in Germany. We investigate the effect of dams between Slovakia and Hungary, by using reconstructions of neural networks in CQSAR. The reconstructions have functions to extract a principal relation. On the investigation, we examine assertions of conservation groups. As the result, we confirm the re-naturalization is effective, and find a negative effect of the dam construction on changes of dissolved oxygens in the Hungary Donau. We investigate the Seine and the Thames, too.

  • Nowadays, large amounts of XML documents are available on the Internet. Thus, we need to analyze them multi-dimensionally in the same way as relational data. In this paper, we propose a new frame-work for multidimensional analysis of XML documents, which we call XML-OLAP. We base XML-OLAP on XML warehouses where every fact data as well as dimension data are stored as XML documents. We build XML cubes from XML warehouses. We propose a new multidimensional expression language for XML cubes, which we call XML-MDX. XML-MDX statements target XML cubes and use XQuery expressions to designate the measure data. They specify text mining operators for aggregating text constituting the measure data. We evaluate XML-OLAP by applying it to a U.S. patent XML warehouse. We use XML-MDX queries, which demonstrate that XML-OLAP is effective for multi-dimensionally analyzing the U.S. patents.

  • In this study, we processed two procedures of application test of filler for fire-resistance utility that are new application methods of aerated concrete and properties test of aerated concrete according to mixing ratio because we investigated the better use of aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety and we proposed basic data about standardization of mixing of aerated concrete. We measured flow and volume change of aerated concrete. And if its volume doesn't change, we added measuring unit weight and compressive strength. To test application of aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety, we filled up aerated concrete to fireproof safety according to suitable mixing ratio. Then we measured maximum temperature of inner part of fireproof safety in accordance with the standard test of fireproof. According to the results, aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety could be possibly used. So when we make aerated concrete, we should consider using an adding agent as well as a foaming agent.

  • In this paper, our interest is the identification and control of nonlinear dynamic plant, induction motor, by using neural networks. We usually use vector control in the induction motor such as in the DC motor. When we go over the inputs of voltage source invertor, we can find that torque current and flux current couple each other in the induction motor. Before putting control inputs in the system, we should remove the coupling terms which we already know from them. But we should consider that cross coupling terms have time-varying variables. In this paper, we identified the parameter of induction motor by using neural networks and designed the controller with identified parameters. Through this procedure we obtained compensated inputs which are decoupled each other. Using induction motor currents control, we can make the d axis current hold constant value and control the q axis current at the same time.

  • In this paper, we start with the question "what is algebraic thinking\ulcorner". The problem is that the algebraic thinking is not exactly defined. We consider algebraic thinking from the various perspectives. But in the discussion relating to the definition of algebraic thinking, we verify that there is the algebraic notations in the core of algebraic thinking. So we device algebraic notations into the six categories, and investigate these examples from the school mathematics. In order to investigate this relation of algebraic thinking and algebraic notations, we present 'the algebraic thinking process analysis model' from Frege' idea. In this model, there are three components of algebraic notations which interplays; sense, expression, denotapion. Thus many difficulties of algebraic thinking can be explained by this model. We suppose that the difficulty in the algebraic thinking may be caused by the discord of these three components. And through the transformation of conceptual frame, we can explain the dynamics of algebraic thinking. Also, we present examples which show these difficulties and dynamics of algebraic thinking. As a result of these analysis, we conclude that algebraic thinking can be explained through the semiotic aspects of algebraic notations.

  • When we use a Finite Elements Method (FEM) to solve a linear static analysis problem, number of elements need to be sufficiently small for convergence of the solution. If we analysis a part, whose curvature is varying heavily, we face to determine how small the elements size is, because the calculated stress is increased as the elements are smaller. In this case, we need to analysis with mesh insensitive method, stress linearization. We can get a solution that is not varying with the elements size if the size is smaller than a certain level. In this paper, we evaluate a pressure vessel having geometrical discontinuities using stress linearization. First, we analysis the vessel with global model, including all part of the vessel, using large shell elements. Second, we analysis the local part of the vessel, which is the small part occurring maximum stress, using small continuum elements. Last, we evaluate the safety of the pressure vessel according to the ASME Sec. VIII Div 2.
