RULA 평가기법을 활용한 분말소화기 디자인 연구 (A Study on Powder Fire Extinguisher Design with RULA Technique Used)

  • This study was intended to find methods of fire extinguishing system designs that can improve the equipment's usability. In this study, the fire suppression experiment through fire extinguishers and the data drawn through the experiment were analyzed, and then the guideline for the improvement of designs was presented. The procedure is as follows. A fire suppression experiment with the use of fire extinguishers was done by 43 average adults. The whole process of the fire suppression was videotaped, and then captured major scenes were analyzed with the use of RULA, a human engineering measurement tool. The analyzed data were divided into 4 steps, and then the guideline for design improvement was presented. The summary of the study is as follows. Step 1, Fire extinguisher distance step. To reduce overload occurring at the process of holding fire extinguishers suddenly, wheels are attached to the body of extinguishers, or pedestals are installed. Step 2, Fire extinguisher transportation step. The length of hose is extended, or fire fighting water is sprayed far, so that overload of legs occurring at the process of travel can be reduced. In addition, the weight of fire extinguisher shouldn't be over 2 kg. Step 3, Safety pin removal stage. Safety pins should be applied with button type, so that excessive posture of lower limbs and excessive twisting of wrists won't happen during safety pin removal process. Besides, safety pins should be designed for easy identification and operation. Step 4, Fire extinguishing agent spraying step. To reduce overload occurring at sudden spraying of fire fighting water, pressure should be increased gradually until high pressure. With the above study results applied to existing fire extinguisher design, it may contribute to reducing any fire damage.

사용행태 분석에 의한 컴퓨터 키보드 디자인 개선 -한글의 특성 및 사용행태를 중심으로- (Improvement of computer keyboard design through behavioral analysis (Focused on the characteristics of Korean Alphabet and its use))

  • 한글기계화에 대한 논쟁의 초점은 어디까지나 벌식에만 맞추어져 왔다. 현재 표준안으로 되어있는 2벌식 키보드에서 실제 한글을 사용할 때의 문제점은 윗글쇠의 빈번한 사용에 따른 오타의 증가와 피로도의 누적이었다. 윗글쇠 사용상의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 가설을 세울 수 있다. '윗글쇠의 위치와 디자인을 변경함으로써 윗글쇠를 누를 때 다른 키(key)와의 간섭을 제거하여 한글 입력시의 오타율을 줄일 수 있다.' 본 연구에서는 윗글쇠의 위치와 디자인을 변경한 프로토타입(Prototype)을 제작하고, 사용행태 실험을 통해 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 실험 결과에 의하면 윗글쇠의 위치 변경은 오히려 숙련자들에게 혼란을 일으킬 수 있으나, 윗글쇠 위치를 유지하면서 하단에 있는 다른 키들을 다른 곳으로 이동시키고 윗글쇠의 크기와 디자인을 개선함으로써 윗글쇠와 다른 키간의 간섭을 줄여 위치 인식을 확실하게 하고 오타를 줄일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 오타는 감소하는 반면 연타속도에는 영향을 미치지 않음으로 인해 한글 입력시의 효율을 향상시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 윗글쇠의 위치 변경과 디자인 개선 전후의 행동특성 관찰을 위주로 실험하였으나, 향후에는 종합적인 한글자판의 개선을 위해, 현재 윗글쇠 하단에 있는 다른 기능 키들의 적절한 위치 선정을 통해 전체적인 개선 효과를 얻을 수 있는 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Ergonomic Evaluation and Improvement of Bus Seat Armrest Design

  • Objective: The present study is intended to develop an improved bus seat armrest design by evaluating various bus armrest designs from ergonomic aspects. Background: An ergonomic armrest design which considers the sitting postures and body shapes of passengers can improve the convenience and comfort of a bus seat. Method: Subjective satisfaction of each of five design dimensions (length, width, height from seatpan, shape, and angle) was evaluated for seven bus seat armrest designs in various sizes and shapes by 58 participants (28 males and 33 females) using a 7-point scale (1: very dissatisfied, 4: neutral, and 7: very satisfied). Improved bus seat armrest designs adjustable in length and rotatable to the left or right (sliding and rotating armrest, SRA) with a concave, flat, or convex shape of the upper part were developed by considering the preferred design features and the body size and shape in sitting posture and needs of passengers and then compared with a conventional armrest. Results: A bus seat armrest with a wide width (40~50mm), a long length (360mm), a lower height (213mm), and a curved shape was found significantly preferred in terms of comfort. The proposed armrest designs (SRA-convex, SRA-flat, and SRA-concave) improved satisfaction by 46~62% for length suitability, 184~216% for width suitability, 205~214% for angle suitability, 138~181% for contact area suitability, and 49~64% for height suitability, 138~174% for comfort, and 93~111% for overall satisfaction. Conclusion: The preferred design features and passengers' needs of bus seat armrest were identified and the SRA designs were recommended for better usability. Application: The ergonomic design process of bus seat armrest employed in the present study can be applied to designing armrests in various vehicles for better convenience and comfort.

증강현실기반의 패션제품 어플리케이션 특성요인과 사용의도와의 관계에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Augmented Reality-based Fashion Product Application on Intention to Use)

  • With the technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution integrated into the industry as a whole, digital transformation (DT) is becoming an innovative and essential element of corporate survival in the fashion industry, and it is expected that the paradigm shift in shopping will become an unavoidable reality, especially based on the AR. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of augmented reality were presented separately as perceived realism, interaction, pleasure, and usability, and the influence of augmented reality by immersion parameters on the user's satisfaction and intended to reveal the relationship between satisfaction and usage through the characteristics of augmented reality. For the purpose of this study, a structured questionnaire was conducted, and the available 209 responses were collected and used for empirical analysis. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, while immersion has the greatest effect on satisfaction, the effect on use intention has a stronger effect on satisfaction than immersion. This indicates that purchase occurs when the user's immersion leads to satisfaction, and when the satisfaction falls, the intention to use is also lowered. Second, interactivity, enjoyment, and ease of use among the various characteristics of fashion applications have a positive effect on immersion. Among them, ease of use had a strong effect on immersion. In light of this, it can be seen that ease of use should be considered first when creating an application based on augmented reality in the future fashion industry. However, the perceived reality is low in the degree of immersion, and the effect on satisfaction is also lowered, so it is difficult to be connected to intention. Considering that this study was conducted through indirect experience through video viewing, this study expects the development of research through a more practical research model in the future, as the impact is considered to be a relatively low measurement.

통학용 학생 가방 개선을 위한 구매기준과 착용 불만족 경험 조사 (Investigation on the Purchasing Criteria and Discomfort of School Backpack for Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the satisfaction of the adolescents' school backpack bag and the important criteria when purchasing for developing comfort and functional backpack. The questionnaire was composed and surveyed with 245 middle school students and the data were analyzed through SPSS 13.0. Purchasing criteria were grouped into 5: practical, shop environment, comfort, aesthetic and maintenance. Satisfaction factors were function/comfort, fashion/aesthetic and durability/A.S. 50.2% of students recognized the inappropriate wearing backpack might cause the deformation of body shape. And the wrong habit of wearing bag was found to affect the body posture of students. Main symptoms caused by wearing it for long time are ‘sweating around shoulder and back' and ‘feeling stiff in shoulders and waist'. Needs arise to develop the bag which could prevent them and to educate students how to wear bags. According to the result from MDS of purchasing criteria, one axis is product vs. environment, and other is functional vs. psychological aspects. According to the result from MDS of bag satisfaction, one axis is function/durability vs. fashion/appearance, and other is gestalt quality vs. part quality. They wanted the improvement in the aspects of shape/design, material, maintenance, comfort and usability of the bags. Specially it is required that we research the adolescent customer-oriented way and develop the new materials or shapes pursuing both shoulder comfort and characteristics.

Designing and Developing the Agricultural Information Management System of North Korea

  • In North Korea, there has been the considerable loss of human lives every yew due to the deficiency of foods. Thus, in order to reduce such damages, a research project should be launched to provide various information for cooperation with North Korean government, and to develop proper agricultural management system. Furthermore, based on the water resources information map generated by KOWACO (Korea Water Resources Corporation) and the environmental information system developed by MOE (Ministry of Environment), an agricultural information infrastructure of North Korea and a management system need to be effectively performed. Therefore, this research is mainly to develop the Agricultural Information Management System of North Korea (NKAIMS), which can collect, manage and analyze agricultural information and water resources utilization status of North Korea, and further support to make relevant decisions and establish the agricultural land-use plans. This research has three phases. The major outcome of the first phase is collecting the agricultural and water resources utilization data such as soils, rivers, streams, collective farms, etc., designing and building database, and developing integrated management system considering the users' requirements. The main work of the second phase is improving and reinforcing database such as adding the information of dams, land-over data, bridges, tunnels, satellite images, etc., inspecting and renewing such as importing detail attribute information of reservoirs, and improving system for more conveniently using. The third phase will be to supplement more useful functions such as statistic analysis, continually inspecting and improving database, and developing web-based system. The product of this research supports collecting and analyzing relevant data to facilitate easier agricultural activities and support effective decision making for food production in the preparation of unification. Moreover, through designing database considering sharing information and system expendability, it can support systematic data usability of agricultural information and save cost for data management.

국내 키오스크의 사용자 분석과 디자인 개선 방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the User Analysis and Design Improvement Direction of Kiosks)

  • 본 논문은 유니버설 디자인 원칙을 바탕으로 키오스크의 사용성을 높여 모든 사용자가 편리하게 사용하기 위한 키오스크 디자인 개선 방향을 연구하는 것이 목적이다. 키오스크 사용과 관련한 나이별 설문조사와 분석결과를 검증하는 추가 설문조사를 통해 필수 개선점을 도출하여 디자인 개선 방향을 연구하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 키오스크 화면 배경과 디자인 요소 간 높은 대비, yellow 계열의 색상, 아웃라인화 한 디자인 요소의 사용으로 가독성을 높인다. 그리고 10pt를 기준으로 폰트의 축소와 확대가 가능하도록 한다. 또한, 휠체어 탑승자를 고려하여 하단부 설계가 불가능한 영역과 키오스크가 낮추어져야 할 최소 높이를 도출하였다. 향후 키오스크 디자인 시에는 개인의 특성에 따라 키오스크의 기능이 다변화할 수 있도록 하는 디자인과 시스템이 필요하며 유니버설 디자인의 적용에 중점을 두어 디자인해야 한다. 본 연구는 연구대상이 한정적이므로 다양한 표본을 대상으로 한 추후 연구가 필요하며 색상과 가독성에 관련한 검증 연구도 추후 진행할 계획이다.

재래닭의 의안연구 (A study on a medical chart about native chicken)

  • 본 연구는 전통의학문헌에 나타난 재래닭 관련 의안을 분석하여 재래닭의 약리작용 성분을 정리하는데 목표를 두고 있다. 민간치료 자료의 처방과 기존의 한의서에 기술된 다양한 재래 닭 처방과의 상이성 및 공통점을 찾아 분석하여 과학적 검증이 가능한 내용에 대하여 정리하고자 한다. 분석된 내용을 구분 정리하여 DB를 구축하고, 전통의서에 수재된 처방, 한약, 생약 및 특수 치료 방법에 대한 유용성 평가를 통하여 닭 관련 제품개발과 다양한 기능성 식품개발의 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 또한, 국가 지식자원의 지속적인 확충과 전문인력 양성 및 지식문화 관련사업의 부가가치 창출을 통한 미래 신성장 동력산업을 육성하고자 한다. 재래닭 관련 처방지식에 대한 검색 및 정보 관리체계의 정형화가 난해하므로 규격화, 개념화, 형식화한 전통의학 재래닭 처방지식 DB를 구축하여 다학제간의 연구시스템을 통한 고의학 서적의 약학적 유용성을 평가하고 대체의학이나 기능성 식품개발의 실용화 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Ergonomic Analysis of Cellular Phone Keypad Considering the Dominant Hand

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to give interest about usability of cellular phone keypad for left-handed person. Background: Although there are being a lot of attempts to design suitable product on user's request in process that design cellular phone keypad, ergonomic access about left-handed person who compose decimal class is unprepared. Especially, in early user's occasion, left-handed persons need more efforts than right-handed person to master Hangul character input process skill level. But, since realization about this left-handed person's discomfort has not spread, the importance has not been well thought in the society. Method: (1) After extracting emblem to use in comparison in questionnaire, applied emblem uniformly to different 3 kind of cellular phone. (2) Measured Hangul input time and mistyping number by dominant hand's position and skill level to reagent. (3) Taking the result through ANOVA. Conclusion: In the result of the experiment about Hangul input time and mistyping number according to dominant hand's position and skill level, left-handed person's group on the low skill level has shown the dullest use capability among 4 experiment groups. Application: In the future, analysis result may be used to the data of realization conversion in process design of various products including cellular phone keypad to consider left-handed person.

외부고리 은하 영상 분석을 위한 파이썬 기반 알고리즘 개발 (Development of a Python-based Algorithm for Image Analysis of Outer-ring Galaxies)

  • 본 연구는 데이터 과학의 과정에 따른 파이썬 기반의 외부고리 은하 영상 분석 알고리즘 개발을 목적으로 한다. 잠재적 사용자는 학생과 교사를 포함한 시민 과학자로 정하였다. 은하의 실제 데이터를 이용한 분류 연구는 IRAF 라는 전문 소프트웨어가 이용되고 있어 일반인이 접근하기에 한계가 있다. 이에 IRAF를 사용한 선행 연구의 결과와 비교 검증이 가능한 외부고리 은하를 분석 대상 천체로 정하여, 영상 분석 알고리즘을 개발하고 그 결과를 검증하였다. 검증 결과 총 69개의 외부고리 은하 중 50개(72.5%)가 IRAF 결과와 높은 일치를 보였다. 남은 19개(27.5%)는 시선 방향에 겹친 밝은 별의 존재 혹은 은하 내부의 약한 밝기로 인해 IRAF 결과와 다른 낮은 일치를 보였다. 보완 과정을 거친 최종 결과물은 공유 및 교육 자료의 활용도를 높이기 위해 전체 사용된 데이터와 알고리즘, 파이썬 코드 파일 및 사용 설명서를 GitHub에 탑재하였다.
