바이오디젤 구성분자와 유도세탄가 상관관계 연구 (The Study of Correlation between Biodiesel Components and Derived Cetane Number)

  • Biodiesel produced from triglyceride which is main component of animal fats and vegetable oils by methanolysis was known for remarkable cetane number. In this study, the derived cetane number of 3 kinds of biodiesel came from vegetable oils such as soybean oil, palm oil, and perilla oil and 2 kind of biodiesel which were produced from beef tallow and pork lard were analyzed using IQT (Ignition quality tester). In IQT test result, the derived cetane number of palm- , beef tallow- and pork lard's biodiesel were more excellent than other biodiesels. After analysis of biodiesel composed molecular by gas chromatography-mass and determination of the derived cetane number of pure biodiesel components using IQT, we have found that the low olefin contented and long alkyl chained biodiesel have excellent derived cetane number.

  • Trans fat is a unsaturated fatty acid with trans configuration and separated double bonds. Analytical methods have been introduced to analyze trans fat content in foods including infrared (IR) spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC), Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, reverses-phase silver ion high performance liquid chromatography, and silver nitrate thin layer chromatography. Currently, FT-IR spectroscopy and GC are mostly used methods. Trans fat content in 6 vegetable oils were analyzed and processing effects including baking, stir-frying, pan-frying, and frying on the formation of trans fat in corn oil was evaluated by GC. Among tested vegetable oils, corn oil has 0.25 g trans fat/100 g, whereas other oils including rapeseed, soybean, olive, perilla, and sesame oils did not have detectable amount of trans fat content. Among cooking methods, stir-frying increased trans fat in corn oil whereas baking, pan-frying, and frying procedures did not make changes in trans fat content compared to untreated corn oils. However, the trans fat content was so low and food label can be declared as '0' trans based on the regulation of Ministry of Food ad Drug Safety (MFDS) (< 2 g/100 g edible oil).

남부지역 시설채소 재배 농가의 친환경농자재 사용실태 (The Usage Status of Environment-friendly Materials for Vegetable Cultivated under Protected Houses in the Southern Part of Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 시설재배되는 오이, (방울)토마토, 딸기, 가지, 고추, 상추, 깻잎, 파 등 8개 작물에 대해 2003년부터 2004년까지 영남과 호남지역을 대상으로 78개 친환경인증 재배농가에서의 친환경농자재 사용실태를 조사하였다. 친환경농자재는 작물의 종류에 따라 병해충예방을 위해 21-87가지, 비료효과를 위해 0-9가지, 생육촉진을 위해 2-41가지, 토양관리를 위해 10-37가지를 사용한다고 응답하였다. 조사에서 나타난 323 품목에 이르는 친환경농자재를 합리적으로 관리하기 위해서는 앞으로 구성물질과 유용성을 과학적으로 구명하려는 노력이 요구된다.

가락동 농수산물도매시장 반입 들깻잎과 상추의 잔류농약 실태 및 안전성 평가 (Pesticide Residues Survey and Safety Evaluation for Perilla Leaf & Lettuce on the Garak-dong Agricultural & Marine Products Market)

  • 2010년부터 2012년까지 서울 가락동 농수산물도매시장에서 경매되는 채소류 중 들깻잎 4,063건 상추 2,248건을 대상으로 잔류농약 검사를 실시하였다. 들깻잎은 812건에서 농약이 검출되었고 40건이 부적합판정을 받았다. 상추의 경우 108건에서 농약이 검출되었고 잔류허용기준을 초과한 상품은 10건이었다. 검출된 농약은 들깻잎 61종, 상추는 28종이었다. 들깻잎 및 상추 섭취에 따른 다종농약 성분에 대한 안전성 평가는 들깻잎이 0.05% 이하, 상추가 0,1% 이하로서 인체에 대한 위해성은 낮은 것으로 평가되었다.

  • 본 연구에서 우리는 들깻잎(Perilla frutescens)으로부터 U937 세포에 대해 apoptosis를 유도하는 광과민성 물질을 분리하기 위해 연구를 시작하였다. 들깻잎은 한국의 대중적인 쌈채소로 바타민, GABA, 미네랄 등이 풍부하다고 알려져 있다. 건조한 들깻잎을 메탄올로 추출하여 다양한 크로마토그래피법을 이용하여 광과민성 물질을 순수 분리하였다. 순수 분리한 광과민성 물질을 PL9443으로 명명하고, 구조동정을 위하여 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR, FAB-mass spectroscopy 분석을 실시하였다. 순수 분리한 PL9443 compound의 흡광도를 측정한 결과 410 nm에서 최대 흡수를 보였고, 330, 410, 680 nm에서 흡수 peak를 나타내었다. PL9443 compound는 분자량 620.7의 pheophorbide a ethyl ester로 동정하였다. 구조동정한 물질은 porphyrin환을 갖는 구조에서 Mg이온이 탈리된 pheophorbide 유도체화합물이었다. PL9443 compound의 처리에 따른 U937 세포의 형태학적 변화를 관찰한 결과, 광조건에서 apoptosis의 전형적인 현상인 apoptotic body와 소낭구조물이 형성되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 PL9443 compound를 0.08 nM로 처리하였을 때 99%의 caspase-3/7 activity가 나타났고, 세포손상 역시 광의존적으로 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. PL9443 compound를 처리하고 광을 조사한 처리구와 광을 조사하지 않은 처리구의 세포로부터 DNA를 분리하여 전기영동을 실시한 결과 광을 조사한 곳에서 DNA ladder현상을 관찰할 수 있었다. 따라서 PL9443 compound는 광의존적 apoptosis 유도에 의한 세포손상을 일으키는 것을 확인하였다.

조선시대 궁궐 편액 복판의 단청 기법 연구 (Analysis of Dancheong Technique Used in the Middle Tablets of the Royal Palace Plaque during the Joseon Period)

  • This study attempted to analyze how dancheong for palace tablets during the Joseon period was designed as related to what plans and what materials were being used. It also investigated how this unique culture formed. The results found the following: First, the tablet dancheong unveiled through literature was designed using diverse techniques such as jinchae and yeokcheongchil. In jinchae, shell powder was applied to the tablet as the first lacquering, and then was colored. Second, in lacquer, maechil, chaesaekchil and jeohyeoptaechil were used. In yeokcheongchil, vegetable black, oil ash and perilla oil were applied to bitumen. Third, during the Joseon Dynasty, dancheong was applied to a tablet after first lacquering just like the danpihoe lacquering of Jiangsu Sheng, China. This tablet dancheong technique was developed based on a unique Korean lacquering culture that had been handed down from ancient times.

정규적 운동을 하는 성인 남성의 비만도 및 지방급원 식품에 대한 의식조사 (The Prevalence of Obesity and Nutrition Status in Regular Exercising Men)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of obesity and the concerns with omega 3 fatty acid intakes in 100 men do regular exercising. Most subjects were 23~66 years old whose average height and weight were 170.0$\pm$0.5cm and 68.2$\pm$0.8kg, respectively. Prevalence of obesity was 7%, 41% and 41% by criteria of Bioelectrical impedance analysis, Skin fold thickness and Body mass index, respectively. According to this survey, 75% of the subjects prefered vegetable oil to animal fat, 55% of them prefered seaweeds to shellfishes and 76% of them prefered natural foods to processed foods for good health. 61% of the interviewed subjects had the experience of eating perilla oil and 49% of them chose the Mackeral that had contained omega 3 fatty acids. The reason that seaweeds were good for health was rather high vitamin and mineral content than low fat.

국내 유통중인 유기농 채소류의 미생물 분포도 분석 (Monitoring of Pathogenic Bacteria in Organic Vegetables from Korean Market)

  • 최근에 건강식품의 선호에 따라 신선 채소류 등의 소비가 증가하면서 농산물의 안전성에 대한 관심이 점점 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 유통 중인 유기농 채소류를 구입하여 총균수, Salmonella spp., E. coli O157:H7, S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, Y. enterocolitica 등의 병원성 미생물의 오염도를 분석하고 유기농산물의 식중독균에 대한 잠재적인 위험성을 평가하는 기초자료에 도움을 주고자 수행하였다. 유기농 채소류 4종의 일반 세균수 수준을 비교한 결과 오이의 일반 세균수 수준이 가장 높았고, 토마토의 일반 세균수는 가장 낮았다. 유기농 채소 중 깻잎의 일반 세균수는 $4.2{\sim}7.7log\;CFU\;g^{-1}$, 상추는 $5.0{\sim}8.0log\;CFU\;g^{-1}$, 토마토는 $4.0{\sim}7.5log\;CFU\;g^{-1}$, 오이는 $6.6{\sim}8.6log\;CFU\;g^{-1}$ 범위였다. 유기농 채소에서 Salmonella spp., E. coli O157:H7, S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, Y. enterocolitica 등은 검출되지 않았다. 일반 세균수는 관행 농산물과 비슷한 수준을 보였으며 병원성 미생물은 전혀 검출되지 않았기 때문에 식중독균 오염수준은 극히 낮을 것이라고 생각한다. 그런데 오염될 수 있는 가능성이 있으므로 생산, 유통 단계에서 주의 깊은 관리가 필요하다고 판단된다.

Simultaneous Molecular Detection of Cryptosporidium and Cyclospora from Raw Vegetables in Korea

  • Cryptosporidium and Cyclospora are well-known coccidian protozoa that can cause waterborne and food-borne diarrheal illnesses. There have been a few reports regarding contamination in different vegetables with Cryptosporidium, but no data are available regarding the sources of Cyclospora infections in Korea. In the present study, we collected 6 kinds of vegetables (perilla leaves, winter-grown cabbages, chives, sprouts, blueberries, and cherry tomatoes) from July 2014 to June 2015, and investigated contamination by these 2 protozoa using multiplex quantitative real-time PCR. Among 404 vegetables, Cryptosporidium and Cyclospora were detected in 31 (7.7%) and 5 (1.2%) samples, respectively. In addition, Cryptosporidium was isolated from all 6 kinds of vegetables, whereas Cyclospora was detected in 4 kinds of vegetables (except perilla leaves and chives). Cryptosporidium (17.8%) and Cyclospora (2.9%) had the highest detection rates in chives and winter-grown cabbages, respectively. Cryptosporidium was detected all year long; however, Cyclospora was detected only from October to January. In 2 samples (sprout and blueberry), both Cryptosporidium and Cyclospora were detected. Further investigations using TaqI restriction enzyme fragmentation and nested PCR confirmed Cryptosporidium parvum and Cyclospora cayetanensis, respectively. In conclusion, we detected C. cayetanensis in vegetables for the first time in Korea. This suggests that screening should be employed to prevent these protozoal infections in Korea.

수경재배 잎들깨의 생육과 수량에 미치는 코이어 배지의 혼합비율 효과 (Effect of Coir Substrate Mixing Ratios on the Growth and Yield of Perilla Leaves under Hydroponics)

  • This study aimed to determine the most suitable coir substrate mixing ratio for optimizing the growth and yield of the "lpduelkkae 1" cultivar. We comprehensively analyzed the physicochemical properties, growth, and yields of four different substrate combinations: perlite (coir with mixing ratios of 70:30 (PC30), 50:50 (PC50), and 30:70 (PC70)) and 100% coir (C100). The results revealed substantial differences in substrate properties. C100 exhibited the highest total porosity and the lowest solid phase, indicating excellent air permeability. The pH levels and electrical conductivity (EC) values ranged from 5.4-6.8 and 1.2-3.1 dS·m-1, respectively. Leaf growth parameters, including length, width, and dry weight, showed positive correlations with high coir ratios, except for PC30. PC70 and C100 outperformed other substrates in stem growth, exhibiting superior stem diameter and fresh and dry weights. The quantity of marketable leaves was the highest in the C100 substrate. Furthermore, C100 comprised integrated levels of essential nutrients, such as Ca and Mg, owing to its high coir content. In conclusion, a coir ratio of approximately 70% (v/v) should be maintained in the substrate for creating an optimal cultivation environment. Furthermore, the selection of humidity-resistant varieties as well as precise nutrient and moisture management for different seasons and growth stages are crucial for a successful perilla leaf hydroponic cultivation.
