  • In Korea, many local university mathematics faculty knew that the institution faced serious student shortage problems and the restructuring and cut actions for such a mathematics major programs. In general, undergraduate mathematics education in korea is in the crisis. In general, lots of mathematics departments in korea was not prepared for such a severe risk. In this article, university mathematics education and research business are studied in the context of the size of korea-usa population, economy(such as GDP), SCI indices. Korea-usa university mathematics education profile data are presented to compare korea-usa university mathematics education business. Lots of precious data on mathematics education are being helped to prepare for the university mathematics education crisis.

  • The background and the existing problems in teaching of mathematics application were analyzed. Based on the mathematics knowledge which from the simple application, complicate application, and synthetically application to the mathematics modeling, the ability level test questions of mathematics application was worded out to help the teaching and learning in mathematics application.

  • We extend the previous work [J. Korean Soc. Ind. Appl. Math. 21(3) 181] to two-and three-asset equity-linked securities (ELS). In the real finance market, two-or three-asset ELS is more popular than one-asset ELS. Therefore, we need to develop mobile platform for pricing the two-and three-asset ELS. The mobile implementation of the ELS pricing will be very useful in practice.

  • 중국 수학을 토대로 조선 수학이 발전된 것은 잘 알려져 있다. 이 논문에서는 조선에 유입된 중국 산서의 역사를 조사하여 중국 수학이 조선 수학에 끼친 영향을 연구한다. 15세기 세종(世宗)대에 들어온 중국 수학, 17세기 서양 수학의 영향을 받은 중국 수학과 19세기 중국에서 재정리된 송, 원대의 수학으로 나누어 이들이 유입되는 과정도 함께 조사한다.

  • The values and methods of mathematics education which mathematics teachers tried to impart to their students have varied historically according to the situations of each institution. The cases of the mathematics education in Cambridge University and University College, London show that the peculiar meanings or values of mathematics education were transmitted on students and the methods or focus of the teaching were uniquely determined under the influences of university examinations or conditions of students. In specific, the characteristic education of Augustus De Morgan who studied in Cambridge University and then taught in University College, London reveals better the different institutional contexts. In this paper, I suggest mathematics teachers reconsider mathematics learning motivations on their institutional contexts.

  • We in this note consider a class of rings which is related to both power-Armendariz and central Armendariz rings, in the spirit of Armendariz and Kaplansky. We introduce central power-Armendariz as a generalization of them, and study the structure of central products of coefficients of zero-dividing polynomials. We also observe various sorts of examples to illuminate the relations between central power-Armendariz and related ring properties.

  • In this article, we investigate the solution of the inverse problem for one dimensional heat equation with Neumann and Robin boundary conditions, that is, we determine the temperature and source term with given initial and boundary conditions. Three radial basis functions(RBFs) have been used for numerical solution, and Homotopy perturbation method for analytic solution. Numerical solutions which are obtained by considering each of the three RBFs are compared to the exact solution. For appropriate value of shape parameter c, numerical solutions best approximates exact solutions. Furthermore, we have shown the impact of noisy data on the numerical solution of u and f.

초등학교 교사들의 수학 수업에 대한 불안 요인과 수학에 대한 태도 조사

  • The purpose of this study to analyze correlation for the tendency of mathematics anxiety, traits according to the factors of mathematics anxiety and mathematics attitude depending on the teacher variable through a survey of mathematics anxiety and attitude toward mathematics on teaching mathematics of elementary school teachers. To solve the questions above, sampled 250 elementary school teachers in Daegu province. As a result of the study, mathematics anxiety on teaching is not actually formed a lot. However, the more training experience with mathematics, previous academic career, education career were, the lower mathematics anxiety was. The results showed that mathematics anxiety is affected by previous academic career, training experience with mathematics in particular. In addition, we found that mathematics anxiety is affected by mathematics anxiety in their school, recognition of the ability to explain mathematics contents and attitudes toward mathematics.
