Performance Analysis of MVDR and RLS Beamforming Using Systolic Array Structure (시스토릭 어레이 구조를 갖는 최소분산 비왜곡응답 및 최소자승 회귀 빔형성기법 성능 분석)

  • This paper analyses the performance of either the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) or the recursive least square (RLS) beamformer structured on the systolic array. Provided that the snapshot vector including the desired user's signal and the interferences with the noise is received at the array antenna. In order to improve the quality of received signal, MVDR or RLS algorithm can be utilized to update the beamformer weights recursively. Furthermore to increase the channel capacity, by the usage of the above schemes, the effect of the spatial filtering can be obtained which constructively combining multipath components corresponding to the desired user whereas the multiple access interferences (MAI) is nulled out on spatial domain. This paper introduces the MVDR and RLS beamformer structured on systolic array conducting the spatial filtering, and its performance under the multipath fading channel in the presence of multiple access interferences will be analyzed. To show the superior spatial filtering performances of the proposed scheme employing the systolic way structured beamformer, the computer simulations are carried out. And the validity of practical deployment of the proposed scheme will be confirmed throughout showing the BER behaviors and the beampatterns.

The Role of Surgery for the Treatment of Upper Esophageal Cancer (상부 식도암에서 수술적 치료의 유용성)

  • Background: In the past, radiotherapy was the gold standard for the treatment of upper esophageal cancer, but the long-term follow-up was disappointing. There is still ongoing debate on the surgical management of these patients. This study was undertaker to update our experience with upper esophageal carcinoma and to evaluate the effectiveness of surgery. Material and Method: From May 1995 to December 2005, 147 patients with esophageal cancer underwent surgery at our hospital. They were divided into two groups: one group consisted of 23 patients with upper esophageal (cervical and upper thoracic) cancer and another group consisted of 424 patients with lower esophageal (middle thoracic, lower thoracic and abdominal) cancer. We evaluated the effectiveness of surgical treatment between the 2 groups by measuring the rate of complete surgical resection, the postoperative complications, the postoperative mortality, tumor recurrence, the average life expectancy and the long-term survival. Result: On comparing both groups, there was no significant difference in the distribution of the pathological stage and no significant difference in the percentage of performing complete surgical resection. The percentage of post-operative complications was 39.1% (9 out of 23 patients) in the upper esophageal cancer group, and this was significantly higher than 16.9% (21 out of 124 patients) in the lower esophageal cancer group (p<0.05). However, there was no significant statistical difference between the groups for the percentages of postoperative mortality, tumor recurrence or the postoperative average life expectancy. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in operative mortality or surgical effectiveness between the 2 groups. Therefore, we thought that surgical treatment is also effective for treating upper esophageal cancer, but further investigation with large patient populations will be required.

An Efficient BotNet Detection Scheme Exploiting Word2Vec and Accelerated Hierarchical Density-based Clustering (Word2Vec과 가속화 계층적 밀집도 기반 클러스터링을 활용한 효율적 봇넷 탐지 기법)

  • Numerous enterprises, organizations and individual users are exposed to large DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. DDoS attacks are performed through a BotNet, which is composed of a number of computers infected with a malware, e.g., zombie PCs and a special computer that controls the zombie PCs within a hierarchical chain of a command system. In order to detect a malware, a malware detection software or a vaccine program must identify the malware signature through an in-depth analysis, and these signatures need to be updated in priori. This is time consuming and costly. In this paper, we propose a botnet detection scheme that does not require a periodic signature update using an artificial neural network model. The proposed scheme exploits Word2Vec and accelerated hierarchical density-based clustering. Botnet detection performance of the proposed method was evaluated using the CTU-13 dataset. The experimental result shows that the detection rate is 99.9%, which outperforms the conventional method.

  • This paper describes on the system and method for automatically tracking and real-time monitoring the position of target ships relative to the own ship using a PC based radar system that displays radar images and electronic charts together on a single PC screen. This system includes a simulator for generating the GGA and VTG information of target ships and a simulator for generating the TTM and OSD outputs from a ARPA radar and then host computer accepts NMEA0183 sentences on the maneuvering information of target ships from these simulators. The results obtained are summarized as follows;1. The system developed this study can be used as a range finder for measuring the distance between two ships and as a device for providing the maneuvering information such as distance and bearing to target ships from own ship on ECS screen. 2. From the result of position tracking for a selected target ship tracked with an update rate of 5 seconds using the $\alpha$-$\beta$ tracker, we concluded that the smoothing effect by the $\alpha$-$\beta$tracker was very effective and stable except in the time interval until about one minute after the target is detected. 3. From the fact that the real-time maneuvering information of tracked ship targets via a local area network (LAN) from a host computer installed a radar target extractor was successfully transferred to various monitoring computers of ship, we concluded that this system can be used as a sub-monitoring system of ARPA radar.

  • Today, one of the important factors that determine the university rating is the employment rate. The jobseekers are using online or offline recruiting services in order to get the desired job information. There are lots of employment supporting systems as like web-based employment agencies and University's job centers, but they are focusing more on providing job information rather than on managing the employment support. In addition, those are insufficient to support business process associated with MOU companies, industry field training, mentoring processors, etc., and to continue to manage and to update the information (resume, personal statement, etc.) about the students which the companies want, and the information about the companies which jobseekers want. Therefore, it is required that the employment supporting system which not only storages the initial data (student and corporate information), but also assist the career placement. In this paper, we considered the specific employment rights management features of the existing employment support system, it could receive real-time job information in the smart phone, we presented the design and construction of the system linked to the Bachelor Information System.

  • 이동 단말의 보급이 보편화됨에 따라 이동 객체의 위치 정보를 기반으로 사용자에게 사람이나 사물, 차량 등과 같은 이동 객체의 위치를 파악하여 그에 대한 정보를 제공해 주는 시스템이 필요로 하게 되었나 이러만 이동 객체관리 시스템에서는 계속적으로 위치 정보가 변화하는 이동 객체의 특성상 데이터의 빈번한 갱신이 일어나게 되고 DBMS에 명시적으로 저장되지 않은 위치 정보에 대해서도 보다 정확한 위치를 사용자에게 제공해 주어야 한다. 그러나 차량의 위치 추적과 같이 적용 개체가 차량에 한정된 경우 이동 경로가 도로상으로 제한되어 있으므로 이동 경로를 예측하기 힘든 사람과 같은 객체와는 특성이 나르나 따라서 차량 객체에 대해 보다 효과적인 서비스를 제공해 주기 위해서는 사람에 대한 위치 추적과는 다른 갱신 정책과 불확실한 위치의 추정 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 공간 데이터에 저장된 도로의 위상 정보와 차량의 속도 속성을 이용한 갱신 정책을 정하여 갱신 빈도수로 줄이고 도로 레이어의 위상 정보를 통해 불확실한 과거 및 미래의 위치로 추정하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 갱신 정책은 차량의 속도를 고려하여 현재의 위치에서 도로상의 교차점에 도착하는 시점의 위치를 예측하여 데이터의 갱신 시점으로 결정한다. 또한 불확실한 위치에 대한 추정은 이동하는 도회와 대응되는 위상 정보를 기반으로 차량의 이동 방향을 예측하 여 불확실한 미래의 위치를 결정할 수 있으며 명시적으로 저장되지 않은 과거 위치 정보의 검색에 대한 요청이 발생했을 경우 위상 정보를 이용하여 위치를 보정하고 사용자에게 보나 높은 정확성을 지닌 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있다.다.   • Recently it is being increased rapidly to install magnetic marker and RFID tag on the underground utility lines before backfilling to ensure effective it's management. However, due to changes an attitude and damages of sensors. By pressure and vibration during soil compacting, detecting rate is significantly reduced as well as it allows to use only one line of various pipes since it has an unique frequency. Also it is required too long time to reach to target point with an non-accurate navigational GPS receiver and hard to update existing data base with a manual input of new data in the field. To improve these problems, the researcher developed the field management system that apply with ball typed self-levelling marker which is free from the changes of attitude for sensors during compaction as well as has various radio frequency applicable to many kind of pipes and ensure fast positioning to target point using an incorporated system with PDA based DGPS receiver which allows loading a field GIS software and RFID detector. Further, it provides with viewing all of RFID data on the DGPS receiver screen directly and also input new data to existing data base in the field automatically.

Strategies of Updating Road Framework Data by a Vehicle-based Kinematic Survey (차량이동측량에 의한 도로 기본지리정보 갱신방안에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to maximize the use of framework data by a method for updating road framework data using a economical, rapid, and accurate Vehicle-based kinematic survey to get the latest road data among "transportation framework data" which was built in 2003. We collected data using a Vehicle-based kinematic survey with DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) in Daejeon and Pyeongtaek city and verified the accuracy of line and point features between surveying and previous results. The result showed that Daejeon city which is located near GPS CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Station)s and receive a signal well had lower errors than 1/5,000 digital base map, and Pyeongtaek city which is located far from the stations and receive a signal badly had errors beyond the limits. The study showed that postprocessing method or Total Station surveying should be used where signals cannot be detected well after analyzing a receiving rate from GPS CORSs, the stations of other organizations should be shared, and further studies are needed.

  • Recently, both wireless communications technology and the performance of small devices have developed exponentially, while the number of services using various types of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has also massively increased in line with the ongoing technological and environmental changes. Furthermore, ever more devices that were previously used in the offline environment-including small-size sensors and CCTV-are being connected to the Internet due to the huge increase in IoT services. However, many IoT devices are not equipped with security functions, and use vulnerable open source software as it is. In addition, conventional network equipment, such as switches and gateways, operates with vulnerabilities, because users tend not to update the equipment on a regular basis. Recently, the simple vulnerability of IoT devices has been exploited through the distributed denial of service (DDoS) from attackers creating a large number of botnets. This paper proposes a system that is capable of identifying Internet-connected devices quickly, analyzing and managing the vulnerability of such devices using Internet-wide scan technology. In addition, the vulnerability analysis rate of the proposed technology was verified through collected banner information. In the future, the company plans to automate and upgrade the proposed system so that it can be used as a technology to prevent cyber attacks.

Development of V2I2V Communication-based Collision Prevention Support Service Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 활용한 V2I2V 통신 기반 차량 추돌방지 지원 서비스 개발)

  • One of the Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System(C-ITS) priority services is collision prevention support service. Several studies have considered V2I2V communication-based collision prevention support services using Artificial Neural Networks(ANN). However, such services still show some issues due to a low penetration of C-ITS devices and large delay, particularly when loading massive traffic data into the server in the C-ITS center. This study proposes the Artificial Neural Network-based Collision Warning Service(ACWS), which allows upstream vehicle to update pre-determined weights involved in the ANN by using real-time sectional traffic information. This research evaluates the proposed service with respect to various penetration rates and delays. The evaluation result shows the performance of the ACWS increases as the penetration rate of the C-ITS devices in the vehicles increases or the delay decreases. Furthermore, it reveals a better performance is observed in more advanced ANN model-based ACWS for any given set of conditions.
