콘크리트용 굵은 골재로서 염색공단 열원 폐재의 적용성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Dyeing Industrial Heat Source Waste Aggregate as Concrete Aggregate)

  • This study is as a part of the new disposal and recycling plans of heat-resource waste of Daegu dyeing industrial center we tried to examine applicable possibility of crushed thing(waste aggregate) as aggregates for mortar and concrete. To examine applicable possibility of waste aggregate as a lightweight-aggregate for concrete and mortar, we carried this study by mainly property examination of concrete according to replacement ratio of waste aggregate. We carried slump, unit weight, compressive strength and bending strength test according to replacement ratio of waste aggregate. As the result of that, if we use waste aggregate, lightweight of concrete and mortar will be possible. Specially it shows a strength improvement effect of cement hardening according to using this so it is judged that applicable possibility as aggregate for concrete and mortar is very excellent.

  • The objective of in this study makes investigation into the characteristics of concrete as to properties and blended ratio of crushed aggregates through experimental researches. In this research observed crushed quality characteristic of crushed aggregates that is produced in representative stony mountains of Busan suburbs (Yang-san, Kim-hea, Jin-hea). And wished to investigate the quality change and characteristics of concrete with variation of blend ratio of crushed sand(50, 60, 70, 80, 90, $100\%$). Measured the air contents and slump to investigate properties of fresh concrete, and unit weight and compressive strength in age of 7, 28, 60, 90 days to investigate properties of hardened concrete.

Vitrified Glass 콘크리트의 특성 (Utilization of Vitraified Glass as an Aggregate Source in Concrete)

  • Over 4.1 billion metric tons of non-hazardous solid wstes are generated in the United States annually. Therefore, there is a need to reuse or reprocess as many products or by-products as possible. In this report, theaggregates produced from Naval Shipyard and Charleston area dredge spoils are designated as GP-21-23 and GP 4-5, repectively. The major objective of this study is to determine the feasiblity of the use of these aggregates in concrete. The followings are some of the conclusions, observations and recommendations regarding this portion of the research project. In most cases, the unit weight of concrete containing GP 21-23 and GP 4-5 (vitrified galss) lower than the control concrete, and the concrete containing vitrified glass produced lower compressive and bending strength compared to the control. However the concrete containing virtrified glass could be used in the field based on the minimum criterial set for the mix design. The use of vitrified glass in concrete is recommended in several applications except parking lots, side walks and main roads, because abrasion resistace is not high.

  • The purpose of this experimental research is to investigate the mechanical properties of ordinary strength and high strength concrete containing waste glass powder. For this purpose, after production of concrete containing waste glass powder for different unit weight of binder and placement ratio of waste glass powder, optimum mixing proportions of them was determined, and then mechanical properties such as static modulus of elasticity as well as compressive, tensile and flexural strength were tested and analyzed for concrete produced according to optimum mixing proportions. As a result, the concrete containing waste glass powder has as excellent workability and strength, it's strengths are analogus to those of silica fume, it's workability is somewhat better than that of silica fume.

불포화폴리에스터 수지와 재생골재를 이용한 재생 폴리머 콘크리트의 강도 및 내구 특성 (Strength and Durability Properties of Recycled Polymer Concrete Using Unsaturated Polyester Resin and Recycled Aggregates)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the strength and durability properties of recycled polymer concrete using unsaturated polyester resin and recycled aggregates. Unsaturated polyester resin, natural and recycled aggregates and fly ash were used. The mix proportions were determined to satisfy the requirement for the workability and slump according to aggregate sizes (5-10 and 5-25 mm) and unit binder contents (10% and 12%). Tests for the compressive and flexural strength, freezing and thawing and durability for 20% sulfuric solution were performed. The compressive and flexural strength of recycled polymer concrete were in the range of 85~97 MPa and 17.9~20.8 MPa, respectively. The strengths of recycled polymer concrete using recycled aggregate have similar or slightly decreased compared to polymer concrete using natural aggregate. After 300 cycles of freezing and thawing, weight decrease ratio and durability factor of recycled polymer concrete were in the range of 0.13~1.42% and 94~99, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of Garnet powder as admixture of high strength concrete. The experiment condition is unit water content 160kg/㎥, W/B=30, 35%, S/A=40, 42, 44% and the cement was replaced with Garnet powder to 0, 10% of cement weight on making specimens. The mechanical properties of the fresh and hardened concrete were given as follows. As the time elapsed, the slump loss of 10% replaced concrete was considerably lower than that of 0% replaced concrete. In compressive strength, the 10% replacement case was nearly the same or somewhat high.

  • This experimental investigation was aimed at gathering information on the flexural properties, including ductility, of high-strength lightweight concrete members(concrete with a dry unit weight of approximately 1.85t/$\textrm{m}^3$ and with compressive strength approaching 630kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 56days) under reversed cyclic loading. Two sets of six specimens each were manufactured using lightweght aggregate concrete having compressive strength of 350kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 28days and 630kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 56days. The test variables were the concrete strength, the amount of longitudinal reinforcement, and the spacing of ties. The test results, including hysteretic load-deflection curves, for the specimens representing columns under zero axial load are reported in this paper.

  • With respect to durability, the impotance of carbonation lies in the fact that it reduces the pH on the pore water in hardened concrete. However, the carbonation velocity is effected by the water/cement ratio, materials, unit cement weight, porosity, kinds of finishing materials, accuracy of constructing, environmental factors and so on. And the air permeability is closely related to the carbonation velocity because it represents the properties of concrete. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the carbonation effected by air permeability n mortar and concrete. As a result, it was found that the carbonation velocity of concrete is faster than that of mortar and it is possible to predict the carbonation velocity using air permeability.

  • This experimental study was performed to produce high flowing nomal strength concrete using viscosity agent. Test variables were selected to the viscosity agent contents with 4 levels, the cement contents with 5 levels and the coarse aggregate contents with 3 levels, etc. As a result, the high flowing and filling properties of concrete were obtatined by proper amount of viscosity agent and superplasticizer in the normal strength concrete. For the concrete mix proportions, it was found that unit weight of cement was more than 364kg/㎥ and volume of coarse aggregate was less than $280\ell/\textrm{m}^3$ in this study.
