  • Rapid screening method for the determination of the emissions of pollutants from vehicle interior parts and materials have been developed as ISO 12219-2 which is using bag and based on a static condition. The method was not controlled humidity in the test bag, so it is not suitable test method for formaldehyde emission test which is highly related to humidity condition. In this study, possibility of control humidity in the static test bag by adding extra water and the effect of humidity condition for formaldehyde emissions have been investigated. The relative humidity in the test bag was affected not only amount of water added also material of test bag and test specimen. The emission intensity of formaldehyde was increased according to increasing relative humidity in test bag. But excessively supplied water was condensed on the inner surface of test bag and surface of sample specimen that were sorption formaldehyde and were reduced its emission intensity.

  • This study aims to investigate effects of the length of the buoy and sand bag line on the loss of webfoot octopus pot. A numerical modeling and simulation was carried out to analyze the process that the pot gear affected by wave using the mass spring model. Through the simulation, tensions of sand bag line under various condition were investigated by length of buoy and sand bag line. The drag force and coefficient k of an artificial shell used in the webfoot octopus pot was obtained from an experiment in a circular water channel, and the coefficient k was applied to the simulation. To verify the accuracy of the simulation model, a simple test was conducted into measuring a rope tension of a hanging shell under flow. Then, the test result was compared with the simulation. The lengths of the buoy line in the simulation were 1.12, 1.41, 1.80, 2.23, 2.69, and 3.17 times of water depth. The lengths of sand bag line were 10, 20, 30, and 40 meters, and conditions of water depth were 8, 15, 22 meters. 4 meter height and 8 second period of wave were applied to all simulations. As a results, the tension of the sand bag line was decreased as the buoy and sand bag line were increased. The minimum tension of the sand bag line was appeared in conditions that the length of the buoy line is twice of water depth and the sand bag line length is over 40 meters (except in case of depth 8 meters.).

  • The hydrodynamic problem is treated here when a pressurized bag is submerged partially in the water and the end points of it oscillate. SES(Surface Effect Ship) has a bag filled with pressurized air at the stern in order to prevent the air leakage, and the pitch motion of SES is largely affected by the hydrodynamic force of the bag. The shape of a bag can be determined with the pressure difference between inside and outside. Once the hydrodynamic pressure is given, the shape of a bag can be obtained, however in order to calculate the hydrodynamic pressure we should know the shape change of the bag, and vice versa. Therefore the type of boundary condition on the surface of a bag is a moving boundary like a free surface boundary. The present paper describes the formulation of this problem and treats a linearized problem. The computations of the radiation problem for an oscillating bag are shown in comparison with the case that the bag is treated as a rigid body. The hydrodynamic forces are calculated for various values of the pressure inside the bag and the submerged depth.

  • As a primary step in studying the effects of the netting porosity on the net-shape in the four-seam trawling net, a series of experiments were performed changing the porosity of each panel, with the simplified mo:iel of the bag net made of porous vinyl film and that ma:ie of net webbing. These models were suspended horizontally in circularly flowing water, with two pairs of susp~nding threais to four points of symetry at the border of the bag mouth in place of both wing nets. And then, the section shape of the bag mouth photographed and the tensions on both pairs of suspending threads were measured with two load cells in circularly flowing water. From the results, the auther estimated an experimental equation from the relationship between the porosity of each panel in the bag net and the section shape of the bag mouth, h/w=k (l-Pr_u/lPr_s)

  • Purpose: To investigate the effects of a warm water-filled bag on body temperature, Oxygen demand, respiratory rate and blood sugar in high risk neonates. Method: The infants were assigned to two groups, 16 in the experimental and 20 in the control group. Infants in the experimental group was received $40{\~}42^{\circ}C$ warm water-filled bag therapy for 2 hours under radiant warmers. Infants in the control group were placed under the same kind of radiant warmers but without the warm water-filled bag. The following were measured every 30 minutes: rectal temperature, $O_2$ demand ($FiO_2$), and respiratory rate. Blood sugar was measured hourly. Result: Body temperatures increased significantly in the experimental group (P=0.0138), and there was a difference according to time (P=0.0001). Significant difference were found between the two groups fur $FiO_2$ (P=0.0180). There was no difference in respiratory rates between the two groups and rates according to time for the experimental group were also not significant (P=0.3569). No significant difference between two groups was found for blood sugar (P=0.2152), but there was a significant difference according to the times (P=0.0001). Conclusion: This results of this study indicate that a warm-filled bag is an effective means of resorting body temperature and reducing $O_2$ demand in high risk neonates.

  • This study is conducted to evaluate the effects of root restriction on growth of maple(Acer palmatum Thumb.). Tow types of container such as clay pot(CP), root control bag(RCB) were used to restrict maple's root and each type of container was divided into 5 sizes. The containers with plants were buried just below the soil level and maples planted directly in the soil (nonrestricted root treatment) were included as comparison. Data were collected on dry weight of leaf, trunk, thick root, rootlet and soil water potential. We have analyzed, simple linear regression, Pearson's Correlation analysis, Duncan's multiple rang test, and Covariance Analysis using SAS statistical software. The results of analysis based on these data are as follows; 1. Total dry weight of maple in CP was significantly larger than in RCB. 2. Difference in growth reduction by the kinds of containers was induced by different hydraulic diffusion ratios between container and soil. Difference in growth reduction by the size of container was induced by the difference density of rootlet and soil moisture contents in the container. 4. Commercial products of root control of root control bag appeared not proper for countries in which fluctuation of rainfall is severe. Because maples in RCB were restricted by excess soil water in the rainy season, or by lack of soil water in the dray season.

This model was suspended horizontally in circularly flowing water, with two pairs of suspending threads to four points of symetry at the border of the bag mouth in place of both wing nets. And then, the area distribution of each panel in the bag net was arranged by the portion of the length of the side panel, q to that of the lower or upper panel, p at the border of bag mouth. In the experiments, the section shape of the bag mouth photographed and the tensions on both pairs of suspending threads were measured with two loadcells in circularly flowing water. From the results that the section shape of the bag mouth in circularly flowing water is controlled by the area distribution of panels in the bag net, the author estimated an experimental equation. h/w=k sub(1) e super(k) 2 super(q/p)+C, where h is the central height of the bag mouth, and w is the lateral width of that.
