  • This study deals with the dynamic characteristics analysis of Linear Induction Motor (LIM) using finite element method in which the moving mesh technique is considered. The focus of this paper is to show the appropriate of on-line observer system for position sensorless control of a LIM under the phase asymmetry, saturation and iron loss. Comparisons are given with angle of the observer and that of proposed FEA method of linear induction motor, respectively. The position sensorless control system is realized, and the effective of the observer system is verified by experimental results.

On the $L_2(\Omega)$-error for the p-version under numerical quadrature rules

  • We consider non-constant coefficient elliptic equations of the type -div(a \bigtriangledown u) = f$, and employ the P-version of the finite element method as a numerical method for the approximate solutions. To compute the integrals in the variational form of the discrete problem we need the numerical quadrature rule scheme. In practice the integrations are seldom computed exactly. In this paper, we give an $L_2(\Omega)$-error estimate of $\Vert u = \tilde{u}_p \Vert_{0,omega}$ in comparison with $\Vert u = \tilde{u}_p \Vert_{1,omega}$, under numerical quadrature rules which are used for calculating the integrations in each of the stiffness matrix and the load vector.

  • In this paper, a short primary-short secondary single-sided LIM which is used as a driving source for automatic conveyor system, is selected as a analysis model. And with a method for analyzing eddy current distribution and thrust force which are produced according to the relative position of primary and secondary, FEM in which current vector potential is introduced is adopted. Also, analysis results are compared with experimental results, so propriety of this at study is proved.

  • This paper presents an electromagnetic analysis of a tubular linear machine with axially magnetized permanent magnets using improved analytical techniques. Based on the magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional polar-coordinate system, the magnetic field and armature reaction field can be derived. Using these, equivalent circuit parameters, such as the electromotive force and inductance, can be obtained analytically. Finally, the generating characteristics are derived with the equivalent circuit method. In this study, the finite element method was employed to provide a comparative evaluation, and experiments were conducted to validate the results of the analytical analysis.

  • The advantage of application polymer instead of conventional porcelain as the housing material for arrester is that light weight, shorter section length of arrester would be possible due to the use of an insulated hanger (mold compound). also, polymer arrester has very good characteristics in design versatility as well as excellent resistance to moist ingress and pollution performance. The finite element method is widely used to calculate for electromagnetic devices. In this paper, we perform the each conditional analysis of PC with an advanced graphical user interface(GUI) using the vector fields simulator. And we try to analyze electromagnetic fields through the conventional two dimensional analysis in case of high voltage contamination on the electrode of a arrester.

Detection and quantification of structural damage under ambient vibration environment

  • In this paper, a new damage detection and quantification method has been presented to perform detection and quantification of structural damage under ambient vibration loadings. To extract modal properties of the structural system under ambient excitation, natural excitation technique (NExT) and eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) are employed. Sensitivity matrices of the dynamic residual force vector have been derived and used in the parameter subset selection method to identify multiple damaged locations. In the sequel, the steady state genetic algorithm (SSGA) is used to determine quantified levels of the identified damage by minimizing errors in the modal flexibility matrix. In this study, performance of the proposed damage detection and quantification methodology is evaluated using a finite element model of a truss structure with considerations of possible experimental errors and noises. A series of numerical examples with five different damage scenarios including a challengingly small damage level demonstrates that the proposed methodology can efficaciously detect and quantify damage under noisy ambient vibrations.

  • This paper presents analyzed results of a permanent magnet motor by using complex E&S modeling. The calculated results are compared with ones from the conventional E&S modeling for verification. Combinations of the numbers of slots and poles are investigated to reduce total iron loss. The results demonstrate that the complex E&S modeling is very useful in design under consideration of rotational magnetic field and magnetic anisotropy.

  • This paper presents an analytical approach to the magnetic field and the inductances of slotless permanent magnet machines with two types of winding. On the basis of a magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional polar system, analytical solutions for flux density due to a permanent magnet and current are obtained. In addition, self and mutual inductances are obtained using the energy relationship. The analytical results are extensively validated by the nonlinear finite element method and by experimental results.

누설자속탐상의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Magnetic Flux Leakage Inspection)

  • 본 논문에서는 누설자속탐상에 대한 전자기 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석방법으로 2차원 유한요소법을 이용하였다. 자기벡터포텐셜을 미지수호 사용하였으며, 자기비선형(磁氣非線型)을 고려한 자장해석을 수행하여 자기포화에 의한 영향을 고려하였다. 수치해석 결과를 검증하기 위하여 실험장치를 자체 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다 시료로는 SM 45C 탄소강을 사용하였으며, 표면에 몇 가지 결함을 생성하였다. 시편과 실험장치를 이용하여 결함을 검출하는 비파괴검사를 수행하였다. 결함의 깊이 변화 및 결함의 형상변화에 대하여 결과를 비교 검토하였다. 수치해석 및 실험에서 유사한 결과를 얻었으며, 수치해석을 통하여 누설자속탐상의 시뮬레이션이 가능함을 보였다.

  • 지하의 유체 유동 및 물질 변환을 해석하기 위하여 다중다상이론을 이용한 통합 모형을 개발하였다 종합적 지배식은 4개의 상내의 화합물들의 물질 및 힘평형 관계를 고려하여 유도되었다. 복합한 이동 및 변환 현상을 설명하고, 공간적 차원을 변동적으로 나타내기 위하여 관계된 모든 변수 및 식들을 함축적이면서 조직적으로 표현하였다. 도출된 비선형시스템은 다차원 유한요소프로_I램으로서 해를 구하였다. 본 개발된 프로그램은 역동적으로 메모리 용량을 조절하여 일이삼차원 문제를 PC부터 SP2슈퍼컴퓨터까지 여러 종류의 기종에서 해석할 수 있다. 계산시간과 저장용량을 줄이기 위하여 시스템식을 분리시키고, 슈퍼컴의 벡터 및 병렬처리를 이용하여 띠행렬의 해를 구하였다. 유속이 우세한 경우의 수치해석상의 불안정한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 상류가중, 질량묶음, 요소별 파라미터 평가법 등을 적용하였다. 일차원 이동문제에 대하여 유한요소법과 유한차분법의 수치해의 안정성 조건을 검토하였다. 구체적인 지하수 유동 및 오염문제에 대한 모델링 예는 본 논문집의 연계 논문에 수록하였다.
