A Sensor Data Management System for USN based Fire Detection Application (USN 기반의 화재감시 응용을 위한 센서 데이터 처리 시스템)

  • These days, the research of a sensor data management system for USN based real-time monitoring application is active thanks to the development and diffusion of sensor technology. The sensor data is rapidly changeable, continuous and massive row level data. However, end user is only interested in high level data. So, it is essential to effectively process the row level data which is changeable, continuous and massive. In this paper, we propose a sensor data management system with multi-analytical query function using OLAP and anomaly detection function using learning based classifier. In the experimental section, we show that our system is valid through the some experimental scenarios. For the this, we use a sensor data generator implemented by ourselves.

  • Concrete placement work is executed using temporary structures such as formwork, support, etc. The temporary structures could collapse when they are not properly supported, and need to be monitored for structural safety. This paper introduces a USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network)-based monitoring system that are being tested at the Pusan National University for increasing structural safety. The system takes advantage of ubiquitous technologies together with a variety of sensors, which allows for wireless transmission of construction monitoring data. The temporary structures are constantly monitored to find out whether the structures are being supported in a stable condition. A field test is being conducted to acquire data, and use them for evaluating the safety condition of the construction operation.

Data Dissemination Protocol Considering Target Mobility in Ubiquitous Sensor Network (유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 환경에서 감지대상의 이동성을 고려한 데이터 전달 프로토콜)

  • This paper proposes DDTM for USN having end-point mobility. The existing network protocols did not consider target's and sink's mobility. So it requires flooding and path update whenever targets or sinks move. This can lead to drain battery of sensors excessively and decrease lifetime of USN. DDTM is the protocol based on TTDD considering sink's mobility. TTDD provides sink's mobility efficiently by using the grid structure, but it requires the high energy because of reconstructing the grid structure whenever targets move. In this way, the proposed protocol can decrease a consumption of energy, since it reuses the existing grid structure of TTDD, if the target moves in local cell. We compare DDTM with TTDD under the total message and the energy consumption by using a discrete analytical model for cost analysis. Analytical results demonstrated that our proposed protocol can provide the higher efficiency on target's mobility.

  • In the near future various new services will be created by using ubiquitous computing and ubiquitous network. Especially u-LBS(Ubiquitous Location Based Services) is recognized as one of the most important services. U-LBS is based on the data created by recognizing objects including both human and matters at any time and anywhere. Many researches related with object locating method by using RF are in the process of studying However there are few researches on the location of objects. In this paper we propose the recognition method of the location of objects by using RF and USN technology. In detail, the strength of RF signal is used to recognize the location of objects. Also we discuss about the future work to enhance the recognition rate of location by using a number of conditions including the weather, temperature etc. And Genetic Algorithm is used to get the optimal parameters with which we can get the more exact recognition rate of location.

  • This paper introduces an efficient USN (ubiquitous sensor network) for monitoring blind areas in a skiing resort, developed as a part of u-Sport showcase project of Gangwon Province. Blind areas of a skiing resort are dangerous and/or steep areas located aroud ski slopes, which are rarely traveled and not easily seen by a ski patrol. If an accident occurs in such a blind area, the main control center of the sking resort can hardly recognize the accident and provide first aid and rescue services promptly. The blind area monitoring system proposed in this paper monitors a blind area of a skiing resort using five battery-powered sensor nodes each of which has an image sensor on it and wirelessly transmits images around the blind area to the main control center on a regular basis, therebly allowing real-time monitoring of the blind area and prompt rescue services in case of accidents. Additionally, the monitoring system provides an emergency button which skiers injured in the blind area can push. If the button is pushed, an image around the button and an alarm signal are transmitted to the main control center and therefore the main control center can take prompt actions for rescuing the injured skiers.

  • Recently, the ubiquitous environment and the practical technology associated with it become more popular topic along with the rapid development of wireless technologies. The necessity of the automated system based on the ubiquitous environment has been increasing when the concept of the ubiquitous is integrated into the fields of existing IT. Also, the necessity of formulating a power-saving plan on large buildings and public institutions is gathering strength because of a raise in exchange rates and high oil prices. In this paper, to efficiently manage the power consumption of the electronic machine such as electric lights, electric heaters, and air conditioners in a building, power-saving manage- ment system using RFID/USN technologies is proposed. Proposed system controls the electric machine and monitor it's condition by RFID and collects the real time information about the surrounding and the power consumption of the electric machine by USN. Especially, proposed system analyzes the real time information and supports the intelligent scheduler with the best power-saving. Finally, this paper shows the difference between proposed system and existing system and establishes thereality of our system through experiments in variety environments.

  • Recently, it is expected that the agricultural and stockbreeding industry are damaged by the China-Japan-South Korea FTA and FTA between the United States and South Korea. After free trade, it is increasing to import crops, aquatic products, and livestock which are produced in a foreign land. But it is affected negatively to the trust relationships and markets, because of breaking it out that low grade foreign products are turned into domestic products. For this reason, we need the traceability management system. In this paper, it designs and implements the traceability management system using RFID and USN providing distribution traceability information as well as the traceability information of the growth environment, automatic control according to the facility growing and monitoring of the storehouse. The implemented whole systems consist of the growth environment monitoring and the traceability management. First, the growth environment monitoring shows the environment of plantation and automatic controller of the storehouse and growing facility. This growth environment monitoring information provides the detailed information about growth environment and writing the farming diary automatically by producer. Second, the traceability management provides all of the traceability information such as production, shipment and consumption to consumers. The traceability management system that has been designed and implemented using RFID and USN in this paper, provides the u-IT agriculture to producer and the reliability about agricultural products. In addition, this system provides the foundation data to operate GAP and HACCP, and becomes the advantaged agricultural products of the interior of a country by application of this system.

  • In the study, we developed and evaluated a uracil N-glycosylase (UNG)-supplemented single-tube nested reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (UsnRT-PCR) assay that can carried out first-round RT-PCR and second-round nested PCR in a reaction tube without reaction tube opening and can simultaneously detect EU- and NA-PRRSV. The UsnRT-PCR confirmed to have a preventing ability of mis-amplification by contamination of pre-amplified PRRSV DNA from previous UsnRT-PCR. Primer specificities were evaluated with RNAs extracted from 8 viral strains and our results revealed that the primers had a high specificity for both genotypes of PRRSV. The sensitivity of the UsnRT-PCR was 0.1 $TCID_{50}$/0.1 mL for EU- or NA-PRRSV, respectively, which is comparable to that of previously reported real time RT-PCR (RRT-PCR). Clinical evaluation on 110 field samples (60 sera and 50 lung tissues) by the UsnRT-PCR and the RRT-PCR showed that detection rates of the UsnRT-PCR was 70% (77/110), and was relatively higher than that of the RRT-PCR (69.1%, 76/110). The percent positive or negative agreement of the UsnRT-PCR compared to RRT-PCR was 96.1% (73/76) or 90.9% (30/33), showing that the test results of both assays may be different for some clinical samples. Therefore, it is recommend that diagnostic laboratory workers use the two diagnostic assays for the correct diagnosis for the relevant samples in the swine disease diagnostic laboratories. In conclusion, the UsnRT-PCR assay can be applied for the rapid, and reliable diagnosis of PRRSV without concerns about preamplified DNA carryover contamination that can occurred in PCR process in the swine disease diagnostic laboratories.

  • This paper deals with the cancellation performance of loop back interference signal in the case of multihop relay of 16-QAM received signal at the USN radio network. For this, it is necessary to the exchange of information with long distance located station by means of the relay function between the node in the USN environment. In the relay node, the loop-back interference signal which the retransmitting signal is feedback to the receiver side due to the antenna of transmitter and receiver are co-used or very colsely located or using the nonlinear device. Due to this signal, the performance of USN system are degraded which are using the limited resource of frequency and power. For improve this, it is necessary to applying the adaptive signal processing algorithm in order to cancellating the unwanted loop-back interference signal at the frontend of receiver in relaying node, we can get the better system and multi hop performance. In the adaptive signal processing, we considered the 16-QAM signal which has a good spectral efficiency, firstly, than, the QR-Array RLS algorithm was used that has a fairly good convergence property and the solving the finite length problem in the H/W implementation. Finaly, we confirmed that the good elimination performanc was confirmed by computer simulation in the learing cuved and received signal constellation compared to the conventional RLS.

  • The importance of a building management is embossed at construction industry and the concernment about a lengthening longevity and a efficient management of construction project is concentrated. At present, a study about maintenance management of existing building is progressed and normal papers concentrate in partial construction project for showing management method. This paper proposes Management method that make use of RFID/USN at the whole course of construction project that is composed plan, design, supply, construction, operation, maintenance management and so on. First of all, this paper analyzes process and applicable scope of RFID/USN at construction project. At each step, use scope, location, method and so on are decided at plan, design step and equipment, human power, materials and so on are established at supply step. real time progress, human power, safety, material, equipment management and so on put in operation at construction step and building is managemented real time by established sensor tag and wireless sensor network. This paper want to helps efficient project progress and management and presents convenience of maintenance management.
