Consumer acceptance of retail service robots (리테일 서비스 로봇의 소비자 수용에 관한 연구)

  • Building on Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model(TRAM), the study aimed to examine how technology readiness affects consumers' perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and risk, which in turn predict their intention to use retail service robots. Specifically, the study proposed that technology readiness motivators (optimism and innovativeness) would influence perceived ease of use and usefulness, while technology readiness inhibitors (discomfort and insecurity) would affect perceived risk. The study further examined if the perception factors (ease of use, usefulness, and risk) contribute to intention to use retail service robots. A survey method was used with data collected from Korean consumers. The final sample size was 418. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. Findings of the study revealed that technology readiness motivators positively affected perceived ease of use and usefulness while innovativeness had no impact on usefulness. All the inhibitors increased perceived risk. Lastly, as hypothesized, perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and risk predicted intention to use retail service robots. This study extended the retail technology literature by applying and validating TRAM to the context of consumer acceptance of retail service robots. The study further helped marketers and retailers by highlighting the importance of technology readiness in improving consumer perceptions and responses towards retail service robots.

A Study on the Effect of Turnover Intention by Psychological Commitments in Mandatory Environments : Focused on the Accounting Information Systems' Users (비자발적 환경하에서 사용자의 심리적 몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 회계정보시스템 사용자를 중심으로)

  • This paper presents and tests a conceptual model of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that explains perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, organizational commitment and turnover intention in terms of psychological commitments in mandatory environments. The model focuses on the psychological commitments (Kelman's internalization, Identification, compliance) as the primary predictors of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and organizational commitment. We discuss our current understanding of technology acceptance as well as the notion of mandated use. The results are as fellows that organizational commitment is negatively related to turnover intention : perceived usefulness is positively related to organizational commitment : psychological commitments are positively related to organizational commitment, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use : perceived ease of use is positively related to perceived usefulness in mandatory environments. Through this research, psychological commitments are the strong determinants of technology acceptance in mandatory environments. These findings advance theory and contribution to the foundation for future research aimed at Improving our understanding of user adoption behavior in mandatory environments.

A Study of the Factors Influencing on the Intention to Use Fintech (핀테크 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose Fintech has been recently drawing extensive attention all over the world as the innovative trend that will change the future of the global financial industry. However, fintech has been mostly focusing on the payment service in the embryonic stage in Korea. This paper will investigate the approach to increase the intention to use for those who do not use fintech at present. Design/methodology/approach This paper empirically analyzes the impact of innovation of users and the perceived ease-of-use and security on the intention to use through the perceived usefulness and confidence. The 255 survey responses were used to verify research hypotheses through covariate structural equation model. Findings According to the analysis results, it was found that innovation had a significant impact on the perceived usefulness, but had no significant impact on confidence. The perceived usefulness had a significant impact on perceived usefulness and confidence. Moreover, the perceived usefulness and confidence had a significant impact on the intention to use. Meanwhile, it was identified that the security perceived by those who do not use fintech had a negative impact on perceived usefulness, confidence, and intention to use related to fintech. Accordingly, fintech service providers need to determine an approach to help customers to have a positive perception on the security of fintech.

A Study on the Influential Factors of Intention to Continued Use of e-Learning (이러닝의 특성과 유용성이 지속적 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Why does e-Learning service for individuals remain in the early development stage? To find the answers of this question, we adopted usefulness and intention to continued use as dependent variables based on technology acceptance model and inferred convenience, cost-effectiveness, social presence, interactivity, concentration, and procrastination as independent variables based on literature review and interview with e-Learning users. Convenience and cost-effectiveness of e-Learning tend to enhance usefulness and/or intention to continued use, while lack of social presence, interactivity, and concentration of e-Learning and academic procrastination tend to hinder usefulness and/or intention to continued use. To prove this research model, we used a data set collected from the survey. The respondents of survey were the undergraduate students who used voluntarily e-Learning. Data analysis was conducted using 275 respondents by partial least square. The analysis result of causal relation indicated that convenience and cost-effectiveness influenced both usefulness and intention to continued use, and that cost-effectiveness and concentration influenced only intention to continued use. But, interactivity and procrastination did not influence usefulness and intention to continued use.

  • The current study investigates the customer's perceived interactivity, perceived trust, and flow of the Internet shopping-mall. The TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) was applied to see the effect on the individual's attitude toward the shopping-mall via purchase intention. To fulfill the study objectives, a total of 806 questionnaires were distributed to the customers with first-hand experience with fashion merchandise in Internet shopping-mall. The judgement sampling method was employed on sample population ages from 20's to 40's over one month period. The result showed the following. First, the perceived interactivity had an effect on perceived trust, usefulness, Flow in all shopping mall types. but there was no effect in the relationship between the two-way Interactivity and the perceived usefulness in the Specialty Internet Shopping-mall model. Second, perceived trust and Flow had an effect on perceived usefulness in all shopping mall types. Third, perceived trust, usefulness and Flow had an effect on the attitude toward shopping-mall in all shopping mall types. Forth, perceived trust, usefulness, Flow and attitude toward shopping-mall had an effect on purchase intention of fashion merchandise in all shopping mall types.

  • EDI is one of the most important information technologies in todays business environment. This study is an exploratory study on the EDI control of Korean companies in their early stage of EDI implementation. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of EDI controls on the security and usefulness of EDI systems for Korean companies who have adopted EDI. The data of fifty-one Korean companies for financial, manufacturing, and trade industries are collected by the mail survey and interview methods. The level of EDI control is mediocre on the average. The level of EDI security is low while that of EDI usefulness is mediocre. The empirical results show that the EDI controls in general improve the EDI security and usefulness significantly. Especially, the application and security control affect the EDI security significantly while the management, application, and security controls affect the EDI usefulness significantly. The gap between the level and perceived importance of control does not affect the EDI security but decreses the EDI usefulness at the marginal level of significance. The limitation of this study is that only a small number of companies are available for data collection because Korea is in the early stage of EDI implementation.

Factors affecting millennials' intentions to use social commerce in fashion shopping

  • Social media has become an integral part of consumers' daily lives. Individuals connect with one another on social networking sites to like, share, and post information and experiences. As social media become popular among millennials, a growing number of fashion retailers use social media networks in the context of online commerce transactions. Accordingly, an increased number of fashion retailers has been using social media as an advertising tool and a retail channel. Despite the popularity of social media among millennials, empirical findings are limited to reveal factors associated with young consumers' intentions to use social commerce in fashion shopping. This study sought to examine factors affecting millennials' intentions to use social commerce in fashion shopping by adopting the technology acceptance model. A total of 524 college students completed an online survey in the U.S. The results of structural equation model confirmed that perceived ease of use, usefulness, and enjoyment had a positive impact on millennials' attitudes and intentions toward fashion shopping in social commerce. While both perceived ease of use and usefulness positively influenced enjoyment, usefulness had a stronger impact than ease of use. Compared to usefulness, enjoyment had much stronger impact on attitudes. Further structural model analysis revealed a direct, positive influence of perceived usefulness of social commerce on perceived enjoyment of social commerce, which has not been explored in prior studies. These findings provide theoretical and managerial implications.

Perceived Usefulness of Business Coaching on the Relationship between Entrepreneurial Competencies and Business Success

  • The present study aims to investigate the perceived usefulness of business coaching as a moderator between the association of entrepreneurial competencies and business success of women micro-entrepreneurs. This study employs a stratified random sampling technique to collect data from women micro-entrepreneurs who attended business coaching sessions. In total, 261 questionnaires were distributed and collected. This study has divided the moderator (i.e., perceived usefulness of business coaching) into two groups, namely, group 1 (with a low mean) and group 2 (with a high mean) for moderation analysis. By using a comparative analysis of the path coefficient for groups 1 and 2, the path is moderated by the perceived usefulness of business coaching if the beta value for group 1 is significant, and the beta value for group 2 is non-significant. The results show that eight out of a total of sixteen hypotheses were supported, while the remaining hypotheses were rejected. The findings of the study suggest that the domains of entrepreneurial competencies for women micro-entrepreneurs, including strategic, commitment, conceptual, opportunity, and relationship competencies, together with the perceived usefulness of business coaching, are vital for the business success and should remain the principal focus of future research in women entrepreneurship.

A Study on the Intention of Continuous Usage of O2O Service: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of User Innovation (O2O 서비스의 지속이용의도에 관한 연구 : 이용자 혁신성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose Today, the increasing of internet use and the expansion of internet range provide us with many opportunities. Therefore, this study examine relation of perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk, perceived usefulness based on previous studies. And we examine the effect of O2O service satisfaction on continuous use intention. Also, we studied the relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk, perceived usefulness according to user innovation. Design/Methodology A Structural Equation Model(SEM) method was used to test the theoretical framework based on a sample of 451 respondents who have experienced the O2O service. Factor analysis and confirmation factor analysis was conducted to check the reliability, convergency validity and discriminant validity. To test moderating effect of the user innovation, multi group analysis was conducted. Findings First, perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk have significant effects on perceived usefulness. Second, perceived usefulness of O2O service have a positive effect on satisfaction. Third, satisfaction of O2O service have a positive effect on continuous use intention. The relationship that perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk affect perceived usefulness is differ depending on user innovation. Based on these findings, this study suggested to marketing practitioners the need for different approach by a user innovation.

A Study on the Factors of Mobile Applications Adoption (모바일 어플리케이션 수용 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Mobile applications market has emerged as new business model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of mobile applications adoption. Based on prior studies of TAM and mobile technology/service, service quality, user experience, OS compatibility, self-efficacy, innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and cost were identified as affecting factors of mobile applications adoption. According to the results, service quality is significantly related to the perceived usefulness, and self-efficacy and innovativeness are significantly related to the perceived ease of use. User experience was also found to be related to both the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use. In case of OS compatibility, it was found to be significantly related to the perceived ease of use, but not to the perceived usefulness. Both the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use were found to be related to the adoption of mobile applications. However, cost was not found to be significant to the relationship between the perceived usefulness/the perceived ease of use and the adoption of mobile applications. This study contributes to provide the base of activation strategies and practical implications for mobile applications.
