  • Unmanned military vehicles (UMVs) will be increasingly applied to the various military operations. These UMVs are most commonly characterized as dealing with "4D" task - dull, dirty, dangerous and difficult with automations. Although most of the UMVs are designed to a high degree of autonomy, the human operator will still intervene in the robots operation, and tele-operate them to achieve his or her mission. Thus, operator capacity, along with robot autonomy and user interface, is one of the important design factors in the research and development of the UMVs. In this paper, we propose the method to assess the operator capacity of the UMVs. The method is comprised of the 6 steps (problem, assumption, goal function identification, operator task analysis, task modeling & simulation, results and assessment), and herein colored Petri-nets are used for the modeling and simulation. Further, an illustrative example is described at the end of this paper.

  • It is widely believed that cognitive radio (CR) networks have an opportunistic nature and therefore can only support best-effort traffics without quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees. In this paper, we propose a centralized CR network that adopts interference averaging techniques to support QoS guaranteed traffics under interference outage constraints. In such a CR network, a CR user adaptively adjusts its transmit power to compensate for the channel loss, thereby keeping the receive signal power at the CR base station (BS) at a constant level. The closed-form system capacity of such a CR network is analyzed and derived for a single cell with one CR BS and multiple CR users, taking into account various key factors such as interference outage constraints, channel fading, cell radius, and locations of primary users. The accuracy of the theoretical results is validated by Monte Carlo simulations. Numerical and simulation results show promising capacity potential for deploying QoS-guaranteed CR networks in frequency bands with fixed primary receivers. Our work can provide theoretical guidelines for the strategic planning of centralized CR networks.

  • We investigate lattice-reduction-aided precoding techniques for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. When assuming full knowledge of the channel state information only at the transmitter, a vector perturbation (VP) is a promising precoding scheme that approaches sum capacity and has simple receiver. However, its encoding is nondeterministic polynomial time (NP)-hard problem. Vector perturbation using lattice reduction algorithms can remarkably reduce its encoding complexity. In this paper, we propose a vector perturbation scheme using Seysen's lattice reduction (VP-SLR) with simultaneously reducing primal basis and dual one. Simulation results show that the proposed VP-SLR has better bit error rate (BER) and larger capacity than vector perturbation with Lenstra-Lenstra-Lovasz lattice reduction (VP-LLL) in addition to less encoding complexity.

  • Due to explosive growth of mobile data traffic, many kind of techniques based on small cell is proposed as solution for phenomenon. However, those techniques essentially demands increase of backhaul capacity and causes performance degradation if not satisfied. Based on that, the approach applying the storage capacity in place of backhaul capacity, which is known as femto-caching, is proposed to reduce data downloading delay of users in system. In this paper, we expanded previous research by proposing file placement strategy with distribution of user position, which is more practical scenario. Simulation results verify that our proposed scheme has better performance gains mainly because when coverage of helpers are overlapped, users get more opportunity to connect various helpers which enables users to download a variety kind of files from helpers, not base station.

  • In this paper, we propose an access point selection method for mobile users in LTE-femtocell system. In wireless communication system, users want to receive good data service. In LTE-femtocell system, if users move a little, users can experience different data service. The proposed access point selection method help that if users move a little, users obtain the high capacity and that user selects access point that other user have not selected much and so obtains higher data service. We simulated in order to prove performance of the proposed access point selection metod. Simulation results show that in a situation that users are concentrated in order to obtain better data service users are seen scattered look. As a result, we confirm that the proposed access point selection method provides good data service to users.

  • This study is an empirical study on the relationships among organizational citizenship behaviors, absorptive capacity, performance of using ERP(perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention of ERP extension usage). In particular, mediating effect of absorptive capacity and perceived usefulness is empirically analysed to find causes and impacts among these variables. In order to achieve the goals of this study, research models were proposed and hypothesis were drawn to test on the basis of previous studies. A survey was conducted to the members of the seven organizations such as manufacturers, distributors and service industry. The survey questionnaires were sent to 400 people and 304 of them were returned. This data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0. The study results are as follows. There were no direct effects of the organizational citizenship behaviors on the performance of using ERP. The organizational citizenship behaviors had a positive effects on the absorptive capacity. The absorptive capacity had also a positive effect on the performance of using ERP and the perceived ease of use. The perceived ease of use had a positive effect on the perceived usefulness and the intention of ERP extension usage. Futhermore, the perceived usefulness had a positive effect on the intention of ERP extension usage. In addition, there was a full mediating effect of the absorptive capacity on between the organizational citizenship behaviors and the performance of using ERP. The perceived usefulness had a partial mediating effect on between the perceived ease of use and the intention of ERP extension usage.

  • The paper considers a spectrum sharing cognitive radio (CR) network coexisting with a primary network under the average interference power constraint. In particular, the secondary user (SU) is assumed to carry delay-sensitive services and thus shall satisfy a given delay quality-of-service (QoS) constraint. The secondary receiver is also assumed to be equipped with multiple antennas to perform maximal ratio combining (MRC) to enhance SU performance. We investigate the effective capacity of the SU with MRC diversity under aforementioned constraints in Nakagami fading environments. Particularly, we derive the optimal power allocation to achieve the maximum effective capacity of the SU, and further derive the effective capacity in closed-form. In addition, we further obtain the closed-form expressions for the effective capacities under three widely used power and rate adaptive transmission schemes, namely, optimal simultaneous power and rate adaptation (opra), truncated channel inversion with fixed rate (tifr) and channel inversion with fixed rate without truncation (cifr). Numerical results supported by simulations are presented to consolidate our studies. The impacts on the effective capacity of various system parameters such as the number of antennas, the average interference power constraint and the delay QoS constraint are investigated in detail. It is shown that MRC diversity can significantly improve the effective capacity of the SU especially for cifr transmission scheme.

  • Structural larger timber have some weak points as like much longer drying time at lower MC(15%), a considerable check developing and the difficulty for the chemicals injection, so it is necessary to develop lighter structural size member for using the new Hanok, heavy timber construction, living necessaries, furniture and industrial goods. The developed skin timber can be a good raw material for those uses. Skin timber is a hollowed timber which be bored out of its considerable cross-sectional area. The intention of this study was the evaluation of compressive capacity of skin timber. Specially, skin timbers which have more than 200mm in sizes were used to analyze the compressive capacity. From the results of this study, the following conclusions have been made: 1. Though considerable inner parts were bored out, both pine skin timber and larch skin timber showed a good compressive capacity to that of non-bored solid timber. 2. According to ASTM, pine skin timber showed various failure types, but Splitting type, Brooming and end rolling type were main failure types for the larch skin timber. 3. Pine skin timber didn't show the significance between cylindrical shape and rectangular shape, but larch skin timber showed the significance between two shapes. Therefore, for the larch skin timber, cylindrical shape and rectangular shape should be used as a column uses and beam uses respectively. 4. Pine skin timber and larch skin timber didn't show the significance on the compressive capacity. There is not much difference of compressive capacity between them, so it can be possible to select on the user convenience.

  • NB-IoT and LTE Cat.M1 based on LPWA(Low Power Wide Area) are commercialized and serviced by mobile carriers. As the demand for IoT devices is increased, the number of subscribers to these services is also increasing. In the beginning of service, there was no issue that eNB capacity for NB-IoT and LTE Cat.M1. However, as the number of subscribers increases, there is an issue that the eNB capacity for these service is insufficient. Active UE capacity issue may cause overload by continuous increase and temporary increase. In this paper, we propose a solution to solve the problem of LTE RRC(Radio Resource Control) Active UE capacity shortage and base station overload caused by the increase of NB-IoT and LTE Cat.M1 UE in same eNB. The proposed solution can increase a cell capacity without cell division and additional eNB, and can also improve the service quality of these UEs.
