The 1960s is a decade that is marked by new concepts of art making and art appreciation. Starting from Fluxus, the new art in the 1960s such as Happenings and performance art pursued the process of art making as an integral part of artistic experience. The traditional concept of art works that only appeal to vision soon became a site of contentious experiments and innovations in which the experience of seeing is accompanied by other sensual encounters of sound, smell, touch, and taste. These attempts can be seen as a revolutionary move to restore the sense of corporeality to the act of seeing that has been disembodied by the way in which western art has built the unifying, homeogenous field of vision. This paper delves into the works of Fluxus artists - Daniel Spoerri, Ben Vautier, Alison Knowles, Ay-O, and Takako Saito - who were central figures in taking art into the new age of post-ocularcentrism. Exploring the sense of smell, touch, and taste, these artists led the viewer to participate in their art making with the incorporated vision.

Stable range of rings is a unifying concept for problems related to the substitution and cancellation of modules. The newly appeared element-wise setting for the simplest case of stable range one is tempting to study the lifting property modulo ideals. We study the lifting of elements having (idempotent) stable range one from a quotient of a ring R modulo a two-sided ideal I by providing several examples and investigating the relations with other lifting properties, including lifting idempotents, lifting units, and lifting of von Neumann regular elements. In the case where the ring R is a left or a right duo ring, we show that stable range one elements lift modulo every two-sided ideal if and only if R is a ring with stable range one. Under a mild assumption, we further prove that the lifting of elements having idempotent stable range one implies the lifting of von Neumann regular elements.

There is an explosion of talk about crucial, new literacies for the 21st Century, for example critical thinking, problem-solving, media literacy, technology literacy, digital literacy, visual literacy. The other day, there was even an article about "gaming literacy!" How does one make sense of it all? The common factor in all these literacies is "information" - information seeking, information use, information processing, information presentation, and information evaluation. And, these "information" elements come together in information literacy: the ability to engage in effective and efficient information problem-solving. Information literacy is the overarching and unifying literacy, and all libraries have a unique and essential role to play in delivering meaningful information literacy programs to people of all ages. In this keynote paper and address, Professor and Dean Emeritus Mike Eisenberg will define the concept and structure of library-based information literacy programs and offer strategies for developing and implementing information literacy programs that are comprehensive(reaching all users), predictable (consistent over time), and accountable(measured and reported).

In this paper, we consider interval probability as a unifying concept for uncertainty and Choquet integrals with resect to a capacity functional. By using interval probability, we will define an interval-valued capacity functional and Choquet integral with respect to an interval-valued capacity functional. Furthermore, we investigate Choquet weak convergence of interval-valued capacity functionals of random sets.

In this paper, I suggest methodological ways of studying comparative literature regarding ongoing discussions of world and national literature. The role of comparative literature studies has widened in the contemporary era, in which nations have become rapidly entangled and the concept of the world as a unified entity is under question. In this regard, I critically review the traditional principles of the hospitality of cosmopolitanism and the exclusivity of the borders of national literatures. Further, I suggest that scholars adopt the concept by Sigmund Freud of "unfamiliar familiarity" as a methodological motive for studies of comparative literature. Based on this concept, scholars can further develop the unique methods of the discipline of comparative literary studies for teaching and research amidst the ongoing phenomenon of globalization. They can also use these methods to simultaneously contribute to solving the problem of "comparison without a unifying category of the world," as revealed by the results of deconstructional and postcolonial studies. Regarding community-based discussions of literature, I introduce the "bridge and door" metaphor, put forth by Georg Simmel, as a key concept in methodological consideration of translation and in comparative literary studies. In this paper, adopting the metaphor of the bridge and door as an intertextual and social model for comparative studies, I define the new role of comparative literary studies in literary transnationalism, which is particularly necessary when different languages and cultures overlap and become entangled. Regarding the rapidly changing contemporary world community, comparative literary studies, as an experimental discipline, is uniquely capable of examining this kind of community, which forms itself beyond and beneath individual nations.

에너지는 매우 복합적인 과학개념으로 많은 국가의 과학 교육과정에서 핵심을 이루는 개념이지만, 교수 학습 과정에서 많은 어려움을 야기하는 개념이기도 하다. 본 연구는 한국, 미국, 영국, 싱가포르의 교육과정을 비교분석하여 향후 교육과정 개정 시 고려해야 하는 에너지 교육과정의 쟁점들을 추출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국의 2015 개정교육과정, 미국의 차세대 과학교육표준(NGSS, Next Generation Science Standards), 영국의 과학 교육과정(National curriculum in England: Science programmes of study), 싱가포르의 과학 교육과정(Science syllabus)에서 에너지를 명시적으로 포함하는 성취기준들을 추출하여, 여섯 가지 개념 요소(에너지 형태, 에너지 자원, 에너지 전달, 에너지 전환, 에너지 보존, 에너지 산일)에 따라 분류하고 비교하였다. 에너지 관련 성취기준이 학교 급별, 학문 영역별, 에너지 개념 요소별로 어떻게 분포하는지 빈도 분석을 실시하였고, 에너지 개념 요소별로 내용 분석을 병행하였다. 그 결과 모든 나라의 교육과정 모두에서 에너지 개념의 중요성을 확인할 수 있었지만, 세부적으로는 강조하고 있는 개념 요소와 개념 요소별 내용에 있어서 상당한 차이를 발견하였다. 그 중 다른 나라와 대비되는 한국 교육과정의 가장 큰 특징은 에너지 개념 요소 중 에너지의 형태와 관련된 성취기준의 빈도가 가장 높다는 점, 특정 물리량에 대응하지 않는 체 포괄적인 의미로 사용되는 에너지 형태를 포함하고 있다는 점, 에너지 전달에 비해 좀 더 어려운 개념 요소인 에너지 전환을 강조하고 있는 점, 에너지 보존의 경우 역학적 상황에만 국한하여 성취기준이 제시되고 있는 점, 에너지 개념과 관련하여 '계'를 도입하지 않고 있는 점 등을 들 수 있다. 이러한 차이가 야기하는 교육과정 개편 상의 쟁점들에 대해서 논의하였다.

We are developing a novel framework, PRIDE (PRediction In Dynamic Environments), to perform moving object prediction (MOP) for autonomous ground vehicles. The underlying concept is based upon a multi-resolutional, hierarchical approach which incorporates multiple prediction algorithms into a single, unifying framework. The lower levels of the framework utilize estimation-theoretic short-term predictions while the upper levels utilize a probabilistic prediction approach based on situation recognition with an underlying cost model. The estimation-theoretic short-term prediction is via an extended Kalman filter-based algorithm using sensor data to predict the future location of moving objects with an associated confidence measure. The proposed estimation-theoretic approach does not incorporate a priori knowledge such as road networks and traffic signage and assumes uninfluenced constant trajectory and is thus suited for short-term prediction in both on-road and off-road driving. In this article, we analyze the complementary role played by vehicle kinematic models in such short-term prediction of moving objects. In particular, the importance of vehicle process models and their effect on predicting the positions and orientations of moving objects for autonomous ground vehicle navigation are examined. We present results using field data obtained from different autonomous ground vehicles operating in outdoor environments.

The concepts of reversible, right duo, and Armendariz rings are known to play important roles in ring theory and they are independent of one another. In this note we focus on a concept that can unify them, calling it a right Armendarizlike ring in the process. We first find a simple way to construct a right Armendarizlike ring but not Armendariz (reversible, or right duo). We show the difference between right Armendarizlike rings and strongly right McCoy rings by examining the structure of right annihilators. For a regular ring R, it is proved that R is right Armendarizlike if and only if R is strongly right McCoy if and only if R is Abelian (entailing that right Armendarizlike, Armendariz, reversible, right duo, and IFP properties are equivalent for regular rings). It is shown that a ring R is right Armendarizlike, if and only if so is the polynomial ring over R, if and only if so is the classical right quotient ring (if any). In the process necessary (counter)examples are found or constructed.

지방자치제도의 실시이후의 관광개발은 하드웨어 개발 중심에서 소프트웨어 중심으로 변화되어 왔다. 특히, 최근들어 지방자치단체는 자기 지역의 문화와 환경을 대변할 수 있는 관광콘텐츠를 발굴하여 브랜드함으로써 지역홍보 등에 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 그러나, 관광콘텐츠는 제한된 형태로 사용되고 있으며, 관광콘텐츠가 종합적으로 형성된 도시브랜드로 확장되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 C도시를 사례지역으로 선정하여 관광콘텐츠 컨셉 형성의 문제점을 제시하고, 그 형성과정을 제안하였다.

The cloud computing industry has focused on establishing a cloud-based business environment for enterprises with efforts to convert using their own on-premise computing infrastructures to using cloud services. With these efforts, using cloud services has become natural, especially for the IT industry. The cloud computing industry is moving toward proliferation of the cloud computing environment into various evolving industries. Along with industrial trends, new technical trends such as edge computing and multi-cloud are emerging. These trends are expected to create new business models and develop related service ecosystems, providing new opportunities for service providers and new experiences for users. A mong those emerging technologies, multi-cloud technology is expected to realize unlimited global cloud computing resources by unifying cloud resources from multiple public cloud service providers. In this paper, we introduce the concept and related trends of multi-cloud technology. Subsequently, we analyze the main functionalities and several use cases of multi-cloud technology. Finally, we summarize the effects and usefulness of multi-cloud technology in the domestic cloud industry.
